One in Ten Employers Plan to Drop Health Care
RUSH: The Wall Street Journal: "Around one in 10 employers in the U.S. plans to drop health coverage for workers in the next few years as the bulk of [Obamacare] begins, and more indicated they may do so over time, according to a study to be released Tuesday by consulting company Deloitte." It used to be Deloitte & Touche. Do you know that? It used to be Deloitte & Touche. I don't know what happened to Touche. I guess Deloitte ate Touche, or Deloitte consumed Touche.
You gotta be sure and pronounce the T there on that. Anyway, "The majority of Americans under age 65 who have health insurance get it through [the boss]. A big question about the law is whether companies will continue to offer coverage after" Obamacare implements fully in 2014. Look, this is light. This one in ten will drop health care coverage? It's far more than that who are going to drop health care coverage.
Pretty much everything you've been told about keeping your doctor -- "if you like your plan, you get to keep it" -- is gonna be out the window. And I think the vast majority of people know it. I think that's one of the reasons there's such fear and opposition to Obamacare. Now, I think Deloitte's link to this... And I'm only mentioning this because now the official surveyors are starting to weigh in on this. This was known during the debate on health care even before it passed.
More Americans on Disability
RUSH: Cybercast News Service: "The number of workers taking federal disability insurance payments hit yet another record in July, increasing to 8,753,935 during the month from the previous record of 8,733,461 set in June..." So 20,000 new people are on disability. This is from the Social Security Administration. It'll also be interesting to see if the number of new jobs went up 20,000 in July. So more people are signing up for disability than are getting jobs in America. Now, I have to tell you, folks: I have not yet come to the belief that this is something that people want to do. I don't believe that a majority of these people want to live their lives this way. Obama and the Democrats are banking on the fact that people do.
I have not yet been persuaded that we've lost the country to that degree.
I don't think this is good for Obama.
A lot of people do.
