NYC's Free Condom Plan Turns Five
RUSH: New York City is marking five years of handing out free condoms. They did this on February 15th. "New York City this week marked the fifth anniversary of a groundbreaking free condom program that has distributed tens of millions free rubbers, under the racy slogan 'NYC Condoms -- Get Some!' NYC brand Condoms, launched on Valentine’s Day 2007," and they're keeping records. Five years of handing out free condoms.
Dr. Jerry Buss Passes Away
RUSH: Well, breaking news here, ladies and gentlemen. The owner of the Los Angeles Lakers has passed away. Jerry Buss. Dr. Jerry Buss, age 80. He had been battling cancer. He has passed away, and I would normally make a prediction about media coverage, but I don't know'
Global Warming Activists Protest in Freezing Cold Washington
RUSH: Now, about this global warming... (chuckling) I wonder if Algore was in town because these environmentalist wackos showed up to protest on the coldest day of the year. They protested climate change, and global warming. "Environmental [wackos] gathered on the National Mall in Washington, DC Sunday and marched on the White House for a climate change rally largely aimed at pressuring President Obama to reject the Keystone XL oil sands pipeline." They don't have to do that much. I don't even know why they're protesting him. He's probably not going to okay it even now.
"Organizers said 35,000 activists attended the rally, where speakers portrayed the battle over the pipeline as a struggle between grassroots green groups and deep-pocketed special interests. 'They've got the lobbyists. They've got the super-PACs. They made the campaign contributions. They've got this town in their pockets --they have got the situation under control. And then you show up. And then we show up. And we change the game,' Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) told the crowd not long before it marched on the White House."
So, once again the environmentalist wackos -- who are themselves a very-deep pocketed, very-powerful lobby -- are being spoken to as though there are powerful forces behind the curtain pulling the strings and the levers.
But regardless, they show up on the coldest day.
