Story #1: CBS Pulls Letterman's Greatest Hour From YouTube

RUSH: Well, isn't this interesting.  CBS has pulled from YouTube the video of David Letterman's mea culpa admitting having sex with his female staffers.  Now, I thought that it was some of the greatest television ever! The AP and other news critics said, "Oh, that was the best TV! What a brilliant way that Letterman did all this. Why, that's the best hour TV we've seen since Hugh Grant admitted buying a prostitute in the back alley of LA on The Tonight Show."  So if it's the greatest hour of television, why did CBS pull the video off of YouTube where nobody can see the great hour of TV that it was?  (Gasp!)  I know. How we supposed to grow? How are we supposed to all be able to emulate Letterman and do it the right way if we don't have the guidance from Letterman on YouTube to follow?

Story #2: Andrea Peyser: Dump Depraved Dave Now

RUSH: This Letterman story, there's something to think about here. Andrea Peyser of the New York Post: get rid of the guy CBS, you're going to lose all credibility here. How can you keep this man on the air after the Sarah Palin incident, now all these women that he's bedded down, he's got a secret bedroom up above the Ed Sullivan Theater where all this stuff happened?

Story #3: AP: Will Women Viewers Turn From Letterman?

RUSH: Here's the AP with an amazing story by David Bauder: "His back to back scandals this year -- a crude joke about Sarah Palin’s daughter and revelations through an alleged blackmail attempt by a CBS producer that Letterman had sexual relationships with Late Show staff members -- are likely to hit his reputation hardest with women.

"There are still many unknowns following Letterman’s startling admission last week: How many women were involved? Did the relationships end well? Did women feel pressured by the boss’ advances, or were they happily consensual? Did any other staffers feel the way to get ahead was through Letterman’s bed? Are women who did not have intimate relations with Letterman upset that those who did may have gotten special treatment or career advances? Is anyone talking to lawyers? All could determine whether Letterman is significantly damaged or if it’s just a footnote to his career. … Many women who work in television, and probably most other industries, can recall feeling pressured to do something with a man she works for, said Curry’s colleague, Kathie Lee Gifford.  'I’m not saying David did that, but the details are yet to be discovered,' she said. 'They might have been very willing partners who initiated it. We don’t know, but the minute we hear stories like that we go, "Uh-huh."'"

So Bauder's worrying about Letterman's female audience.  I have a bigger question.  How many of you people work at a company, large or small, who make you go through sensitivity training all the time.  You can't bring in a Playboy magazine and lay it around, might upset women, you can't do this, it might upset women, you can't do that, it might upset this minority, all this sensitivity training.  These networks, I happen to know, put people through the ringer on this, and I wonder how can CBS look at this -- they've pulled the video from YouTube of the greatest hour of Letterman on television ever.  That might be for legal reasons or it might be because they finally figured out, "Hey, this does not look good for us."  But you let somebody that's not prominent on camera get involved in this sort of stuff and I mean there are recriminations that start immediately.

It is something to consider.  They have whole departments, these networks have whole departments that train people how not to behave this way. What? I know it's for the little people, Snerdley.  I know it's for the little people, but they gotta maintain credibility with the little people if the little people are going to follow the regulations.  If the little people end up getting canned for this sort of thing, and the big guys not only get away with it but are applauded, they've got a problem.  You don't know where the professional women's groups on this are going to come down at the end of the day.  Right now I know everybody's going, "Oh, what a great hour of television, oh, these women love Letterman," that's the PR that's out there now except for this story from David Bauder at the AP which could just be a CYA story, too, you never know.  Nevertheless, fascinating.

Story #4: President Obama Secretly Pushing the Public Option

RUSH: This is from the Chicago Tribune Headline: "Health Care Reform: Privately, Barack Obama Strongly Backs a Public Option" -- publicly he says there won't be one -- "White House discreetly labors to weave coalition on health care." Interesting.

Story #5: Rasmussen Poll: People Don't Want Obamacare

RUSH: Rasmussen poll: "'Fear of Losing Private Health Insurance Trumps "Public Option."' -- Sixty-three percent (63%) of voters nationwide say guaranteeing that no one is forced to change their health insurance coverage is a higher priority than giving consumers the choice of a 'public option' health insurance company." No matter how you slice it -- 63% now -- people don't want any part this.  Zip, zero, nada. It doesn't matter, if they have to get the public option by stealth, they'll do it (as we all know), and that's what's happening.

Story #6: UK Paper on Democrat Judge Busted for Sex Abuse

RUSH: Now, this is really interesting. Very interesting.  This is from the UK Daily Mail and it's about a judge in Alabama. "Ex-Judge Accused of Spanking U.S. Male Inmates in his Office and Awarding Them reduced Jail Time in Return for Sex -- A former judge is facing life in prison after being charged with sexually abusing male inmates in exchange for leniency. Respected circuit judge Herman Thomas," who probably never misses a Letterman episode, "who was once the Democratic Party's choice to be the first black federal judge in south Alabama, is accused of bringing inmates to his office and spanking them with a paddle. His trial for charges of sodomy, kidnapping, sex abuse, extortion, assault and ethics violations is set to begin today." Maybe he's going to be a czar with Obama after they pardon him!

"The 48-year-old insists he is innocent and claims he was trying to mentor the inmates. ... The National Association for the Advancement of [Liberal] Colored People ... has defended Thomas and claims race is behind his prosecution." He is an African-American. What, Snerdley? Well, he could get into filmmaking or get a czarship with Obama.  He could be legal czar. I mean, we have a "safe school" czar who's a pervert from way back.  Why not get another pervert as a legal czar?  Now, all of these details: "Local Democrats and lawyers recruited Thomas, and they got a Republican governor to appoint him to a vacancy in 1990. Thomas later won election to a full term. ... In 1997, Alabama's presidential advisory committee recommended President Bill Clinton appoint Thomas as the first black federal judge in the southern district of Alabama. The nomination was never acted on after Thomas failed to get the American Bar Association's top rating and amid some squabbling within the party."

Again, this is in the UK Daily Mail.  You will not find this in the state-controlled US media.  I wonder if this guy's getting his advice from either Bill Clinton or the Reverend Jackson, or maybe both?  The NAALCP is defending him and claims race is behind the prosecution. Leniency for spankings! Ha!  Pretty soon we're going to get a AP media critic writing on why this is one of the best things a judge has ever done to help reduce crime in America, just like it was the greatest hour of television that Letterman ever did, admitting all the trysts with the female staffers.

Story #7:
Greg Lewis: Did We Elect a Beta Male as President?

RUSH:  Now, as to who is Barack Obama, the mystery deepens. The questions continue to be asked.  Greg Lewis at the American Thinker has a pretty hard-hitting piece here.  And the headline is this:  "Did We Elect a Beta Male As President?‎

"We're all somewhat familiar with the body language dogs display when they greet each other. The dominant alpha male approaches directly, asserting his authority, while the beta male genuflects, crouches, tucks his tail, and may even end up on his back, exposing his neck in acquiescence, making sure the alpha male knows he has no intention of challenging him. With his 'we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist' opening to the world's dictators, the President is exhibiting classic beta male behavior, in essence rolling over on his back and exposing his throat to them to make sure they know he has no intention of challenging their authority.

"Of course, the problem is that he's not simply exposing his throat, he's exposing America's collective throat, sending the message that he's a typical beta male intent on submitting to all the alpha male leaders around the world, and damn the consequences. His response to the discovery of Iran's newest, and heretofore 'secret,' nuclear facility was, as Daniel Henninger (Wall Street Journal, October 1, 2009) points out, to have our State Department offer to start a direct dialogue with the tyrannical Burmese regime." Burma!

"The Obama administration has also offered conciliatory gestures to the genocidal Sudanese leader Omar Hassan al-Bashir, and it has dispatched none other than John Kerry to meet with Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad. This, of course, is not to mention his somewhat more visible overtures to the world's alpha male thugs: Obama has consorted jovially with Hugo Chavez and his counterpart Daniel Ortega, he's bowed down to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, he's agreed to halt plans to install a missile defense system in eastern Europe to placate Vladimir Putin, and he's offered the aforementioned hand to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, despite the latter's expressed unwillingness to even agree to acknowledge the truly important issue of Iran's nuclear weapons in our talks, all quintessential beta male behaviors.

"While we've all been seeking a political rationale for the president's actions, his behavior goes beyond the political to something deeper and more personal: like all beta males, Barack Obama simply does not have the temperament to confront tyrannical alpha males around the globe. In this light, even his inability to work with American allies Gordon Brown and Nikolas Sarkozy is a function of his being incapable of facing down the world's tyrants: to cooperate with our allies would require Obama to display alpha male behaviors, including demonstrating courage, something he's simply not capable of doing." This gets harder hitting as I go on as you can hear.  "The president's beta male..." Do you know this is a great way to describe the entire DC press corps?  Beta male?  Alan Alda types. Chickified by the feminazis.  "The president's beta-male proclivities are arguably putting the safety of his constituents, the citizens of our country, in serious jeopardy.

"Another cue to this unfortunate character trait of the president's can be found in the lack of assertiveness of his oratorical style. While many people insist that Barack Obama is a wonderful speaker, in fact, he exhibits less emotional range when he addresses a crowd than his predecessor, George W. Bush, did. He may have better speechwriters than W, but his delivery is monotonic and his cadences clipped, both signs of a beta male, unsure of himself, putting his words out there more for the purpose of seeking approval than of providing leadership." Amen to that, bro! "To return to the canine metaphor: It's the height of folly to think that other nations won't be doing everything they can to make President Obama their bitch." That got Wendy's attention, in there reading People magazine, and that line got her attention.  "Greg Lewis is the co-author of End Your Addiction Now, recently released by Square One Books. His next book is The Politics of Anger: How Barack Obama and Marxism's Heirs Are Redefining Liberalism in America Today." Obama as the beta male.  I find that fascinating.  It explains quite a bit.

Story #8: Study: Recession Hurting College Grads the Most

RUSH: This is from Milwaukee, right out of the media template handbook: "Amid worse-than-expected job losses and an unemployment rate that hit 9.8 percent last month, new Labor Department data Friday showed the 21-month recession is taking a greater toll on college graduates than high school dropouts. You're still far less likely to be unemployed with a bachelor's degree than if you're a high school dropout. But in a telling sign of the breadth of the recession, the latest data also indicate that the numbers of unemployed jobseekers are growing fastest among Americans with higher education." College graduates hit hard during recession.  A greater toll on college graduates than high school dropouts.

The way you have to look at it... See, the Milwaukee... Who wrote this? Joel Dresang.  Joel, let me help out here, and any of the rest of you who happen to be listening from the Drive-By Media: This is the plan!  Don't you understand?  This is called "returning the nation's wealth to its" quote, unquote, "rightful owners."  The achievers in society are to be punished.  The achievers in society are the ones who are under assault because it's unfair, don't you know, that the achievers achieve.  It's unfair that college graduates do so much better than people who barely get out of high school.  This is working exactly according to plan.  This guy at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel does not understand that he has written an absolutely glorious piece from the perspective of the Obama central planners.

"Labor Department data," Obama Labor Department data "showed the 21-month recession is taking a greater toll on college graduates than high school dropouts."  It's called fairness! And it's the plan. This is Obama's America.

Story #9: Homeland Security to Hire Up to 1,000 Obama Spies

RUSH: Now, there is good news to report out there.  CNN has it here on the job front.  "The Department of Homeland Security is going to high up to 1,000 new cybersecurity experts."  Where do you go to get a degree in that?  They're going to hire these 1,000 new cybersecurity experts over the next three years "to help protect US computer networks, according to an Obama administration czar.  'Cybersecurity is one of our most urgent priorities,' said Janet Napolitano, the Homeland Security secretary.  She unveiled the plans at an event marking the beginning of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month."  What color is that ribbon?  What color is the ribbon, and will NFL ribbons soon be wearing shoes that color?  One thousand cyber... Can I rephrase the headline?  Department of Homeland Security to hire up to 1,000 new Obama spies.

So there is job creation going on out there. Mmm-hmm? What? No, no, no.  Wait just a second Snerdley.  Just a second, Snerdley.  You didn't like the pink gloves and the pink shoes that the NFL players wore. I didn't say that.  You know, I'm not against anybody becoming more aware of various kinds of cancers.  Don't say that.  But we can't discriminate against the others. Now we've got cybersecurity. What did it say here?  I was prepared to move on before the interruption.  Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Well, there's Breast Cancer Awareness month. By the way, did you hear what that idiot Chris Berman said on ESPN yesterday?  He welcomed everybody to "Breast Awareness Month" on ESPN.  I just loved it.  He forgot "cancer." I figured he's auditioning maybe to replace Letterman if something happens over at CBS.  No, but if we're going to do Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we're going to need a color and we're going to need a ribbon for National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and we're going to have to do a little deal here with the NFL so that they can tie it in. It's only fair since we're talking about fairness.

Story #10: UAW Rallies Against Itself at UAW-Owned Chrysler

RUSH: You want to hear a funny story?  This is from the Communist Party USA's Daily Worker, People's World magazine, People's World newspaper.  This is from October 2nd:  "Hundreds Rally to Stop Chrysler Plant Closing."  In other words, the United Auto Workers is rallying against the United Auto Worker-owned Chrysler.  The UAW owns it, and UA workers are rallying and protesting against themselves.  I wondered what was going to happen here when the UAW, as owners, have to act like owners and shut down plants.  I wonder what the rank-and-file is going to do.  "'Build 'em where they sell 'em,' was the battle cry from hundreds of autoworkers and their supporters at a rally in front of Chrysler's Sterling Heights assembly plant on September 25th.  The plant is eight miles north of Detroit, scheduled to close on December 2010, but the union here is aggressively working to reverse that decision with itself."  This is hilarious.  Unions striking against itself, potentially.  Certainly protesting itself.

Story #11: Memo to Brett Favre: Throw to the Purple Jerseys

RUSH: Interesting Monday Night Football game tonight: Brett Favre, Brett Favre, Brett Favre, Brett Favre, against the Packers. See, I hope Favre remembers to throw to the guys in purple tonight and not the guys wearing white.
