How Much of Your Money Did Biden Spend in Europe?
RUSH: How's this even possible? Five-hundred-and-eighty-five thousand, one night in Paris, Joe Biden. The night before in London, Joe Biden, $459,000. So two nights in two hotels, Paris and London, the vice president shelled out a million dollars. Well, he didn't, because he doesn't have it. We did.
I don't know how many people are in Biden's traveling party. I've been trying to find out. But $585,000, it was at the five-star Hotel Intercontinental. So $585,000 a night. London the night before was $459,000. We're in the middle of a sequester, budget cuts left and right. They are going to announce closing 200 airport control towers this afternoon. They've announced they are going to name the 200 they are going to close.
The Easter egg roll at the White House is off and on. We don't know. One percent defense budget cuts. Spending $150 million to upgrade Club Gitmo. And there's a funny story.
RUSH: Now, Biden would have had somebody call or probably flown there and spent a half million dollars overnight with a traveling party to cancel the newspaper delivery the next day. I still can't get over that. I don't care how many people are in your traveling party, to spend $585,000 for one night even in a five-star? It's the Intercontinental in Paris. I'm having a mental block on the name of the hotel. But, folks, and can I tell you another reason they spend this much? Can I tell you why?
In addition to the entitlement, in addition to the fact that our leaders today consider themselves members of the aristocracy, there is another reason, and that is that these guys know they'll never be able to pay for anything like this themselves. I don't care what private sector gig Biden gets when this is all over, he'll never be able to take a bunch of friends, $585,000 worth, for one night in Paris. He'll never, ever be able to afford that on his own. So it doesn't matter. He's entitled. He's the vice president. He's a member of the aristocracy! Take a look at these charitable donations and you'll find there are three figures, $150 here, $25 there.
They love to spend other people's money on themselves, not just on other people.
RUSH: The hotel in Paris where Biden stayed is the Intercontinental Le Grand and in London it was the Hyatt Regency. They spent $585,000 for one night in Paris, and in London it was $459,000. You couldn't come close to that hitting the minibar, even at those exorbitant prices. Now, I understand they took out the whole hotel. So that might put it in some sort of perspective, but what's that for? You know, Obama has...? What did I see? He's got a traveling party of 600 in Israel. I think I saw that number. They've taken out two hotels and whatever else they need. It'd be funny if they were staying in some settlements in the West Bank.
Gitmo Gets an Upgrade
RUSH: The Washington Post, or maybe the New York Times, about how disappointed the inmates are that they're not getting out. They believed Obama was going to close it. He's not going to close it. So $150 million to upgrade it.
Professor Makes Students “Stomp on Jesus”
RUSH: "A Florida Atlantic University student said he was punished after he refused a professor's directive to stomp on a piece of paper with the word 'Jesus' written on it. The university, meanwhile, is defending the assignment as a lesson in debate. 'I'm not going to be sitting in a class having my religious rights desecrated,' student Ryan Rotela told television station WPEC," Channel 12. "'I truly see this as I'm being punished.' Rotela, who is a devout Mormon, said the instructor in his Intercultural Communications class..."
Now, what do you think that is? "Intercultural Communications class." That's kind of obvious. They're trying to try to teach people who are from majorities how to speak to and understand minorities. It's basically just how to get along with minorities, but this is a college course. He said the instructor in this course, intercultural communications, "told the students to write the name 'Jesus' on a sheet of paper. Then, they were told to put the paper on the floor.
"'He had us all stand up and he said "Stomp on it,"' Rotela said. 'I picked up the paper from the floor and put it right back on the table. The young college student told the instructor, Deandre Poole, that the assignment was insulting and offensive. 'I said to the professor, "With all due respect to your authority as a professor, I do not believe what you told us to do was appropriate," Rotela said. "I believe it was unprofessional and I was deeply offended by what you told me to do."'"
That's a keyword because isn't it the case that wherever we go in our culture, if somebody is offended by something, it must stop? Well, apparently not! If a Christian is offended, tough toenails. If a conservative is offended, too bad. "Get used to it! Now you know what other people feel like." But minorities are not allowed to be offended any day and not only are they not allowed to be offended, we stop and change everything when they are.
So when the professor, Deandre Poole, did not listen to the student, "Rotela took his concerns to Poole's supervisor -- where he was promptly suspended from the class." That's the piece de resistance! He was suspended! They had him write "Jesus" on a piece of paper, put it on the floor in the class, and he had to stomp on it. They all had to do it, but he refused to do it. He complained; he was suspended from class.
"According to his university profile, he has a PhD from Howard University and is authoring a book titled, 'Obamamania: The Rise of a Mythical Hero.'" The bottom line is that Deandre Poole is a Democrat and vice chairman of the Palm Beach County Democrat Party. The Vice Chairman of the Palm Beach County Democrat Party, is also a university professor instructing students to write the name "Jesus" on a piece of paper and then stomp on it. This is at Florida Atlantic University. You know where that is, don't you? (interruption)
Yeah, it's right down there.
It's right down there. Exactly right. Did you know that Eastern Florida Southern State or whatever it is is in Tampa? No there is some weird, south Florida little college in Tampa. Anyway, so the university is backing the professor, but here's the question. What if the professor said, "I want you to write down the name 'Mohammed' on a piece of paper and then I want you all to put the paper on the floor and I want you to stomp on it"? If there were an Islamic student in that class who said, "I'm offended by it," they would fire the professor or put him on some sort of sensitivity training leave.
You don't need me to fill in the blanks for you.
You can do it.
Parents Outraged Over Porta-Potties
RUSH: "Los Angeles -- Parents were outraged their children were forced to use portable toilets after a plumbing problem caused a sewage backup at a South Los Angeles elementary school. The incident happened Tuesday morning at 107th Street Elementary... The Los Angeles Unified School District said a clogged pipe forced the sewage to spill into the kitchen and into several student bathrooms." So they had to bring in Porta-Potties for one day and the parents went berserk. "It's unsanitary. It's disgusting," said one parent. "If I didn’t come and drop off my daughter here, I would have never known this was happening because the school is not calling and letting the parents know that there are 20 (portable toilets) for them to use."
What are these kids going to use at the local concert?
From Port St. Lucie, Florida. You remember what's famous about Port St. Lucie, don't you, other than the fact that the Mets routinely engage in spring wishful thinking there? Three years ago, a woman went into a McDonald's in Port St. Lucie and ordered some chicken McNuggets -- and when they didn't have any, she called 911, thinking she was reaching Obama to complain about it. So Port St. Lucie is on our radar as having a unique population that does unique things. So here we go.
Port St. Lucie Wife Flips Out on Husband
RUSH: "A Port St. Lucie woman was arrested after she allegedly threatened to kill her husband when he returned from a trip to Brazil bearing no gifts for her. ... Sandra Leites Guedes, 36, was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault and taken to the St. Lucie County Jail following the March 2 incident When her husband went to another room to check on the items, she followed him but also had a 12-inch knife in her hand and said, 'if you go back into the bedroom I am going to kill you and tell the police you harmed me,'" according to the police report, all because the guy came back from a business trip to Brazil and did not bring her anything.
Sex Week at University of Tennessee
RUSH: "Organizers of the University of Tennessee's first-ever 'Sex Week' will have to find a new source of funding after embattled university officials reversed course and announced they will not fund the controversial program with state tax dollars. 'We support the process and the students involved, but we should not use state funds in this manner,' Chancellor Jimmy Cheek said in a statement. Cheek made the announcement after reviewing 'Sex Week's' final agenda. As a result, the student-led event will be forced to find $11,145 in additional funding.
"The university will continue to let the group use $6,700 in student fees. ... Sex Week is scheduled for April 7-12 and includes 30 events including..." Uh, if you are bothered by discussions of sex or if you have a young child listening and you'd rather them not hear what's coming next, change the station. I don't want to shock anybody. I'm not here to offend anybody. I'm going to count down from five and you'll know to go away for a while, then come back after that. If you stay around after I count down from five and you're still here, you have no reason to complain.
You've been warned, all right?
Here are some of the 30 events that were scheduled for Sex Week at the University of Tennessee which has been suspended by chancellor Jimmy Cheek: "'Getting Laid,' 'Sex Positivity; Queer as a Verb,' 'Bow Chicka Bow Woah,' 'How to talk to Your Parents About Sex,' 'Loud and Queer,' and 'How Many Licks Does it Take...[?]' -- a workshop about oral sex." Those are the events planned for Sex Week at the University of Tennessee, and don't forget: The chancellor, Jimmy Cheek, said, "Look, we understand the process and we support it and the students involved but we shouldn't use state money for this."
Snerdley, off the top of your head, How Many Licks Does It Take...? What do you think that's a course on? (Laughing.) Think of the silicon swirl and you might, might have it.
Sequester? Obama Gives Jordan $200 Million for Syrian Refugees
RUSH: King Abdullah of Jordan just said Syrian refugees are costing him $500 million and Obama said (paraphrasing), "That's okay. We'll give you $200 million to help defer it." What happened to our sequester? How can he just authorize $200 million for Syrian refugees in Jordan?
RUSH: King Abdullah today -- I did hear this. King Abdullah and Obama, they had a joint press over there. King Abdullah of Jordan was complaining that it's costing him $500 million now to absorb the Syrian refugees, and it might go all the way up to $1 billion. Obama said, "All right, we'll pick up $200 million of it to help you." We're in a sequester! So Biden spent $500,000 for one night in Paris and now Obama says, "Okay, here's a couple of hundred mil' for Syrians."
We're on the cusp for the Easter Egg Roll and the White House tours, but we'll give these guys $200 million to help the Syrian refugees? You know what my question for King Abdullah of Jordan is? "Why don't you take the Palestinians? If the Palestinians want a homeland, there's Jordan. It's right there." Oh no! Nobody wants the Palestinians. Nobody wants that solved, either, by the way, folks. Nobody wants that. Arafat was offered everything he asked for by Slick Willie, and he turned it down. Just like Obama was offered everything he wanted by Boehner, at one point, and turned it down. That was before the fiscal cliff or some such thing.
