RUSH: You know, I showed up here feeling quite sad today -- yeah, I did -- over the death of Steve Jobs. And then to have to sit here for the last hour and watch this excuse for a press conference, made this a very tough day. We're looking at incompetence on parade.
RUSH: Over all of the years that I've been hosting this program -- 23 -- I have been an evangel for Apple Inc. products. I love them, and one of the things that I have always done on this program is talk about my passions and share my passions with all of you.
RUSH: We have a president here with a perverse mind. Now, let's really sum up this press conference for you, this news conference where no news was made.
RUSH: I could spend an hour trying to develop this, but I'll try to do this quickly.
RUSH: Stop and think, how many jobs exist in the world today because of Steve Jobs?
RUSH: My total anger here is related to big government, oppressive government, leftists, from Bill Clinton to Jimmy Carter, and now Barack Obama wanting to micromanage and centrally plan the private sector economy in this country to the point of eradicating it.
CAIN: I happen to believe that these demonstrations are planned and orchestrated to distract from the failed policies of the Obama administration. Don't blame Wall Street. Don't blame the big banks. If you don't have a job and you're not rich, blame yourself. It is not a person's fault because they succeeded. It is a person's fault if they failed.
RUSH: I have been thinking a lot about Wag the Dog. I bought that movie about a month ago because I hadn't seen it in a long time. We had a caller who suggested that some things happening at the time, I forget what, reminded him of Wag the Dog, and I knew Wag the Dog was the phony creation of a war using television to convince people that a war was going on so they'd support it, fund it, and help an incumbent president get reelected by defending the country, showing the flag and this kind of thing. But there was no war, it was all fake.

Cook County, Illinois, the infamous Democrat stronghold that threw the 1960 election to John Kennedy via the votes of the dead, is back in the news. The Cook County government has now ordered their sheriffs department to ignore the so-called “Secure Communities” program. That’s a federal law stipulating that felony-charged illegal immigrants can be held until the Feds begin the deportation process.
