RUSH: Now, there’s more outrageous, just embarrassing stuff out there. I can’t really believe it. I feel like I’m still watching the Saturday Night Live 40th anniversary show with this next one. Have you heard about Marie Harf at the State Department and what she said? She was on MSNBC last night, and we have a ban on all audio from MSNBC. She was on with Chris Matthews. Even Matthews… He was doing everything he could to agree with her and support her, but even he thought he was listening to a lunatic.
Marie Harf said, “We cannot win the War on Terror, nor can we win the war on ISIS by killing them. We need to find them jobs. We need to get to the root cause of terrorism, and that is poverty and lack of opportunity in the terrorist community.” Now, this is exactly what I mean when I talk about young skulls full of mush being corrupted at the academe, at university, at colleges, institutions of higher learning.
This woman is an absolute throwback to 1960s, feel-good liberalism that is senseless. It’s chickified, it denies reality, and this is the number two spokeswoman at the State Department. Her boss is not very much more cogent. That would be the infamous Jen Psaki. Marie Harf, a spokeswoman for the US State Department, said, “Americans cannot win against the Islamic State by killing them, and what we ought to instead focus on addressing what she claimed was the root problem — their poor economy — and help them get jobs.”
Marie, you can’t even do that in this country. We have 92.5 million Americans not even working in this country, and you are clueless about how to change that. Now all of a sudden we’re in a war, and we’re not gonna win this by killing? Do you know what the purpose of armies is? It’s to kill people and break things. Wars are not won with doctors and nurses and clean water and good vibes and jobs and all of this typical, nonsensical, worthless, touchy-feely, gooey, syrupy, sticky liberalism.
It’s getting dangerous out there. She said, “We’re killing a lot of ’em, and we’re gonna keep killing more of them, and so are the Egyptians, and so are the Jordanians. They’re in this fight with us. We can’t win this war by killing them. We cannot kill our way out of this war. We need — in the medium to longer term — to go after the root causes that lead people to join these groups.”
This embodies everything that this Regime refuses to acknowledge that these people are militant Islamists. And, by the way, I have a theory about why that is. I think it all can be traced back to everybody on the left, and everybody in the media, who did nothing but lie and spread lies about how Bush had lied us into war. They succeeded in delegitimizing the Iraq war by spreading that lie that Bush lied to get us into it.
I’m gonna break here but I’m gonna expand on this, because I think that’s what we’re doing.

RUSH: RUSH: Anyway, Brian in St. Augustine, Florida. How are you, sir?
CALLER: I’m doing great, Rush. How are you?
RUSH: Fine. Thank you very much.
CALLER: I’m calling because you mentioned the meeting about why the jihadists hate us, and having the meeting assumes that there’s some logic behind it at all. But it’s just like the reason why the left hates the right: There is no logic. It’s just because we exist, we aren’t them, so naturally we hate you.
RUSH: That’s true, but remember who we’re talking about here. We’re talking about the left asking the question, and the left thinks that everybody should love them. They love themselves, and they think they can make everybody love them. They think with doctors, nurses, clean water, and good speeches, that they can turn the most vicious hatemonger into somebody that loves them. And that’s what the seminar is about.
“What can we do to show these ISIS people that we are good people and they have no reason to fear us?” You’ve nailed it. Because there’s no logic to this hatred. It’s pure ideology. They hate us because we are not the proper religion. The left hates us because we’re not them. They can’t tell you specifically why they hate us. They have to make it up. “Racist, sexist, bigot, homophobe.” But here you have the Regime and its seminar specialists, and they’re a bunch of leftists.
They think everybody loves them, or that they can make everybody love them — with doctors, nurses, clean water speeches, words, you name it — and that’s the purpose of the seminar. Remember, the left always thinks — despite a worldwide, despite a from-the-beginning-of-time failure of socialism and communism — that the current generation of leftists can finally make it all work.
It’s the triumph of emotion over common sense that’s epitomized in the Obama campaign as, “We are ones we’ve been waiting for! Yeah, the Soviets, they got close, but they just ran out of money and they had to deal with Reagan. And the Chinese communists? They’re getting closer. And Castro? Best health care system in the world!” They think that despite socialism having never worked, communism having never worked.
It’s never brought about the utopia that they claim to believe in. It’s never brought about the human perfection they claim to believe in. Yet they believe every generation of leftists is the generation to make it happen. There is no rationality to any of this. So their seminar tomorrow is really: How can they take steps to let ISIS what good people they really are and why there’s no reason for ISIS to hate them? Part and parcel of that? “That’s why we’re not calling you terrorists!
“That’s why we’re not calling you ISIS. We’re not provoking you, and we’re not insulting you. ” This is how they think. “If we just show you that we respect you, you’ll respect us and you’ll stop killing us.” That’s what they believe. That’s how you get a Marie Harf. That’s how you end up with her. This woman, at best, ought to be working in a soup kitchen. Instead she’s the number two spokeswoman at the State Department, and she’s out there saying that to solve this problem we need to get them jobs.
What the hell is that!
I just can’t believe we got here.
