RUSH: Hey, folks, this is great. This happened this morning on television, on the ABC network. It used to be Live with Regis and Kathie Lee. They left. It’s now live with Kelly and Michael, i.e., Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan. But Ripa wasn’t there today. I guess she’s on vacation. So they had Kate Upton, well-known swimsuit model and other kind of model, and guest hosting for Ripa. So it was live with Kate and Michael today.

Shortly after the program began, ABC, which syndicates the show, broke away from Kate Upton and Michael Strahan to do a report, a breaking news emergency report on Obama and Iraq, and apparently the viewing audience went nuts, blew their gaskets, started melting the phone lines at ABC, sending in tweets and e-mails and texts demanding to get Obama off the screen and put Kate Upton back on.

They didn’t care about the news. They didn’t care about whatever was going on in Iraq. They didn’t care about what Obama was doing. All they wanted was their soap opera type program back on the air. They couldn’t care less. I mean, revenge of the nerds, to heck with that; it’s the rise of the low-information population.
