RUSH: "Al Gore Sues Al Jazeera for Withholding Money From Sale of Current TV -- Attorney David Boies also blasts Al Jazeera for making sure the complaint has been filed under seal. Current TV cofounder Al Gore [and] Joel Hyatt have launched a lawsuit claiming that Al Jazeera is withholding money from its $500 million purchase of the cable news network." Cable news network? Do you know what that network was?
Home videos! It was people sending in their home videos as proof that the icebergs were melting or what have you. It was nonsensical. "The complaint was filed under seal in the Delaware Court of Chancery. Former US vice president Al Gore is being represented by David Boies, the attorney who memorably represented him in the 2000 battle over a Florida election recount.
"'Al Jazeera America wants to give itself a discount on the purchase price that was agreed to nearly two years ago,' says Boies in a statement. 'We are asking the Court to order Al Jazeera America to stop wrongfully withholding the escrow funds that belong to Current's former shareholders,'" and Algore. (chuckles) What do you bet after they bought it they found out they paid way too much and said, "It just isn't worth it!"
RUSH: "Immigrant Children Are Going to Be Classified as Homeless to Avoid School Enrollment Documentation Requirements -- In response to an inquiry about unaccompanied minors from one of its school divisions, Virginia's Department of Education issued a memo this month reminding its 132 divisions about their obligation to educate all children. ...
"More than 2,850 unaccompanied illegal immigrant minors have been placed with sponsors in Virginia. According to the memo, under federal and Virginia law, the state expects that many of the unaccompanied minors who enroll in public school will be considered 'homeless,'" not illegal immigrants. Do you know why?
Well, when they're "homeless," they qualify for all sorts of additional -- I mean, dozens of additional -- welfare benefits, just to name one thing. They also are exempted from all kinds of residential reporting. How in the world can you have a residence if you're homeless? If you are homeless, you come from nowhere. You can't be an illegal immigrant if you don't have a home.
The only way you can be an illegal immigrant is if you had a home and you fled that home, got on top of a freight train, traveled 45 days through Mexico, and landed in Arizona or Texas. Then you would have a home. But if you are qualified as homeless, you're not an illegal immigrant. You get many more welfare benefits and you are not even called an illegal immigrant. You are just, sadly, homeless -- and a remnant of the Bush administration, as an added bonus.
The article says they could even qualify for benefits under the McKinney-Vento Act, but in fact the only way they can get this waiver is under the McKinney-Vento Act. So they will, by law, be eligible for all the benefits under the McKinney-Vento Act, and only if they are characterized, qualified, classified as homeless. The McKinney Act includes 15 programs providing a spectrum of services to homeless people, and in fact the McKinney-Vento Act ensures homeless children transportation to and from school free of charge. Did you know that?
Oh, yes. The illegal alien children who are being repopulated all over the country, being qualified now as homeless and they qualify for welfare benefits. One of them is free transportation to and from school. This allows the children of the school of origin to accept these students without any hassle or problem whatsoever.
It's amazing how things are working out. And isn't it amazing how somebody, with just the stroke of a pen, can change the classification from illegal immigrant to homeless? This is being done in order to bypass the usual required documents for attending public schools. What's being bypassed? Immunization records, proof of residence. The article says they could even qualify them for benefits. We talked about the McKinney-Vento Act.
So everything is just working out just so well. They show up and they immediately go from a processing center to a family home in Virginia or New York or wherever, and then they are qualified, classified as homeless, free transportation to and from schools. Does your kid get that? And numerous welfare benefits. And an added bonus, the percentage of people in the country who are considered to be illegal immigrants living in the shadows doesn't budge, 'cause they're not illegal immigrants anymore.
RUSH: If you live in Hollywood, if you live in California this story might tend to aggravate you. If you used to live in California and if you left California, say you're a small business owner or for any reason just left because it's become too expensive to live there: "A California bill to expand the state’s tax credits for film and television production was given a dollar amount Thursday: $400 million a year.
"That preliminary number, subject to amendment by the legislature of Gov. Jerry Brown (D), is four times what that state has handed out since 2009, and was announced by the Senate Appropriations Committee in a unanimous vote. If passed, would be the second-highest in the country, behind only New York, which offers $420 million a year," in tax benefits.
Now, what's been happening, Hollywood movie and TV executives have been threatening to leave, in terms of production. They're gonna leave the executive offices there, but they've been threatening to move production to a whole bunch of different places where it's cheaper -- Canada, especially Canada, a number of other states, which are competing with California. Everybody wants movie and film production, everybody. And TV. And they're prepared to give 'em tax breaks, tax incentives, all kinds of things. California is doing the same thing to keep them.
Now, if you're in the tire business, if you happen to be in the real estate business, if you're in the restaurant business in California, if you're in any other business, how would you feel that these people in Hollywood, in television and movies, are getting a massive tax break, exemption, to stay and do business there and you don't? I just wonder if there is that reaction or if people have gotten the point they just don't care, expect it to happen, and it is what it is.
RUSH: There has been a new study, ladies and gentlemen. They have found in this study a link between vitamin D and dementia. "An international team, led by Dr David Llewellyn at the University of Exeter Medical School, found that study participants who were severely Vitamin D deficient were more than twice as likely to develop dementia and Alzheimer's disease. The team studied elderly Americans who took part in the Cardiovascular Health Study. They discovered that adults in the study who were moderately deficient in vitamin D had a 53% increased risk of developing dementia of any kind, and the risk increased to 125% in those who were severely deficient."
Do you know what the primary source of vitamin D is? The sun. The increase in dementia and Alzheimer's may be due to all of the news the past generation, "Stay out of the sun. Don't go into the sun. If you go in the sun, you're gonna get skin cancer. You're gonna get melanoma. You're gonna get cancer of whatever. Make sure you use 1,000-block sunscreen. Make sure you don't go to the beach. If you go in the sun, make sure your clothed head to toe. Whatever you do, do not expose yourself to the sun. The sun is the deadliest thing you will find outside other than an angry polar bear." And people believed it because it was in the media.
They saw it on television. I play golf with people who slather so much damn sunscreen on they look like the Invisible Man wrapped in white bandages.
RUSH: I'll tell you what, the ICE people are not gonna be comfortable with this. Homeland security is back, folks. Do you remember shortly after the Regime took office, Homeland Security, I think it was Janet Napolitano, issued a warning that the real terror threat came internally from right-wing groups. Remember that? And there was an outrage in the reaction, and the Regime said that they're gonna dial that back and take those warnings out. There were official warnings that went out to local law enforcement. Keep a sharp eye out for Tea Party groups. Keep a sharp eye out for any right-wing group because they are domestic terrorists. There was an outrage and it got supposedly shoved back aside and was not operative.
"A leaked document from the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis," is now not warning, they are "predicting increased 'anti-government violence over the next year.' The document says the inspiration for violence is Cliven Bundy’s Bunkerville standoff with the Bureau of Land Management from earlier in the year."
Clive Bundy? (laughing) Are you kidding me? Cliven, for those of you in Rio Linda. The Cliven Bundy Bunkerville standoff apparently still has people seething. And the Department of Homeland Security's office of Intelligence and Analysis is predicting increased anti-government violence over the next year. Would we call what happened in Ferguson anti-government violence or not? (interruption). We wouldn't? But we don't, right? What do you call that? (interruption) That's right. Civil disobedience. Civil unrest, looting. But it's not anti-government violence, right?
So anti-government violence can only be action that's taken by right wingers and kooks, which are the same thing. Right wingers and kooks are the same thing. (interruption) Well, the left wing, exactly. Unabomber. Left-wing kooks, they're all over the place. Chuck Manson and the boys. Left-wing kooks are everywhere. But they're not considered anti-government.
Eco-terrorists like Bill Ayers, blew up the Pentagon, but they do not call him anti-government. They call him what? (interruption) Yeah, a left-wing radical. They don't even call him a terrorist. He's just a left-wing radical. Students for a Democratic Society. Americans for Democratic Action. (Interruption) Are you kidding me? A bunch of right-wing kooks still kicked off about Cliven Bundy? It's an actual paper. It is an actual report.
