RUSH: The police officer in Philadelphia survived despite being filled with a full clip. We have a couple sound bites. Here we go from Philadelphia, the mayor Jim Kenney. By the way, this guy, mayor of Philadelphia, he’s so far left he’s off the horizon, sanctuary city, I mean, this guy’s full-fledged wacko leftist. But he held a press conference today to discuss the shooting of officer Jesse Hartnett by the suspect, Edward Archer, who confessed, saying he did it in the name of Islam. Here’s a portion of the commissioner, Richard Ross, and his remarks.

ROSS: The suspect in question is a 30-year-old male from Yeadon. He has a Philadelphia address as well, I believe. He has confessed to committing this cowardly act in the name of Islam. According to him he believes that the police defend laws that are contrary to the teachings of the Koran.

RUSH: Yay, nothing to sweat here, folks, just a one-off. Nothing to see here. He’s just following Sharia. I mean, you have here a cop defending laws contrary to the teaching of the Holy Koran, which means Sharia. Blatantly up front, open and honest about it. Here’s what the mayor, Jim Kenney, said.

KENNEY: In no way, shape, or form does anyone in this room believe that Islam or the teaching of Islam has anything to do with what you’ve seen on that screen. That is abhorrent, it’s terrible, and it does not represent the religion in any way, shape, or form or any of its teachings.

RUSH: No.

KENNEY: This is a criminal with a stolen gun —

RUSH: Right.

KENNEY: — who tried to kill one of our officers. It has nothing to do with being a Muslim or following the Islamic faith.

RUSH: So here you have the police commissioner quoting a suspect admitting why he did it, and the Looney Tune mayor comes in, nah, the suspect’s an idiot, doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Doesn’t represent Islam in any way? Is this guy Islamic? The mayor Islamic? Then how would he know? “It doesn’t represent the religion in any way, shape or form or any of its teachings.” It most certainly does. It most certainly does. This guy’s classic, this mayor. He’s a liberal, but he can’t even tell you why. Get into an issue discussion with the guy and you’d have him stymied. It’s just the thing to do, it’s just the thing to be, it’s just the things to believe. Why? It’s above my pay grade. Criminal, stolen gun, tried to kill one of our officers, nothing to do with being a Muslim or following the Islamic faith. So the guy lied in his confession? Why? I tell you, folks, it’s tough, it’s tough when we elect idiots like this and they end up in positions of authority.

RUSH: Andrew in Minneapolis. Welcome, sir. Great to have you here.

CALLER: Hey, Rush, mega dittos to you. So I heard about the shooting today, and there was an officer that was shot in the name of Islam by a criminal. And that criminal got that gun, it was a stolen gun from 2013 from a police station.

RUSH: Yeah.

CALLER: And so it’s a police issued gun and I just thought, you know, how many laws can you put in to try to not put guns into the hands of bad guys and assume that bad guys aren’t gonna steal things, even from the police.

RUSH: Yeah. Yeah, it’s an excellent point. But did you hear that the mayor is saying that the confession from the shooter is wrong?

CALLER: Yeah. They’ve got — yeah. I don’t think it’s true. I mean, they’ve got selective hearing with this stuff, I think.

RUSH: Oh, it’s more than that. It’s more than selective. Here you have the shooter saying that he did it in the name of ISIS and Islam because the cops are enforcing laws that are in conflict with Islam, Sharia, the holy Koran, and the mayor said (imitating mayor), “I don’t want anybody thinking that’s true. No way. There’s nothing in Islam that would warrant this. It’s a peaceful religion,” whatever it was he said, openly denying the perp and his confession.

But, yeah, I mean, it’s another illustration, this gun was stolen from the police somehow. I don’t care what gun controls you do, whatever Second Amendment you do, you’re never gonna get guns out of the hands of law enforcement. So, yeah, another good example.

CALLER: Hi. This Muslim terrorist who shot the cop that you and the caller were just talking about, he said it’s because the cops defend a system that’s against Islam. That’s exactly what the communists teach. In fact, Lenin himself wrote that in capitalist countries cops and military are the force that keep capitalism in power and defend it, therefore we have to destroy it. It’s not a coincidence that you see a lot of these radical Muslims sounding like and acting like communists, because they’ve had a connection for several decades. I have publications from the Soviet Union where they talk about training Muslim leaders, and some of the things the Muslim leaders trained by the Soviets, some of the things they say is socialism came from the Koran, and Muslims have to support the Soviet Union because God willed the founding of the Soviet Union.

And if a fatwa is issued against opponents of the Soviet Union, and you get killed, it’s not a sin because you’re opposing the Soviet Union, which God willed. It’s not a coincidence when you see Soviet weapons in the hand of radical terrorist Muslims. It’s not a coincidence when you see the radical Muslim states armed by the Soviets attacking Israel. This has been going on — I have stuff from the year 1785, Catherine II of Russia used Islam to get the neighboring Muslims, neighboring to Russia, to wage war against Russia’s enemies —

RUSH: Let me interrupt you, just a quick question ’cause I’m sure there are people in the audience wondering how does this jibe with the Soviet Union invading Afghanistan, an Islamic country?

CALLER: Because there was a group of people in Afghanistan that didn’t want the socialist dictator that the Soviets basically installed, so they started opposing and fighting against the communist Afghan leader, and then that leader called in Soviet troops, and they said it’s because it’s enforcing the treaty that was signed between the Soviets and Afghanistan.

RUSH: Well, you know, it’s interesting that you talk about the ties between militant Islam and communism. There are also tremendous ties between militant Islam and Nazism. And the commonality there is anti-Semitism.

CALLER: Right, well in Christian Marxist unity that’s liberation theology, where they teach basically that Jesus was a Marxist. Like in Latin America, there’s a lot of communism controlling a lot of the churches. The same way that communism penetrated the Christian religion they penetrated Islam, ’cause it used to be Arab terrorism and Mid-East terrorism. It only became Islamic terrorism when the religion itself was penetrated. If you could teach people they’re not dying for Marx, they’re dying for Allah, you have a more dangerous militant force whose not only not afraid to die, they want to die. It’s a terrible, terrible enemy. And this is why Putin’s assassins murdered Litvinenko, the FSB Russian intelligence agent in London several years ago.

RUSH: Polonium-210.

CALLER: Yeah, because he exposed the fact that the number one Al-Qaeda leader now, Ayman al-Zawahiri, was trained in Russian camps. And he had to be killed. Now there’s another FSB defector saying that ISIS is working with Russian intelligence. And this is big news all over Eastern Europe, but for some reason this side of the world never gets the type of information or they get it later than other parts of the world. I have Soviet publications, Rush, I wish there was a way I could send them to you, you’d be surprised the stuff they say.

RUSH: Oh no, I’d — well, maybe some of them. But these alliances that you’re talking about, our heads collectively in this country are really in the sand. Regardless what you might believe about alliances between the Soviet Union and militant Islam, the fact of the matter is the forces of evil are on the march all over the world and we have a segment of our population that’s still obsessed with Kim Kardashian’s derriere, and her kids and so forth. We really do have an insular aspect to much of our culture and society here that is not healthy.
