Obama: Debate Prep is a Drag
RUSH:  You know, show prep is such a drag.  I wish I could be out playing golf.  Yeah, yeah, they're making me do it.  Everybody is making me stay in and do show prep, but I really want to be out there playing golf.  I'm thinking, you know, why even prep?  Why not just show up here and start saying whatever pops into my mind and then hope that my buddies in the media cover for me.  Obama says it's a drag preparing for the debate.

RUSH: Obama is in Vegas.  He's at a resort in Vegas.  He's preparing for the debate, and it's a drag.  He doesn't want to be doing this.  He's told everybody, (imitating Obama) "Can I have a prompter?" "No, you can't have a prompter.  "Oh, okay."  He doesn't want to do it. He doesn't want to prep it. He wants to ad-lib it and hope the media will cover for him. They're putting out the news that he's not a good debater. They're setting everybody up for massive Obama failure, massive Obama embarrassment in the debate.  Romney's gonna smoke him, oh, it's a bloodletting, it's gonna be horrible.  Now all Obama has to do is show up and the media will praise his wonderful performance, but our microphones are in the debate preparation room.

(playing of spoof)

What could it all end up being, folks?  The media's right.  It could be a huge bump in the road.

(playing of spoof song)

How many times has Obama been to Vegas, and tells everybody else not to go?

(Continued playing of song)

It's the EIB Network, with El Rushbo.

(continued playing of song)

Obama has been to Vegas 16 times --

(continued playing of song)

-- since telling us that we can't go there anymore back in 2009.

Fleeing California
RUSH: This is from Steven Greenhut, Human Events.  "Why Are People Fleeing California?"  It's a story about the economic collapse of California, and California's a microcosm for the rest of the country.  It could be a book, but you print it out and it's a two and a half page story.  And you read a story like this and then you, again, put yourself in the place of the American people, and say, "Why can't Americans look at what's happening in California or look at what's happening in Detroit or look at what's happening in Chicago?"  What's happening in Chicago is that black kids are being murdered in record numbers, and nobody's doing anything about it.

So why can't Americans look at California? Well, again, I hate to be a broken record, but if the only media that they pay attention to is not gonna tell 'em about it... They're never gonna read Human Events, the people I'm talking about. We just don't know how many they are. We don't know what percentage of the population it is that simply watches the evening newscasts or reads the papers and that's it.

But you don't see stories there about the problems in California. You don't see stories there about the problems in Detroit or Chicago or anywhere else. You don't even see stories about the truth of what happened in Libya, for crying out loud, much less Fast and Furious. Do you realize how many people...? Well, we don't know how many people it is. That's the question. The level of ignorance in this country -- and I don't mean stupidity in this case.

I mean, there's plenty of that, too. But just straight, across-the-board ignorance. And you pull your hair out. You pay attention to all this stuff, you are engaged as you can be, and it's simply unbelievable to you that there are people who don't know this stuff. But there are. And that, again, it is yet another (if needed it) illustration/explanation of how the media also influences stories by not doing things.

PA Judge Reverses Himself on Voter ID
RUSH: Yhere's a story that broke out of Pennsylvania today that has a lot of people up in arms.  "A Pennsylvania judge Tuesday ordered state officials not to enforce the state’s tough new voter ID law in the coming election, saying there was not enough time to ensure that some voters would not be disenfranchised."
Now, let me tell you what really happened in this case.  The judge in this case upheld the law.  He was appealed to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.  The Pennsylvania Supreme Court essentially reversed this judge.  It's about two weeks ago, and their order to him in the reversal made it nearly impossible for him to uphold the law.  They sent it back to him with instructions that made it impossible for him to uphold the law as he had the first time.  So the judge -- name is Robert Simpson -- upheld the law. The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania essentially tied his hands, sent it back to him.  I'm giving you the CliffsNotes version.  He had to reverse himself because of the way the Supreme Court sent it back.

It's an example of court corruption.  The courts are upholding illegal immigration.  They're upholding illegal voting.  The courts are upholding unconstitutional health care laws.  I mean, the system is imploding.  The financial system is imploding.  The legal system is imploding.  The media's gone.  The media's been totally taken over.  Simpson upheld this law back on August 15th.  Don't get mad at this judge.  The way the stories are written today, this judge upheld the law.  August 15th.  This is a Pennsylvania Supreme Court decision.  This is the left.  This is what they do even when they lose elections.  They have people, they have their activists, they have their radicals in lifetime positions on the courts, in the bureaucracy, and this is how they do it.

Feds Buy Prison: Will Obama Close Gitmo in 2nd Term?
RUSH: Fox News was covering the purchase of the Thompson prison in Illinois. Does that ring a bell? I can look at Snerdley. I know it does. His mind is churning. "Thompson prison... Thompson prison... Where have I heard Thompson prison?" That's the prison Obama wants to transfer Gitmo detainees to because New York wouldn't take 'em. So he bought this prison or wanted to buy this prison in Illinois and transfer Gitmo detainees there.

Congress denied them the funding to buy Thompson, but the executive branch has bought it anyway. That's the story on Fox. Obama went ahead and bought the prison. The deal was just consummated today. From the Chicago Sun-Times: "Done Deal: Feds to Buy Thomson Prison From State for $165 Million." So we have another end run around Congress. And if Obama's not reelected, this means it's a dead certainty that the Gitmo detainees he hasn't already freed will be put there.

NFL Players Debate Gay Marriage
RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, do you remember, there was a controversy that erupted some weeks ago in the locker room of the Baltimore Ravens.  A player was on social media advocating for gay marriage.  A black state legislator in Maryland contacted the owner of the Ravens, Steve Bisciotti, and asked him to tell the player to stop talking about things like that, we don't need that.  It was a Democrat.  A black legislator called the Ravens, "You can't have sports people talking about stuff like that. You ask this guy to shut up."

The punter for the Minnesota Vikings, Chris Kluwe, wrote a long post making fun of the legislator.  And then the story went away, until recently.  Matt Birk, center, Baltimore Ravens, wrote a column, Minneapolis Star Tribune in which he says he is opposed to gay marriage and that most NFL players are opposed to gay marriage and he doesn't want people thinking that most of the players in the NFL are for gay marriage.  I kid you not.  Birk used to play for Minnesota.  He's now the center for the Ravens.

RUSH:  Matt Birk, the center for the Baltimore Ravens, formally of the Minnesota Vikings, wrote in his op-ed in the Minneapolis Star Tribune, quote, "I think it's important to set the record straight about what the marriage debate is and is not about and to clarify that not all NFL players think redefining marriage is a good thing," close quote.  Politics and culture in the NFL.  I didn't think that was permitted.

Doctors for Romney
RUSH: Daily Caller: "A new survey shows Mitt Romney with a commanding lead over President Barack Obama among doctors, with Obamacare helping to sway their votes.  If the election were held today, 55 percent of physicians reported they would vote for Romney while just 36 percent support Obama."  How in the hell does he have 36% of 'em?  You know what bugs me?  All these doctors -- well, I don't know about all.  How many of them did vote for Obama knowing full well that Obamacare was coming?  Do you realize how many people voted for this guy in 2008 just because they thought they should have, because of what it would say about them, that they were open-minded, they weren't racist or bigoted, and they mighta hoped that it might actually mean the end of racism in the country and so forth. I mean, I'll take 'em, don't misunderstand, but I'm not all that impressed with these Johnny-come-lately types.  It was lonely out there, January 16th, 2009.

Well, those doctors thought Obama was gonna help them?  I'd like to know how, after what we went through with HillaryCare, how any doctor would think that nationalized medicine helps them, given what's happening in Medicare already.

Well, okay, that's right, where did they go to school?

iPhone Maps
RUSH: I'm checking the battery is what I'm doing. I got my new iPhone 5 here. I'm checking the battery on it. It's a amaz... Well, I'd love tell you what I think about it, but I know people get upset when I start talking about football or golf or Apple. So I'll put it aside, 'cause what they're doing this maps business is over the top. It's not that bad. Actually, I like the maps program on the iPhone, the iOS 6. It's not bad.

You know, the media is the same no matter where you go. It's just unreal to look at some of the... I don't know what I would call it. This hysterical, anti-Apple bias that exists in some of the tech media out there is breathtaking to behold. They hate 'em! They hate 'em. They just like they hate anybody who's successful at the top. They have to knock 'em off, except when whoever's in the top is a liberal, then that gets thrown aside.

Breitbart: Regime Ignored Multiple Requests for More Benghazi Security
RUSH: Breitbart is reporting now: "Multiple Requests for Increased Security [in Benghazi] Denied by Washington -- The security lapses in Benghazi that led to the death of Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans trace back to security decisions made in Washington. That's the message of a letter Rep. Darrell Issa sent to Secretary Clinton Tuesday. The letter indicates that the US mission in Libya made repeated request for increased security prior to the September 11th attack but that these requests were denied."

Now, earlier in this program we had a call for a retired Army Ranger whose theory was that the additional security or any security was denied because the Obama campaign did not want dead bodies anywhere in the Muslim world on 9/11. They didn't want any dead. They were concerned about the optics, 'cause they figured if our side isn't armed, if we don't arm anybody, then they can't fire at anybody. They can't be fired upon and nobody dies.

It's just silly.

It's stupid liberalism: A flawed worldview that taints a policy. But the bottom line is, requests for security were made because there were perceived additional threats, and the White House denied it. Or the campaign.

It's hard to separate the two.

Akin CAN Defeat McCaskill
RUSH: Ex-senator Kit Bond is now backing Todd Akin in Missouri.  Akin refused to go, and now a bunch of people led by Kit Bond -- well, not a bunch, but a trickle of support here for Todd Akin.  And, by the way, folks, he can win.  Todd Akin can beat Claire McCaskill, Senate seat in Missouri.  Do not think that that cannot happen.

Grahamnesty Takes Stand on Lockheed
RUSH: "Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) says that he will do anything he can to block the Obama administration from reimbursing defense contractors for severance costs if the firms don’t send layoff notices to employees."  This is about Lockheed.  Obama has promised Lockheed something.  They're supposed to send out layoff notices based on sequestration and so forth.  Obama doesn't want those notices going out before the election, obviously, and he's leaned on 'em, promised them something.  And Senator Graham says he's gonna do whatever he can to block them from reimbursing these defense contractors, like Lockheed or anybody else, for the severance costs.  This is a big issue, another big issue not being reported accurately or hardly at all.
