RUSH: Well, Barack Obama has gone from the "Magic Negro" now to the "house negro," according to Ayman al-Zawahiri. The Al-Qaeda number two puts out this tape and refers to Obama as a "house negro." Now, where did he get this? Let's go back, isn't it amazing what these Al-Qaeda guys know about our culture. October 7th, 2002, on a radio station in San Diego, the host was interviewing Harry Belafonte.
BELAFONTE: There's an old saying in the days of slavery, there were those slaves who lived on the plantation, and there were those slaves who lived in the house. You got the privilege of living in the house if you served the master. The Colin Powells are permitted to come into the house of the master.
RUSH: Now, this can't be allowed to stand, ladies and gentlemen. It's amazing. There were a lot of things that Zawahiri said in this tape. He said the election of Obama proves that you've lost in Iraq. He really ripped the United States all to shreds, and
AP didn't care about that. What they cared about was Obama, the president-elect, was referred to as a "house negro" by Ayman al-Zawahiri. Now, look, folks, Al-Qaeda, I mean these people, they cut people's heads off, they have murdered and mutilated the bodies of our troops, they killed 3,000 innocent Americans, but now, now they have crossed the line, now finally we might have our own Drive-By Media upset at Al-Qaeda because of this insult to bury Obama, our president-elect. It's bad enough that they were mounting up casualties for Americans, slicing their heads off and doing all kinds of horrible terrorist things, IEDs and so forth. We had to understand their rage back then. We had to understand why they were mad. We had to convene seminars at the State Department to understand what it was we were doing that made them behave the way they are. But now, now, my friends, they have crossed the line. This cannot stand.
All of a sudden, as far as the Drive-Bys are concerned, Al-Qaeda has become human debris. They have crossed the line. Sticks and stones can break bones, but words matter. Politically incorrect words matter. Insulting Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice, that was okay. I mean, they're Republicans, they were picked by Bush. But you start using hate-crime words with a liberal Democrat, i.e. the Messiah... I'll tell you what, my Club Gitmo merchandise, our thriving merchandise line might have just gotten a reprieve. It could well be now that Obama, "Oh, yeah, you're going to call me a 'house negro'? Okay, fine, I was going to do you guys a favor and close down Gitmo," but maybe now he'll see fit to keep it open. The headline: "Al-Qaeda Number Two Insults Obama in New Audio Message." He said a lot of things about America in his audio message. (laughing) From the "Magic Negro" to the "house negro."
Now, the question about this that we all have, ladies and gentlemen, is what will Obama's reaction be? I don't know that he can turn his back on al-Zawahiri any more than he can turn his back on his own preacher, but don't jump to any conclusions. We don't know what he's going to do here. No one has any idea what he's going to do about Al-Qaeda or terrorism or taxes or the economy or anything. We have wild guesses, but we don't really know. The election, of course, was not about specifics. It was about hope and it was about change.
