Pearls of Wisdom

"I would love to be wrong about the fact that Obama is trying to reform and transform this country into something other than the way it was founded. I just don't see any evidence of that, is my only problem."

"I'm dumbfounded by this. I'm perplexed. I am totally confused, because I need somebody to explain to me why Obama cares about not having a recession in his second term. Where is the evidence that Barack Obama cares about economic growth in the sense that you and I care about it?"

"Fifty years from now, do you think Obama is gonna be worried about what's written? 'Yeah, recession in his second term, horrible economy.' Do you think that's what Obama's aiming for? I think Obama is looking for historians to write about the historic transformation of this country. The ultimate shattering of capitalism. That's the legacy he's seeking."

"Obama is hell-bent on raising taxes on everybody. And the reason for that is that it shrinks the private sector and grows government, and that's what his objective is. That's growth to him."

"Somebody needs to get hold of Reuters and remind them, 'Hey, you know what? You won. You don't have to continue to do stories showing 399,000 applications for unemployment is good news.' But they're doing it, because they're in a perpetual campaign mode because Obama's continuing to try to sell what he wants to do."

"Could somebody explain to me -- could somebody show me -- where Obama has, at any time, formulated policy or made statements that would successfully reduce the annual budget deficit or the overall national debt? It's just the opposite."

"I don't care where you go, and this is not a criticism. I'm actually looking at this in wonderment. I don't care where you go. It could be a left-wing blog or right-wing blog, a left-wing magazine, a right-wing magazine, a left-wing newspaper, right-wing newspaper, they're all analyzing these negotiations in the same way: Can Obama prevail over the Republicans?"

"Would somebody explain to me how the people who elected Obama, who support Obama, who love Obama in the media, in the universities, who write the history, are going to write anything critical of the guy no matter what happens? Even if there is a second term recession, you're gonna need a telescope to find it reported, just like you need a telescope to find Oprah's network now."

"You will never hear these words said about or associated with any current Republican leader: clever, brilliant, masterful, feared, charismatic. All of those words are applied to the Democrats. Every one of those words is applied to Obama. There isn't room in the media narrative for any of those words to be attached to a Republican leader."

"I think Obama is looking for historians to write about the historic transformation of this country. The ultimate shattering of capitalism. That's the legacy he's seeking."

"I think Obama's interested in growth, but he wants government growth. He wants growth of the state."

"I think going over the cliff is the Democrat agenda, and it's not ours, and that's why we shouldn't be in the car when it's going over the cliff. He should be driving."

"Get in on the class war, Republicans. The governing class isn't paying their fair share is what's happening here. The governing class is getting away with blaming the working class."

"See, I believe that going over the cliff is the Democrat Party's agenda. I believe tax increases on everybody is the Democrat Party agenda, including the middle class. They don't talk about that."

"I think for the Democrat Party, the way they look at things, going over the cliff is a win-win."

"I'm telling you, a majority of the people that voted in this country to reelect Barack Obama will not have a problem with Obama claiming ownership of your 401(k). It's only fair. It's only redistributionist."

"I have some ideas for the Republicans. One of the ideas I have would be to tie all federal pensions to any income tax increase, specifically eliminate federal pensions. My point is, why should we have our taxes raised so that federal employees' pensions are fully funded and not threatened? We are the ones paying these people. Why are their incomes and why are their pensions so much more important than ours?"

"If anybody believes that the government ever really ran a surplus, then you need to be sent to a reeducation camp. Ain't no way, Jose."

"I'm telling you, if a vast majority of college students, students at institutions of higher learning think The Daily Show is the real news, and if the rest of them think that Two and a Half Men is worth their time, then you can make them believe anything about Republicans."
