RUSH: President Obama thought he would relate to the troops. This is yesterday afternoon Burlington County, New Jersey, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. Obama speaking to the troops and their families trying to relate to them, trying to show them he appreciates what they do, understands what they do, very much supports what they do. Here’s the first sound bite.

OBAMA: You never stop serving. You never stop giving. You guys are like Santa in fatigues. Although I’ll bet one of those C-130s is a little more efficient than Santa’s sleigh. I figured I’d get something out — out of our guys on that.

RUSH: You talk about a joke that fell flat. Did you hear that? President Barack Hussein O equating the uniformed United States military with Santa Claus. “You never stop serving. You never stop giving. You guys are like Santa in fatigues. I’ll bet one of those C-130s is a little more efficient than Santa’s sleigh.” They didn’t laugh. It’s not because they’re opposed to Santa Claus. Not at all. But they don’t do what Santa Claus does. They don’t have a bunch of little elves running around making things at the North Pole. Here’s the next Obama sound bite proving he learned nothing from Iraq.

OBAMA: After more than a decade of war, our nation is marking an important milestone.

RUSH: What’s that?

OBAMA: This month in just two weeks the transition that we’re making in Afghanistan will be complete.

RUSH: What’s that?

OBAMA: Afghans will take full responsibility for their security. This month, after more than 13 years, our combat mission in Afghanistan will be over.

RUSH: Did we win? Does anybody know? Snerdley, did we win in Afghanistan? Does anybody know? (interruption) Well, I know he didn’t say. I don’t think he learned the lesson of Iraq. We’re pulling out of there. We haven’t won, but we’re getting out of there. And this is so that he can, ladies and gentlemen, so that he can make the military more lean so that he can gut the mill. He doesn’t need it anymore. We’re getting out of Afghanistan. But we didn’t win. It’s not finished. I don’t even know what Obama’s objective there was. I don’t know that there was ever gonna be a way of proclaiming victory.
