Dingy Harry Jumps in DC Mayor's Chili

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Yesterday I told you that the mayor of Washington, DC, went up to Harry Reid and gave him grief in front of live microphones over the shutdown and how it was impacting Washington.  Harry Reid was embarrassed and got in the guy's chili.  He said (paraphrased), "You shut up! I'm out here trying to blame the Republicans.  You don't come up to me in public. You don't blame me. You're gonna screw it up.  Shut up, Mayor!"

Here's how that actually sounded.  It was in Washington, and it was Mayor Vincent Gray from the District of Columbia talking to Dingy Harry.  Now, this goes by fast.  It's only four seconds.  So listen fast.

GRAY:  We're simply trying to be able to spend our own money, sir.

REID:  I'm on your side.  Don't screw it up.

RUSH:  "I'm on your side.  Don't screw it up."  Harry Reid.  Could you hear Harry Reid say that?  Play it again.  Here's Harry Reid.  It's really hard to hear, for me anyway.  Four seconds, the mayor is saying, "Look, we just want to spend our own money, sir! You're cutting us off! We want to spend our own money. With the shutdown you're hurting us," and Reid says, "I'm on your side. Don't screw it up," in other words, "Shut up for now."

GRAY:  We're simply trying to be able to spend our own money, sir.

REID:  I'm on your side.  Don't screw it up.

"I'm on your side.  Don't screw it up."

Anyway, that guy may get the Joe the Plumber treatment before it's all said and done.
