RUSH: John in Coral Springs, Florida, welcome to the program, sir. Hello.

CALLER: Rush, it’s an honor to speak with ya. How you doing today?

RUSH: Very well, sir. Thank you.

CALLER: Listen, Rush. I’m gonna tell you something, man. I took your advice. I got involved. You know, I got involved when you said go out and do something about it.

RUSH: Yeah?

CALLER: I got myself behind a conservative candidate down here in district 19 in Florida, Edward Lynch, and we have an election, a special election today. You know, we have so many people, regular, ordinary Americans out there trying to get the vote out today. Myself, you know, I’ve knocked on door. I’ve made the phone calls. I’ve . been with people and I was on a walk this weekend and one of my walkers said to me, ‘You know, how come none of the big guys on the radio are flooding our campaign?’ And, you know, I told them. I said, ‘Hey, listen, man., When we win this district do you want them to say it was because of Fox News and because of Rush Limbaugh, or do you want them to say it was because of — ‘

RUSH: All right!’

CALLER: ‘– ordinary Americans like you guys –‘

RUSH: Hey.

CALLER: — that got out there and did the work, did all the grunt work that you need to win elections.

RUSH: Hey, John?

CALLER: That’s what we need to win elections.

RUSH: John?

CALLER: Yes, sir?

RUSH: That is so right on. You are doing the Lord’s work but I’m still going to get involved in this after the break. Hee-hee-hee-hee-hee-hee-hee.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: The special election, it’s for Wexler’s district. Wexler resigned, ostensibly to take a job somewhere. Ed Lynch is the conservative Republican seeking to win the special election today, and our last caller said somebody asked him, ‘How come talk radio, Fox News are not pushing our guy?’ This guy said, ‘We don’t want them taking credit. We want ourselves and the grassroots effort and this guy to get credit for his election victory.’ And that’s good. It’s about time that candidates started depending on themselves and their own armies rather than us. I think that’s wonderful. But this is a great chance nevertheless for a huge pickup. Wexler owned this district even though he never lived there. He lived in Maryland if you’ll recall. This district is always been in the hands of people like Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Wexler and so forth. If this Ed Lynch guy can pull this out today, I’m telling you it would rock Washington and Steny Hoyer and Pelosi much more than you would ever know. So the polls are open to what, seven o’clock, eight o’clock here in Florida, so if you haven’t voted and you’re in the Wexler district, Ed Lynch is the Republican candidate.
