RUSH: Daniel in Raleigh, North Carolina, welcome to the EIB Network. Hello.

CALLER: Rush! You’re always telling your loyal listeners that we can’t see the footage of the 9/11 attacks on the US. I really don’t understand. I think a guy of your stature, you should be able to afford some of this footage and put it on yourself. I’ve even seen it on community access here on Raleigh late night.

RUSH: Uhhhh, I never even thought about buying it. I probably could, but I want to wait ’til it costs as much as possible. I don’t buy things ’til they cost a lot of money.

CALLER: That explains it!

RUSH: (Laughing.)

CALLER: I never thought of that. (Laughing.) Thank you.

RUSH: (Laughing.) You have a good point. I don’t know the state of that footage. Do the networks own it, and would they sell it, and so forth? For example — just to give you an example — I have tried, and tried, and tried to buy videotape of all of the Super Bowls in the seventies that the Steelers were in, from the networks that broadcast them. They will not do it. The only way you can do it is go to NFL Films and get the highlight for each Super Bowl, which is either 30 minutes or an hour. They will not do it. They won’t sell it no matter what I offer.

CALLER: That’s better than me than trying to get a bake sale on. I never thought that you’d just wait ’til the price was in the stratosphere.

RUSH: Well, I have to keep up my image. If word gets out that I go out there and buy cheap stuff and pay as little as I can for it, then that house of cards could give me trouble. We all have our legacies here, and so I’m glad you understand that. I appreciate that. I like that kind of sensitivity in this audience.
