RUSH: Joe in Albany as we start with you on Open Line Friday today. Hello.

CALLER: (whispering) Hey, Rush. I was telling that… I was saying that the Republican Party are the biggest affirmative action organization for plaque people in America. As long as you’re willing to pretend that, you know, racism doesn’t exist and betray your race, you’re welcomed with open arms. I mean, imagine if, say, Ruth Bader Ginsburg had, uhhh, $700,000 in spousal income from MoveOn.org and then they ruled on some huge bill that MoveOn.org had before them — say, like the Citizens United decision — and Ruth Bader Ginsburg had fraudulently not declared her spouse’s income, uh, from MoveOn.org.
There would be impeachment hearings in the House right now. We’re not seeing any of that with Clarence Thomas, and that’s exactly what happened. His wife took $700,000 from the Heritage Foundation. He went and ruled on Citizens United, which Heritage Foundation had a hand in, and, duhhh, it’s radio silence from you guys.

RUSH: What did Heritage have to do with Citizens United?

CALLER: Uh… She… His… Uh… Ummm… His wife worked at Heritage.

RUSH: What did Heritage have to do with Citizens United?

CALLER: They wanted to see it repealed.

RUSH: So? So did I.

CALLER: (silence) So his wife took —

RUSH: You know what? I’ve had dinner with Ginni Thomas, and I think I bought it.

CALLER: So you’re telling me that Ruth Bader Ginsburg could take $700,000 from MoveOn.org, rule on an issue —

RUSH: I’m gonna tell you here that if you want to open this door, I’ll guarantee you I can find more examples of this kind of chicanery on the left than you can cite. I can find more conflict of interest. Plus, this is the problem with taking calls from people like you: I don’t know how to deal with people like you. There’s no talking to you about the issues. You want to get rid of Clarence Thomas because you know a worthless, unconstitutional piece of legislation might be overturned — might be declared unconstitutional — and you don’t want that. You want an unconstitutional piece of legislation to be declared legal and constitutional.

So you’ll do whatever you have to, follow whatever pied piper type device you get from these left-wing blogs that you read in order to support the supposition that what’s illegal should be made legal. There is nothing constitutional about the individual mandate, and – all these little side issues that you want to try to come up with here to distract from what’s really going on is exactly why this country is never gonna make any progress whatsoever as long as people like you have any power. Because your aim is to tear down this country and to destroy it and remake it in an image that nobody wants and nobody would enjoy. This is pure inanity. Snerdley, you asked me, “What would you say to these protestors?” It’s like talking to a brick wall. Anyway, who’s next? Where we going next? Louie in Denver. Welcome to the EIB Network, sir. Hello.

CALLER: Dittos, Rush. Herman Cain’s comment about a third of the blacks will think for themselves? I don’t think it’s a black thing. It crosses all lines. I’m white. I’ve tried for a long time to talk about conservative topics with my friends, and they all agree on the surface, but when you ask ’em specifics, when it comes down to it, I ask you to vote Republican, “No, I’m a Democrat.” So the brainwashing is everywhere. I’ll state a poll. With today’s economy going on, with what’s going on in today’s economy, how could 40% of the people be happy or approve of what the president’s do doing.

RUSH: Well —

CALLER: And I would like to see Herman not run from it, to use it, turn it around on ’em and say, “Tell me one thing that your president is doing that you like.” Nobody will be able to answer it. That’s brainwashing.

RUSH: The reason they won’t answer is because they don’t want to admit to you that they’re happy to be on the dole. They don’t want to admit it. You got 40%, 47% of the people not paying any income tax, for example. The statistics of the number of households that get some sort of assistance from the government is shocking. The Democrat Party’s been very successful for the last 80 years, 50 years or whatever in creating a whole bunch of dependents. I don’t know, but I don’t think it’s as bad as everybody else thinks. The midterms 2010 wouldn’t-a happened. Obama wouldn’t-a happened if the truth about him and his policies had been part of the campaign. No liberal will ever win a national election being honest about who they are. So this percentage of people who have been brainwashed of the total population, it’s not true — and there are more and more people waking up because they see exactly now what liberalism is. I’m hopeful about this. I just hope that we get a fearless strong conservative nominee to go along with the current situation, because, “Katie, bar the door.” That could blow the roof off.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: This first caller that we had today with his Clarence Thomas, Ginni Thomas, Ruth Bader Ginsburg story and who should be recused from the Supreme Court with Obamacare — by the way, we mentioned a couple of possibilities as to why the regime has asked for a quick review and decision from the Supreme Court on Obamacare. And I want to throw out another possibility. Given where Obama is in the polls, and, folks, it is much worse than the State-Controlled Media polls indicate. I think it’s disastrous. Simple logic would tell us it’s disastrous. We’re on the verge of a depression. The idea that the incumbent president has a chance to be reelected is absurd in those circumstances. Yet the media narrative each day is of course just the opposite because Obama’s their guy and so forth. There’s literally nothing that recommends more of Obama, there’s nothing that has happened.

Larry O’Donnell berating Herman Cain. Herman Cain, if he has a chance, if he’s ever elected president, is gonna end up creating far more jobs than Obama ever has for black people. Look what’s happened to the black unemployment rate since Obama has taken office. The Congressional Black Caucasians are livid at him. And they’re openly saying, “If the president were white, they would be marching on the White House. To hell with this Wall Street bunch.”

So I think it’s worse now. We’re still a year and away from the election, so anything can change, but nobody sees employment getting any better, nobody sees the economy growth rate ratcheting up in ways that would rescue Obama. Even the Democrat pollsters who are honest are talking about how big a hill Obama has to climb here. So they ask for a quick review of Obamacare. One of two ways to look at it. They’re either very confident they’re gonna win this thing, or, given who Obama is, a community organizer who loves agitating people and who is probably very connected, if not personally his regime, to these Wall Street prospects. He’s egging them on, and so is Biden. They’re egging these people on.

So there’s a part of me that says Obama would love the court declaring Obamacare unconstitutional. I think Obama loves playing the victim. I think he would love to take that to the bank and say, “See what they’re doing to your free health care? I had the best health care bill in the world,” all the lies that have been told will come rushing back out and they’ve all been taken away from you now. The evil Republicans and the conservative Supreme Court and this is who they really are and this is what they really want to do, they don’t want you to have health care, they don’t want you to have any money, they want the banks to have all the money, that’s the campaign he’s running now.

If Obamacare is overturned, it adds to that. So you have to ask yourself, at this point what’s more important to him? Obamacare being fully implemented or being reelected? And I think that, contrary to people who think he’s tired of it, job’s beneath him, he’s bored — I don’t buy any of that. I really think Obama can’t wait for a second term. He’s got unfinished business here, and he’s on a roll. Looked at from his standpoint, he is on a roll. And he is asking for more, to do more of what he’s done, $787 billion stimulus, look where it got us. He wants more. He wants bigger government. He wants higher taxes. He wants less freedom for people and less liberty, more money out of your pocket going to government, less economic activity. It’s all there in Saul Alinsky’s book. Everything that’s happening is right out of Alinsky.

I would not put it past ’em, not that they’re openly trying to have it declared unconstitutional, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they would look at it as an opportunity of a sort. Given where Obama is and how he’s campaigning and what he intends to do and how he’s intending to run his campaign, himself a victim. Now, I want to help the liberals. Not that it really matters. But you heard that first caller, the seminar caller. Did that caller get past you, did that caller fool you? Oh, you knew. Well, you were in there throwing a hissy fit, I thought maybe the guy lied to you about who he was. Okay. So he’s up there and he has this analogy, what if Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s husband, $700,000, MoveOn.org, you guys would be calling for impeachment hearings.

Ginni Thomas, the wife of Clarence Thomas, is not on the Supreme Court, and she will not be ruling on Obamacare. She is an independent career woman. She has her own activities, her own interests and views, just exactly like the feminazis want, just exactly like all the liberal feminists in our country want, independence from their husbands, have it all. Clarence Thomas has no conflict, period. He has no conflict whatsoever, regardless what his wife has done for the Heritage Foundation. Let me tell you about Midge Rendell. And I told the caller I could come up with more conflicts of interest on the left. (interruption) That would be the wife, you’re right, of the governor of Pennsylvania, Fast Eddie Rendell

Midge Rendell is on the Third Circuit federal court, Third Circuit federal judge Midge Rendell, a Clinton appointee. She served as that judge while husband Ed was governor of Pennsylvania and while husband Ed was the chairman of the Democrat National Committee. And as chairman of the Democrat National Committee, Fast Eddie was out there raising big bucks from all corners and he was appearing on MSNBC every night. Midge, the judge, his wife, was ruling on all manner of issues in which a case could be made for conflict. And not surprisingly, not a peep from the critics of Clarence Thomas. And Midge Rendell is still on the bench while her husband does analysis on all issues for NBC and MSNBC. And nobody talks about conflict there and nobody talks about conflict when he was at DNC and she’s a judge, governor and she’s a judge, nobody had a problem with that.

Nobody had a problem with the real loon on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, Stephen Reinhardt. His wife is Ramona Ripston, head honcho, ACLU. Nobody had a problem with that. Yeah, Ramona Ripston, Google it. She was in the top two, top three of the ACLU, and she was the wife of Stephen Reinhardt of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Look at the incestuous relationships, for crying out loud. Jay Carney, TIME Magazine, Biden now. He’s over there now as press secretary for Obama.

Let’s talk about Elena Kagan. Elena Kagan is on the Supreme Court. Ginni Thomas isn’t. Elena Kagan is on the Supreme Court. She was the solicitor general of the United States, which means that she was the government’s lawyer at the Supreme Court. She tried cases there, she represented the government. Government was her client. She was involved in helping to develop the legal position for Obamacare. She structured the legal position for Obamacare.

Elena Kagan now is on the US Supreme Court, and one of the reasons she’s there is precisely because of the conflict! She is there because Obama and the Democrats know that the Republicans do not have it in them to say a word it. The Republicans are too “gentlemanly.” The Republicans want to be seen as the most reasonable people in Washington — and it is that, by the way, mentality and quest that led to Eric Holder getting 71 votes for confirmation in the Senate, when everybody knew he had no business being attorney general. But! Obama was The Messiah, he was The One. It was his choice, Republicans didn’t want to make any waves.

It wasn’t the time, and so go ahead and confirm mediocrity — and Elena Kagan ditto. Confirm mediocrity. Obama wants her up there because she has a direct clinic to Obamacare and she’s a solid vote for it, regardless of the law. But she has an actual conflict, which is why she should recuse herself. Clarence does not have a conflict. You can’t make a case that he has a conflict. All these efforts to try and neutralize Elena Kagan’s conflict by bringing up Ginni Thomas is not gonna work. We’re not gonna let it work.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Back to the phones in Miami we go. This is Jose. Jose, great to have you on Open Line Friday. Welcome.

CALLER: Thank you, sir. Thank you for taking my call.

RUSH: You bet.

CALLER: Rush, I just wanted to point out something which has not been said about all these insinuations concerning Judge Thomas, you know, the alleged impropriety arising from his wife’s acceptance of money during the Citizens United decision and whatnot. Nothing he’s done, whether it be the Citizens United case or before has not been inconsistent with his judicial philosophy. It’s not like suddenly he’s made this bizarre turn out of the blue which can only be attributed to perhaps somebody buying his, you know, you know, changing his opinion because of money. So where is the evidence to indicate that his wife —

RUSH: Exactly. There is no evidence. It’s the charge. It’s the seriousness of the charge. It’s all it is. It’s a flailing attempt, a common attempt of the left. It’s a smear. This Citizens United case, that just eats them alive, just bugs the hell out of them, because it allows people that work for corporations to be involved in politics with money. You know, the word “corporation” to the left is almost like the cross to Dracula. They just go batty. They flow the cape over their eyes, and they fly away like bats. They can’t handle it. The Citizens United case was about nothing more than freedom and liberty for people that participate in the political process. Can’t have that.

But you’re absolutely right. Clarence Thomas has been entirely consistent in all of his rulings. That’s another great example of what their real purpose here is. It’s just the seriousness of the charge, let’s have an investigation, let’s make it impossible for Judge Thomas to sit on this case da-da-da-da-da-da-da. ‘Cause they can’t deal with legitimacy. Do you realize, folks, liberalism cannot triumph on a level playing field. It just can’t. And all the liberals know it. By level playing field, I mean if these people would just be honest with what they want. Let me tell you something. If Obama in his campaign had stated his intention to spend all this money, to create all of this debt, to institute these new regulations, to target the drug companies, to have national health care where you lose your health insurance and have to be provided for by government, what do you think woulda happened?

If Obama had told the country just 10% of what he intended to do, would he have been elected? No. He ran a campaign on total bogus premises. Hope, change, unity, lowering the sea levels, the world loving us, all this rotgut crap that’s taught in college these days instead of real stuff, conflict resolution, hope and change. So the game has to be rigged. Has to be. Why do you think they don’t let the military absence ballots in the 2000 recount count? You don’t need me to remind you of all of the ways the left tries to rig the game, ’cause they know they’re a minority. And even when they get power, what do they do? They govern against the will of the people because they don’t have anywhere near a majority of the people with them. If they did, Obama would be celebrated today. Obama would be even more popular than he was when he was elected. The independents would not have abandoned him, if the country was what Obama is, but it’s not. The massive landslide 2010 elections would not have happened, folks.
