MSNBC: Employers to Offer Birth Control Without Copays
RUSH: MSNBC just ran a graphic: "Employers to offer birth control without copays." They make it sound like it's their idea! Obama has just mandated, for God's sake! Pardon me. Obama has just mandated it, and now MSNBC is making it look like employers have come up with the idea on their own! The purpose there is to insulate Obama from what's happened here, and that is: The exercise of unconstitutional authority. So MSNBC is trying to make it look like it's employers' idea with the insurance companies to provide free-of-charge contraception, birth control pills, you name it.
US Mail Fail: Dems Want to Treat Bills as Paid Once Postmarked
RUSH: This next story is laugh-out-loud funny, I think. I don't know about you, but I still mail my monthly bills. I have never taken the five hours it would take to set up electronic payment. I just have not. I haven't done it. As much as I love computers, as much as I love playing with computers, I haven't taken the time to do that, and I don't let anybody else do it. Kathryn and I do it ourselves. That's it. Nobody else. So just haven't taken the time to -- I still mail bills. From TheHill.com: (laughing) "Eight House Democrats on Thursday proposed legislation that would require companies to consider bills as 'paid' once they are postmarked," because the Post Office is so lousy at delivering mail. The Post Office can't do its job. The Post Office is so bad, and its government-run, it's union staffed.
So now we have to have a law mandating that your bill is paid the date it's postmarked, not when the company gets it. And the law is a piece of legislation that will mandate that companies make this change, that you get credit for paying your bill on the date it's postmarked rather than the date they receive it. "Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.), the lead sponsor of the bill, said USPS has announced service cutbacks that would eliminate the chance of next-day mail service for letters dropped in home mailboxes and would slow down all first-class mail. Cohen said his bill would make it easier for people to avoid late fees when they choose to mail their bills, by treating these bills as 'paid' as soon as they are received by a Post Office." See, this is how your brilliant government solves its problems:

Santorum on Climate Change: We are the Truth Party
RUSH: Santorum made his speech today at CPAC. Also, from ThePolitico.com, this was from last night, some of the show prep that I was doing. He said something about the global warming issue that I'll tell you, made my heart sing. He said, "You hear all the time the left say, 'Oh, those conservatives are the anti-science party.' No, we're not. We're the truth party. The left is always looking for a way to control you. They're always trying to make you feel guilty so that you'll give them power so they can lord it over you. They do it on the environment all the time." It was a speech, remarks he made about how the energy wackos distort the truth, and he's so right about this. They call people that don't believe in the global warming hoax "deniers" and so forth.
And he's doubly right: The way they get people to drive these little electric cars, the way they get people to accept tax increases and the way they get people to do all this silly stuff to "save the planet" is to blame them for it. Guilt them. "You have caused climate change! It's not your fault. You didn't know. All those big cars and all the pollution and all the other things, the food that you're eating..." I mentioned the other day this guy, one of the former big believers in manmade global warming. He was a participant in the UN's IPCC, the International Panel on Climate whatever it was, and he's written a book saying he feels duped by the whole movement now.
And one of the examples he gave was: When I read that some blogger made a point on a blog and the United Nations accepted it as "science," that we need to stop eating beef grown in Argentina because it's contributing to global warming, he said (paraphrased), "I'm not gonna be a fool here. I'm not gonna keep my name attached to this kind of insanity." Yet how many people -- well-intentioned, duped people -- believe that eating beef leads to manmade global warming? That's part of the left's attempt to guilt you into accepting blame so that you will then "become part of the solution," be a good person: Raising taxes, giving up some of your freedom and so forth to save the planet. Santorum is dead on right. I hope he keeps talking in this vein, hope he keeps talking this way, 'cause in addition to being right it is also confidence inspiring among voters.
Dinner Served at 200 California Schools
RUSH: Now, there's one other story here. Here it is. As you know, we got in trouble on this program for making fun of "school dinner" in Memphis. The local Memphis media got ticked off, started running reports of what I was saying, essentially laughing about what they were doing. The Huffing and Puffington Post. "You've heard about free school lunches and breakfasts, but how about school suppers? In California, dinners are now being served to students at almost 200 schools. These California schools are joining a new federally-funded effort to provide three meals a day to children from low-income families who also attend after-school programs across the state. When Congress passed the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act near the end of 2010..."
The Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act. Because, folks, "A survey in 2010 by the United States Department of Agriculture found that 15% of American households were "'food insecure.'" It's right there:15% of households are "food insecure." Yet at the same time, we got Moochelle Obama worried about obesity! Did you see what she did? She went to some military place. She's getting on the military for being obese. She's telling the military to stop eating. How can you be obese and be in the military? That doesn't compute. Anyway, she's doing that. So now school dinner at 200 California schools. (interruption) Well, that's right.
Kids in California at school lunch, Snerdley, are refusing to eat the healthful stuff. They're throwing it all away. Part of the story here is -- folks, honest to Pete. They whine and moan: A child will not eat an apple because the child was told that the peel is bad for you and doesn't know how to peel an apple. So they spent time in class showing students how to peel an apple. And that wasn't even anything about abortion or contraception or condoms. That was just how to peel an apple so the students would eat it because too many students were eating fruit packed in fructose syrup, all kinds of sugar. It's insane. Is literally insane what's going on in the American school system today and how education being bastardized.
