RUSH:  Here’s Troy in Enid, Oklahoma.  It’s great to have you with us on the EIB Network.  Hi.

CALLER:  Oh, my gosh, Maha Rushie, what an honor.  Look, Trump being elected, now getting through to you after 27 years of listening, to quote Matthews, has a thrill running up my leg, quite literally.

RUSH:  Oh, you’re happy about it.  Okay, cool.  I’m sorry, I’m having trouble understanding you, so I was waiting for you to be transcribed.  That’s the delay.

CALLER:  Well, look, I tell you, I’m just gonna get right to the point here.  Trump supporters need to remember why they voted for Trump in the first place.  They need to have a heart and just be patient.  Because, for me, it was the fact that Trump’s a businessman.

RUSH:  Wait a minute.  Wait a minute.  Are you getting worried?  Are you thinking Trump supporters are on the verge of abandoning him?

CALLER:  Yeah, I do. I do, because my wife, my mother-in-law, and a lot of the guys that I work with are questioning some of the things they’re doing.  They’re worried about cabinet picks, some of the things he’s doing, the Boeing thing. You know, they just need to remember that he’s a businessman, and to me the country is a business and should be run like one which is why I supported Herman Cain when he ran. You know, and I think it’s especially true for those questioning his cabinet picks, like you said.  I trust that he’s choosing these people on merit and for no other reason.  I don’t know, Rush.  I don’t think the loyalty through the process — you know, through the whole primary season — was a deciding factor for him, or even appeasing the establishment, as far as that goes.  And I’m tired of these reporters and commentators trying to lump Trump supporters together.

RUSH:  Okay, now, wait a minute.  I’m looking for something here that I had prepared for just this, and I can’t find it.  You’re telling me that you have friends of yours who supported Trump who are beginning to doubt him now because they’re believing what they’re hearing in the media about his cabinet picks being no good or because the Air Force One deal?

CALLER:  Yes.  That’s correct.

RUSH:  You know, this is —

CALLER:  I don’t know if this… It’s not that they’re questioning the support for him, but they’re questioning his picks. They don’t want… They’re wondering why he’s calling Romney in for all these interviews.

RUSH:  Oh, okay. Okay, that’s it. That’s it.  I was… That’s why I was being patient here, folks.  There had to be some explanation for this — and Romney, I’m sure, is it.  But, you know what?  I also don’t doubt… This is why I said earlier that I think it’s brilliant that Trump continues on these thank-you tours, because when he’s out there he continues to hammer his agenda, and he advocates for his cabinet picks, he explains to people who they are.

He thanks the people for voting for him, and he continues to articulate his agenda.  And it’s the best… He’s got the entire media apparatus arrayed against him.  There’s fake news daily about Trump, lying about him, lying about his cabinet picks, and I think he’s got to keep doing this.  You like his cabinet picks because they are business successes.  Obviously. You said that’s why you supported Herman Cain.

CALLER:  No, that’s not necessarily true.  I mean, that may be… To me, it’s funny. You listen even guys like Krauthammer and others speculate just they even have a clue.  You know, Trump is a businessman. He got where he is but he’s a businessman.  That’s why I voted for him, that’s why you supported him, that’s why I tried to get all the people I know to support him, and he’s doing exactly what I thought he would do throughout the election process, which is he’s vetting these people. He’s taking his time.  And I don’t give a rip why he chooses the people that he chooses because I don’t even pretend to know why he does.

RUSH:  Wait a minute.  You’re telling me friends…? You just said Krauthammer.  Now you’re confusing me.  Who is it that’s ripping on Trump that you don’t like?

CALLER:  In the media?

RUSH:  Okay.

CALLER:  The left wing media —

RUSH:  It isn’t gonna change.  It’s not —

CALLER:  No.

RUSH:  — gonna change, Troy.  You’ve got to ignore this.

CALLER:  I do.

RUSH:  No, you’re not.  You’re not.  You’re calling here, your worried about it for some reason.

CALLER:  No, I’m not worried about it.  I’m trying to get the people that are listening to your program, the people that I work with, because I tell them every day, I said, “Don’t worry about this.  The reason he got to where he is right now is because of his success and that’s why we voted for him in the first place.”

RUSH:  Right.  Okay.

CALLER:  And the reason he’s picking these people is because he’s running the country the way — or he’s planning on can go the country and the reason he’s picking these people or vetting them the way he is, he’s doing it exactly like he did when he was —

RUSH:  Okay.  Look, folks, I’m gonna explain — I’ve gotta take a break here — I’m gonna explain.  I know exactly what you’re talking about.  I know what your fears are.  I know what you’re worried about and I’m gonna address ’em. I gotta go here quickly, but before I do, as you know, Troy, every caller is offered a free brand-new iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus.  Would you like one of the two?

CALLER:  I absolutely would, sir.

RUSH:  Which one?

CALLER:  Well, it’d be for my wife and like the previous caller I’d like the Plus in the rose gold.

RUSH:  And what’s your carrier?

CALLER:  AT&T.

RUSH:  You got it, rose gold, AT&T iPhone 7 Plus.  Hang on so Mr. Snerdley can get your FedEx address.  It’s 256 gigabytes.  When we give things away here, it’s top of the line, and none of this three weeks of shipping.  You’ll have it tomorrow.  Don’t hang up.  Yes, they may be doing their Christmas shopping, but not everybody’s gonna get through here, so why do you want to cast a pall on it?

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: I don’t think I can squeeze it all in with the precision that I want within the remaining time and I want to get a call or two in here.  But I understand what people’s fears are.  Trump’s, in many people’s eyes, a once-in-their-lifetime opportunity, and you already feel he’s being undermined, and you’re worried that the undermining efforts are gonna work.  I understand it’s a constant fear that conservatives and Republicans have learned to have, experience guided by intelligence.  But Trump’s a different animal.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: You know, we got Kevin.  We lost him. Kevin, I’ve only got 35 seconds here, and it’s not enough time to get into what you wanted to talk about.  He’s worried about Trump critics saying we’re gonna start a trade war, but your theory is we’re already in one that we’re trying to stop, correct?

CALLER: Correct. Yeah. They’re saying he’s gonna start a trade war and I’m saying we’ve already been in one. We just haven’t been fighting back, and his whole issue on trade is the whole reason I started supporting him in the first place.

RUSH:  Right.

CALLER:  Back in the primaries.

RUSH:  I’ll tell you, it’s just like everything else: The Trump critics are legion, and they want him to fail, and my best advice is to just not listen to any of that and wait for Trump to be inaugurated and wait for this stuff to take off.  He’s gonna need you to continue to support him, folks. That’s why he’s doing these tours. He’s gonna need you to continue to do what you did that got him elected, and he’s asking for this as he goes out on these tours.  Kevin, I’ve gotta hang up, but I’m gonna turn you over to Mr. Snerdley. Tell him what kind of iPhone 7 or 7 Plus that you want and your carrier and color and all that.
