AP Poll Oversampled Dems by 13%
RUSH: There was a CBS poll last Friday, oversampled Democrats by 13. "AP-GfK Poll: Obama job approval numbers back up above 50 percent, but race with Romney still tight." This is a story about an oversampled poll. This story is 32 paragraphs long. This story on a poll result, 1200 words, almost twice as long as your average op-ed column. Don't tell me the AP isn't nervous about the outcome in November. They're writing 1200-word stories on polls. But let me just tell you, before you begin to doubt your own sanity, be aware that the Associated Press has oversampled Democrats in this poll by 13%. I think it's exactly the same 13% that the CBS/New York Times poll oversampled Democrats that was released last Friday.
For total voters they polled, Democrats, 50%; Republicans, 37%; independents, 7%. The independent number, 7%, is so low because the poll lumps in independent leaners with Democrats and Republicans. But still, the sample in this poll is Democrat -- and they're projecting that that's the vote turnout in November. That's why they do the sample this way. So AP is telling us that on Election Day in November, half the turnout's gonna be Democrats, 37% of the turnout's gonna be Republicans, and 7% of the turnout is gonna be independents. Do you believe that? Well, these are the stretches that they are going to in order to be able to report what they are reporting.
The Question Romney Answered in Fundraiser Video
RUSH: Oh, I forgot the question that Mitt Romney was asked. Let me do that or I'll forget it again. Here's the question that Romney was asked that got the 47% response. It's a male voice on the tape. "For the past three years, all everybody's been told is: 'Don't worry, we'll take care of it.' What are we going to do it in two months before the election to convince everybody that you have to take care of yourself?" That was the question Romney got. He's got a big donor here, somebody that's given a lot of money, and the guy's fed up.
Because when he says, "Don't worry, we'll take care of it," that's the regime telling the American people that. That's the White House, Obama, saying, "Don't worry. We'll take care of it." And this guy wants to know how Romney's gonna turned this around in two months; how is Romney gonna convince everybody that you gotta take care of the yourself. This donor wants to hear Romney talk about self-reliance. This donor thinks that it's a winning subject.
This donor wants to know what Romney's gonna do, how in two months he's gonna get people to start thinking the way people in this country have always thought since the days of the founding: Self-reliance. Romney was being asked: How are you gonna convince people they need to take care of the themselves? Therefore, his answer came: Well, 47% of 'em, according to polls, are not paying taxes and are content with the government taking care of them or what have you. Only 33% of the 47% are getting the non-earned entitlements, welfare, food stamps, and so forth.
This is why I just instinctively knew that this was a golden opportunity, the question posed by a donor.
Muslim Rips Bible, Christians to Riot, Right?
RUSH: RUSH: Uh-oh. Uh-oh, ladies and gentlemen, uh-oh, uh-oh, looky here: "Muslim Cleric Rips Bible At Riot Outside the US Embassy in Cairo -- During the demonstration which was held in front of the American Embassy in Cairo on Tuesday, 9/11, a Muslim cleric named Abu Islam tore and burned the Holy Bible." Well, that's it. You know the Christians are gonna burn buildings down now. That's it. Christian riots are... oh, wait, never mind, that didn't happen. My fears are ill placed.
