RUSH: Claudette in Linden, New Jersey. Welcome to the EIB Network, Claudette. Hi.
CALLER: Hi, Rush. How are you today?
RUSH: I'm fine. Thank you very much.
CALLER: Okay. I just wanted to ask you: What is your rating now?
RUSH: What is my rating?
RUSH: You mean like PG, X, R, NC-17? What do you mean? You mean audience ratings?
CALLER: Audience rating.
RUSH: You know, this is tough to discuss because we're technically not allowed to give intimate details. But I'll just tell you: through the roof here, Claudette.
CALLER: And what was it before Operation Chaos?
RUSH: Look, they're number one then; they're number one now. They're up. It's actually phenomenal. We've only gotten in the January-February-March rating period, which we in the broadcast business call the "winter book." We only have about 25 markets in -- the top 25, which is 80% of the country in terms of population.
RUSH: It's kick ass!
CALLER: Oh, okay.
RUSH: Is what it is.
CALLER: But --
RUSH: Now, Operation Chaos only started the month of March. I think the next report we'll get is in July. We get monthly reports but those don't... Radio ratings are strange. They're not like television ratings at all, but don't worry about it out there, Claudette. We're expanding in geometric proportions here.
CALLER: I just wanted to tell you that I think that Operation Chaos is silly. It's misleadin'. It's backwards. It's an insult to your listeners and it leads me to question your love of people, your love of country -- and I want you to know: When you say -- say things to really throw everybody in confusion, what do you think when you hear words such as "truth," "honesty," "trust"? What comes to your mind?
RUSH: Truth, honesty --
CALLER: I doubt that.
RUSH: -- trust equals R-U-S-H.
CALLER: Okay! I got that.
RUSH: That's what comes to mind. What in the world...? Claudette, how long have you listened to this program? Everything about this program is done for America.
CALLER: Okay. I was expecting that answer from you, and thank you very much.
RUSH: All right.
RUSH: Bye-bye. What the hell was that, Snerdley? (laughing) Those are the answers that she was expecting? Back to the audio sound bites 'til you straighten it out in there. What is this, an interrogation from a caller? Insult the listeners? Leads me to question my love of people, Operation Chaos? It's all about love of people! It's all about love of country. Everything about this program is about that. You do have to be informed to participate in Operation Chaos. You can't just be a bump on a log out there.
