RUSH: Deborah in Houston. Deborah, you're next. It's Open Line Friday. Great to have you here.
CALLER: Good morning, Rush. I just wanted to call and give you a little information. I'm a registered nurse, and I was really upset after the health care bill was passed through reconciliation, and I actually sat down and read the whole bill. And the more I read the more fearful I got for the industry I was involved in.
RUSH: How about the country?
CALLER: Yes, sir. Definitely. But, anyway, I was working for the largest health care provider, hospital system in the nation and got out and started looking for a new job, left the position I was in and went to work for a small software company in Houston. On Wednesday night we had our annual town hall meeting and our Christmas party and we were told that all of the outsourced programming positions that our company had been using from China were now insourced and had been moved back to the United States. And the applause broke out and we were just all so excited that, you know, that this occurred, and that our company chose to do that.
RUSH: Does this have something to do with health care?
CALLER: Yes, sir. It's a health care information system, and they go out to small rural community hospitals --
RUSH: I thought you left the company.
CALLER: No, sir, I left the health care hospital corporation --
RUSH: Left the hospital, okay.
CALLER: Yes, sir.
RUSH: Okay. So your point, you're excited they're hiring jobs back that were once outsourced to China?
CALLER: Yes, sir. We are now a hundred percent insourced and we're ecstatic.
RUSH: Okay. So you're interpreting that this is a sign America's still competitive?
CALLER: Oh, yes, sir. You know, the bottom line is, the innovation that our company's CEO had to get this little upstart company rolling, yes, we did have to use the programming there through China for a while, but now he's been able to move all these positions back over to the United States, and we've now got American programmers doing our work for us.
RUSH: Well, you know who's gonna take credit for this.
CALLER: I don't think so.
CALLER: No, sir. Only because things have gotten to the bottom of the barrel.
RUSH: Yeah, but you're calling here, "Hey, this is great news, we're bringing jobs back." Obama's gonna chalk it up, if he hears about this, he's gonna chalk it up to he's in the White House, he's gonna get credit for it.
CALLER: Oh, well, nobody's gonna believe him anyway. I think America's finally woke up.
RUSH: I hope you're right about that. Deborah, thanks for the call. Congratulations, too.
