RUSH: Mary in Mountain Home, Arkansas, great to have you on the EIB Network. Hello.

CALLER: Hello. My husband takes kidney dialysis and there’s a 12.3% cut be proposed and the center is not sure they can make it on that cut, and our local hospital, which is fabulous, possibly a closure in 2017, again, they’re not being fully reimbursed by Medicare.

RUSH: Wait. Obamacare is supposed to fix that.

CALLER: Well, it’s getting serious. You hear about like unemployment, you know, and you feel for those, but when it gets close to home, you know, then you feel it.

RUSH: No, Obamacare, you want dialysis, you’re gonna get it, and it’s either gonna be free or cost less than what it costs you now. That’s what I thought.

CALLER: They’re worried down at the center, let’s put it that way.

RUSH: Why?

CALLER: Because they can’t make it on a 12.3% cut.

RUSH: Why are they being cut? Obamacare is supposed to take care of all that.

CALLER: I don’t know.

RUSH: Well, that’s not supposed to happen. Hospital’s getting cut? Medical centers being cut?

CALLER: I think my husband deserves better. He’ll be 79 in 29 days.

RUSH: Uh-oh.

CALLER: He’s served in the Marines in Korea in a tent during the war at 19 below zero.

RUSH: I am being facetious with you, as you know. This is happening precisely because Obamacare is increasing everybody’s costs.

CALLER: Right.

RUSH: Your hospital can’t afford it because they can’t comply with Obamacare.

CALLER: Right.

RUSH: And they’re having to make cost cuts in order to actually stay open. And, unfortunately, you know, there’s a thing in Obamacare called death panels that are —

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: — gonna decide, you know, who gets what. Who gets paid for and who doesn’t.

CALLER: Right.

RUSH: Is Arkansas a red state or a blue state, do you know?

CALLER: It’s a Republican state.

RUSH: Well, you got even more trouble. That’s just the way they look at it. I hate hearing this. This is the greatest health care system in the world. There’s no excuse. Mary, there’s no excuse for this. The greatest health care system in the world and it’s being dismantled under the guise of a bunch of other things, to make it cheaper, make it available to everybody, make it affordable. Oh, this kind of stuff depresses me.
