RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, I, El Rushbo, have an announcement to make. I alluded to this a couple of weeks ago. “The Children’s & Teen Choice Book Awards is the only national book awards program where the winning titles are selected by children and teens. Last year, over 1,000,000 votes were cast by young readers! … Launched in 2008 by the Children’s Book Council and Every Child A Reader, The Children’s & Teen Choice Book Awards program was created to provide young readers with an opportunity to voice their opinions about the books being written for them…

“From Tuesday, March 25 to Monday, May 12, 2014, kids & teens will be able to vote at CCBookAwards.com…” We will link to that. We’re not gonna do it today. We’ll put this link at RushLimbaugh.com tomorrow (Tuesday) when voting begins. Every Child a Reader is a literacy organization dedicated to instilling a lifelong love of reading in children,” and Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims has been nominated. I’m one of the five finalists for Author of the Year.

The readers, the kids, vote. It’s totally democratic. The nominations are determined by sales, not by choice or any other kind of bias. It’s strictly by sales, and Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims — one of the top-selling children’s books of all of last year — is nominated. We’re very proud. We’re very honored here. Obviously, it’s irritated some on the left who are trying to get us “denominated.” That’s how intolerant they are.

In fact, it was funny, the Huffing and Puffington Post — in doing a story on this, how outraged they were — had a headline: “Do You Believe We Live in a World Where Rush Limbaugh is Nominated for a Children’s Book Award?” They’re just beside themselves. But it is a distinct high honor, and all of us here are very proud, and I wanted to mention this to you.

We will link to the website where readers can vote beginning tomorrow (Tuesday). It’s called the Children’s Choice Book Awards, and I can understand the left being ticked off about it. It’s the last thing in the world they thought would ever happen, and they’re trying to exert pressure on this group to get me removed — ah, the typical things that people on the left do.
