This week Daniel Yergin, Vice Chairman of the global information company IHS, wrote a Wall Street Journal op-ed about “the global shakeout” from the dramatic drop in oil prices in the last few weeks. OPEC recently met to decide how to handle the plummeting prices. Significantly, they decided not to cut production, which is their historic ploy to force a price increase.

RUSH: Right on schedule, the Drive-By Media has decided it's time to hit Charles Barkley. And, right on schedule, Charles Barkley has decided he's not gonna take it. Charles Barkley has doubled down on his original comments, demonstrating once again how it is done.

RUSH: We have NFL play-by-play men, Greg Gumbel, color commentators all saying they can't believe more teams didn't do what the Rams did on Sunday.  They can't believe more teams didn't come out and imitate the "hands up, don't shoot" maneuver that I guess they believe the Gentle Giant did.

RUSH: Did the Republicans just win an election?  It's getting harder and harder to tell. As you observe things happening in Washington, it's harder and harder to tell who won that election. Republicans are acting like losers... This whole notion of a government shutdown is language that is being used once again to negatively impact the Republican Party and its fortunes.

RUSH: The election results are clear.  The voters don't want any more of what Obama is promising, implementing or offering.  They don't want any more of it. The election was the only way people in this country have of saying "stop."  Well, the people they elected to stop it, at least in the case of amnesty, don't want to stop it.  But they can't come out and say that.  

RUSH: You knew exactly what was in this bill; you wrote it, Senator Harkin!  

RUSH: Our author that called, he did not mention his books.  He was very, I thought, restrained and respectful in not seeking to use... (interruption)  Well, let me tell you who he is.  He's Matt Manochio.  This is the guy Matt from Netcong, New Jersey.
