Allen Brothers Labor Day Sausage
Folks, when it comes to Labor Day, not only have our good friends at Allen Brothers done a ton of work for you, they’ve worked overtime, too!

That’s our esteemed opinion regarding our favorite national award-winning fine meat purveyor’s selection of sausages, bratwurst, and steakhouse steak dogs. If you give a quick phone call or click of your computer mouse well ahead of the holiday, you will have a virtual smorgasbord --- from casual treats to gourmet delights --- of the world’s best sausages flash frozen at the utmost peak of freshness.

Allen Brother’s has a strong work ethic, friends. They could have stopped after they created their Great Steakhouse Steak Dogs that we know, and you have shown in vast numbers, you absolutely love. And that’s just your good taste kicking in, because it’s not just us who agree on that vital point: The Chicago Tribune named the dogs the best in weiner-lovin’ Chicago and Forbes magazine the top in the whole wonderful nation.

But Allen Brothers and their hard work didn’t stop there, no way, folks. They don’t just rest on their laurels. Instead, examine this tender and juicy lineup. First, we’ll fill you in on what Allen Brothers worked hard creating for you and then give you some great Labor Day (or anytime!) grilling and cooking tips:

GREAT STEAKHOUSE STEAK DOGS: You have already voted with your orders and elected these award-winning beauties as one of your favorites. What better time to stock-up than in advance of Labor Day weekend? Order early and your “Labor-Free” days begin! With a firm, juicy bite, bold flavor, and lightly smoked aroma, each perfectly seasoned 6-inch Chicago-style wiener (both jumbo and regular) is precooked, “heat and serve,” and available with or without a natural casing.
BRATWURST: For a hearty meal in minutes, you will love Allen Brothers’ precooked, “heat and serve” Wisconsin brats in natural pork casings. Made with the finest pork, beef, and spice, these are mildly seasoned, absolutely delicious sausages.
GOURMET SAUSAGES: While you relax and enjoy Labor Day, it will be easy to remember just how much Allen Brothers’ loves their work when you sample their gourmet sausage “heat and serve” package. It includes three exclusive Allen Brothers’ family favorites: 20 pork Italian sausages; 25 turkey bratwurst; and 25 hot beef polish sausages. Yes, El Rushbo is, in fact, a 2007 Nobel Peace Prize nominee and, like you, one of the most intellectual of all in this fine nation, but when it comes to this superb package, the correct response is simply: “YUM, YUM, YUMMY!”
INTERNATIONAL SAUSAGE SAMPLER: And, folks, the yum-fest continues! Try Allen Brothers’ unsurpassed gourmet favorites from around the globe, made to their (and ours!) exacting standards.
Merguez (six 2-ounce sausages) is a slightly spicy North African recipe featuring the finest lamb and beef in a lamb casing.
Chipolata (six 2-ounce sausages) is traditional, well-loved pork with herbes de Provence in a lamb casing.
Wild boar (four 4-ounce sausages) is blended with apples, red wine, garlic, onion, and pepper in a pork casing.
SAUSAGE SAMPLER: Nothing less than “wow!” describes this exceptional variety of favorites. We know you love those Great Steakhouse Steak Dogs, well, get four jumbo all-beef franks here, as well as some additional outstanding choices: 4 bratwurst; 5 hot beef polish sausages; 4 pork Italian sausages; and 5 gourmet turkey bratwurst.

*******COOKING TIPS*******

Folks, the wonderful thing to remember about the exquisite franks and sausages above is that they are so much beyond bun-worthy! Whether they are heat and serve items, or cook-‘em-up-yourself treats, these are entrees waiting to happen. Their distinctive flavors pair well with grilled vegetables, roasted potatoes and peppers --- you name it!

And, of course, ordering these finely flash-frozen delights well ahead and grilling for Labor Day is a complete no-brainer. Allen Brothers’ state-of-the-art flash-freezing is with the highest caliber equipment, which means it then lasts better and longer in your own refrigerator and freezer. Just imagine the aroma emanating from your grill (equally good, too, on your stovetop or in a pan in your oven, due to their convenient versatility).

Here’s our secret for grilling success: Simmer first ahead and then grill just before serving (and, of course, cook fully for those sausages that are not precooked). This saves time and effort, since you can even simmer the day before and keep in the refrigerator, and lets you join the party! It also is a trick to ensure the most moist franks and sausages. When simmering, water is OK, but we definitely recommend taking it up a notch and simmering in water including a can of beer, chicken or beef broth, or water filled with chopped onions --- anything to add some customized flavor!
