Business Leaders Tell Lawmakers Not to Forget About Immigration
RUSH: I've got stories: "Companies Lay Off Thousands, Then Demand Immigration Reform for New Labor." You listen to this. "On Tuesday, the chief human resources officers of more than 100 large corporations sent a letter to House Speaker John Boehner and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi urging quick passage of," amnesty, "comprehensive immigration reform bill. The officials represent companies" such as GE, Walt Disney, Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, McDonald's, Wendy's, Coca-Cola, you name it.
"All want to see increases in immigration levels for low-skill as well as high-skill workers, in addition to a path to citizenship for the millions of immigrants currently in the US illegally." These companies are laying off people as we speak because of Obamacare. They want a new pool of low-skill, low-wage people from which to hire -- and this is what is partly responsible for the Republican position on this. That's outrageous. They're laying off people, and now demanding amnesty in letters to Boehner and Pelosi!
Look, you figure it out. They're laying off thousands, and then they want amnesty for illegals so they can replace the people that they're laying off. Those replacements aren't gonna get nor would they qualify for Obamacare for a long, long time -- at least now under the law. That's what this is about.
Drive-Bys Excited by Birth of First Named Hurricane, Saddened It's Nowhere Near America
RUSH: I had a media montage that I didn't have a chance to get to it today, but the Drive-Bys are overjoyed by the birth of the first named hurricane. They're just so excited! Here it is September and they finally get a hurricane. Except it's way out there in the Cape Verde Islands, and the closest it's gonna get to us is Rwanda. They're beside themselves. They've got a hurricane, but it isn't gonna destroy anything.
So they're so sad, and happy.
