Story #1: UN Climate Panel Caught in New Round of Errors
RUSH: New errors in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report, the IPCC. This is from the UK Telegraph. You will not read about any of this in the United States media. "The United Nations panel on climate change is facing fresh criticism today as The Sunday Telegraph reveals new factual errors and poor sources of evidence in its influential report to government leaders. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) report is supposed to be the world’s most authoritative scientific account of the scale of global warming. But this paper has discovered a series of new flaws in it including: The publication of inaccurate data on the potential of wave power to produce electricity around the world, which was wrongly attributed to the website of a commercial wave-energy company."
Wave power. Have you even heard of it? Well, I have because I study this. "Inaccurate data on the potential of wave power to produce --" that's when you go outside your house and wave "-- to produce electricity around the world which was wrongly attributed to the website of a commercial wave-energy company. "Claims based on information in press releases and newsletters. New examples of statements based on student dissertations, two of which were unpublished." In other words, the IPCC put in their report to governmental leaders around the world climate change assertions, statements based on papers that students wrote, two of them which were unpublished. These were not even doctoral candidate students. These were not doctoral thesis. These were just your run-of-the-mill average long-haired maggot-infested dope smoking student, and "more claims which were based on reports produced by environmental pressure groups." In other words, activist groups. "They are the latest in a series of damaging revelations about the IPCC’s most recent report, published in 2007," which it won for their work a Nobel Peace Prize.
"On Friday, it emerged that the IPCC’s panel had wrongly reported that more than half of the Netherlands was below sea level because it had failed to check information supplied by a Dutch government agency." And then of course the nation of India has pulled out of this because what was reported about the Himalayan glaciers was all wrong and they're going to appoint their own glaciologist study team and to hell with the United Nations. It just gets worse and worse and worse. Why has it taken three years, folks, for all of these errors to be noticed? Three years. This is 2007 when this bogus thing came out. And once again, honestly friends, we can't help but ask why is it that we have to turn to the British press to get these kinds of stories? Are there no investigative journalists left in this country? Meanwhile, we will once again note that British newspapers are not going out of business like so many are here in the United States. I wonder if there's any correlation.
Story #2: BBC: 10% Rise in UK Climate Change Skeptics
RUSH: From the BBC, there has been an increase in the number of British people who are skeptical about climate change, according to a BBC News poll. Twenty-five percent of those questioned did not think global warming was happening. That's an increase of 10%, since a similar poll was conducted in November. "The percentage of respondents who said climate change was a reality had fallen from 83% in November to 75% this month." Still way too high, but it's coming down. This is what happens when your press reports the truth.
Story #3: Hoaxers Double Down: Arctic Degrading Faster
RUSH: From CBS News: "Arctic Degrading Faster than First Thought -- New Climate Change Study Finds Rapid Sea Ice Melt Affecting Everything from Polar Bears to Microorganisms." Arctic degrading faster than first thought? They have to make this happen faster since the e-mails came out, see, they're doubling down on the accelerator.
"A massive international study --" who would that be, the UN? "-- has found global warming is degrading the Arctic more than previously thought." Just like the Himalayan glaciers, the same studies, the same techniques used here? "The U.S.-based Pew Environmental Group said it has quantified for the first time the economic costs of the Arctic's warming and it adds up to at least $2.4 trillion over the next 40 years. Economist Eban Goldstein of Bard College in New York says the Arctic is warming at twice the rate of the rest of the world." An economist is saying this? Just like the head of the IPCC is an economist, the Pachauri guy.
Here is the piece de resistance. Now, this one is from the UK Sunday Times: "Africagate: Top British Scientist Says UN panel is Losing Credibility." "The most important is a claim that global warming could cut rain-fed north African crop production by up to 50% by 2020, a remarkably short time for such a dramatic change. The claim has been quoted in speeches by Rajendra Pachauri, the IPCC chairman, and by Ban Ki-moon, the UN secretary-general. This weekend Professor Chris Field, the new lead author of the IPCC’s climate impacts team, told The Sunday Times that he could find nothing in the report to support the claim." By the way, this is a global warming guy. This is a global warming believer.
So what's happening? I mentioned this around the time of those e-mails -- real scientists had better join the group of people demanding these other guys be held accountable because they are perverting and destroying all the perception of every scientist out there.
Story #4: Rasmussen: 75% of Likely Voters Angry at Gov't
RUSH: Here's a new Rasmussen national survey: Seventy-five percent of likely voters now say they are at least somewhat angry at the government's current policies. That is up four points from late November, up nine points since September. The overall figure of 75% includes 45% who are very angry with current government policies. They are madder than ever at the current policies of the federal government. So Obama wants to have a six-hour meeting on the one-year anniversary of his failure, and 75% of the people, likely voters, don't like government policy. Just 19% now say that they're not very or not at all angry at the government's policies, down eight points.
This will not stop the Democrats. They will still try by hook or by crook to ram through what it is they want, governing against the will of the American people. I guess the thing to say here, folks, is that really isn't new. They always have to do this. Ever since I've been old enough to study and learn from this stuff, that's always what they've done, is govern against the will of the people, and back before they had to deal an alternative media when they had only the Drive-Bys, they could decide what was news and what wasn't news, and they could do polls and say most of Americans agreed with Democrats, when they didn't. Liberalism in the United States of America has never been a majority-held point of view. Liberals Democrats, especially the modern incarnation of Democrats, has to always govern against the will of the people. And when it gets down to make or break time, then they'll put the mask on, the facade, "We need to move to the center," make it look like they're moving to the center in order to compromise.
Story #5: Gallup: Dems Turn More Negative Toward Congress
RUSH: It's not just Rasmussen, it's Gallup. Eighty percent of Americans disapprove of liberal Democrat Congress. Eighty percent of Americans disapprove of liberal Democrat Congress. Could be another reason Obama wants to meet with Republicans. But while this is good news, it still frustrates me. Well, it frustrates me because these guys are no different than they've been the last 30 years. Liberals are liberals. They're socialists, Marxists, statists. I guess the difference is they have unchecked supermajority power now. And I guess the difference is that they are open, wide open, about who they really are as they implement what they want and as they speak what they really believe. Now, I hope people don't forget it this time. They will? You think people will forget this? Well, the Republicans better not let 'em forget it.
You know, I don't like talking about myself and I don't pat myself on the back very much, folks, you know I don't have to. This is why I think all of these campaigns ought to be ideological, conservative versus liberal, not Republican versus Democrat, not moderates versus everybody else. Liberalism, when people see it without any confusion, they reject 80%. In Gallup, 80% disapprove of the liberal Democrats in Congress. They better not forget this. I mean the liberal message has been exposed. It's a myth. It's a lie. And here's that New York Times piece that I just referenced, Jeff Zeleny: "Mr. Obama challenged Republicans to attend the meeting with their plans for lowering the cost of health insurance and expanding coverage to more than 30 million uninsured Americans. Republican leaders said they welcomed the opportunity and called on Democrats to start the debate from scratch, which the president said he would not do."
So he's not going to come up there and say I was wrong, overreached, terrible, I'm very unhappy. No. Not gonna start over. You gotta remember, folks, if you disapprove of the liberal Democrat Congress, you've got to disapprove of the president. He is them. He is one of them. And I guarantee you, the liberal Democrats in Congress are going to trust Gallup, and when they see this, they're going to understand exactly why it's them. It's because he doesn't have a plan, he doesn't put a plan out there and he doesn't go to page 4,454 to tell you how 30 million uninsured people are going to become insured. He doesn't have any of that, that's why even Democrats are now complaining he doesn't give any guidance. He wants to be far, far away when these polls come out. Eighty percent disapprove of liberal Democrat Congress. Somebody needs to get the message out beyond this show. The Republicans on TV to the American people: "Hey, we know you like President Obama, some of you do, but if you disapprove of the policies of the liberal Congress, I mean here's their architect, here's their leader, Barack Obama." It's time.
In these Gallup numbers by -- it's even worse, 90%-of-independents disapprove along with 90% of Republicans disapprove of the liberal Democrat Congress, 90% of -- of independents. This caller was -- with a brilliant idea to the Republicans because Obama has said his focus laser-like this year is jobs, right? Republican -- Mr. President, if you want to talk about jobs we'll be glad to talk to you about restarting the economy which you obviously don't know how to do. We'll talk about health care after we get people back to work. This guy was a brilliant -- just remind everybody, Obama said jobs are his focus now.
Story #6: Marist: Obama Hits New Low, Approval at 44%
RUSH: Even more polling data that's bad for The One, the Marist poll is now reporting Obama under 50%, joining Rasmussen and Gallup, and soon it's going to be everywhere, CBS, ABC, NBC, New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal. Let's see, 47% disapprove of Obama's job performance. Forty-four percent approve. So 47% disapprove, 44% approve. That is the Marist poll.
Story #7: Toyota Plans to Recall 300,000 Prius Hybrids
RUSH: "Toyota plans to recall about 300,000 Prius hybrids worldwide over a brake problem and will notify the U.S. and Japanese governments tomorrow. A top executive will testify before US lawmakers over recall woes that tarnished its reputation for quality and safety." So 300,000 Priuses are going to be recalled.

Story #8: Obama to Put Plugs Biden on Court, Make Hillary VP?
RUSH: Have you heard this story? It's been going around. I've seen this now three times in the last four days that Obama wants to dump Biden and that the next Supreme Court vacancy he's going to nominate Biden for it so he can get Hillary on the ticket to run as his VP to try to put things back together in 2012. It's all over the place out there. Here it is in USNews.com: "Democrat strategists say that if Obama's reelection prospects look shaky, he could dump [Plugs] Biden from the 2012 national ticket and choose Hillary Clinton as his running mate." Well, well, well. Interesting. We'll keep a sharp eye on that.
Story #9: Washington Post: Where Did Hopes for Obama Go?
RUSH: By the way, there's a long story. I'm going to have to save the details for tomorrow, but it's really shocking, too, that it shows up in the Washington Post -- and it's by a chick. It's by Ann Gerhart. "A Year Later, Where Did the Hopes for Obama Go?" It's a very long piece. It's about how a few people have lost the magic of Obama on their lives especially on college campi, and the reality of that is that kids now have very little hope of finding jobs. That's seeping into their reality. You really don't need to read the story, folks. I'm just giving you the impetus. The bloom is off the rose. There is no hope. There is no hope! Ha!
Story #10: Super Bowl Gets Highest Rating for TV Show -- Ever
RUSH: Well, Nielsen says that the Super Bowl is the most watched television show, ever. Not just the most watched Super Bowl, ever. The most watched television show ever! I guess that includes the funeral of Princess Diana. Well, now, wait a minute. That was worldwide. This is just domestic United States. It was the largest audience for a television show, ever. That really has to disappoint MSNBC.
Story #11: Obama Economy: Donations to Universities Plunge
RUSH: Headline: "Donations to universities plunge -- The sour economy has eaten into charitable contributions to colleges, universities across the Golden Triangle," this is North Carolina, "stalling construction projects at some, and cutting the amount of money available for scholarships." That's just what Obama planned. That's just what Obama planned. He wants the government to be in charge of all charities.
Story #12: Congressman Jack Murtha (D-PA) Dead at Age 77
RUSH: I just saw that. Jack Murtha has died. Democrat, Pennsylvania. He's been sick all weekend. His surgery went wrong. Complications of some kind of surgery. So Jack Martha Murtha, dead, Democrat from Pennsylvania.
Story #13: Comforting: Iranians Promise to Deliver Punch on 2/11
RUSH: Well, this is a comforting thing here, folks. "Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Monday that Iran is set to deliver a 'punch' that will stun world powers during this week's 31st anniversary of the Islamic revolution. 'The Iranian nation, with its unity and God's grace, will punch the arrogance (Western powers) on the 22nd of Bahman (February 11) in a way that will leave them stunned,' Khamenei, who is also Iran's commander-in-chief, told a gathering of air force personnel. The country's top cleric was marking the occasion when Iran's air force gave its support to revolutionary leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini." So a big punch coming February 11th, big punch. Stun us.
Story #14: Details Coming Tomorrow: Gay, Mentally-Challenged, Biracial Male Cheerleader Claims Discrimination
RUSH: Get this headline from SeattleWeekly.com: "Gay, Mentally Challenged, Biracial, Male Cheerleader Claims Discrimination." It would be hard to not discriminate something like this: gay, mentally challenged, biracial, male cheerleader. One, two, three, four different things there. Gay, mentally challenged, biracial, male cheerleader. Do you want the details? I'll give them tomorrow if you do.
