 I finally found something worth paying attention to among the hate and anger and lies in the Iowa Caucuses. Yes, our old pal Ted "the Swimmer" Kennedy showed up in Waterloo, Iowa yesterday to scream his support for fellow Massachusetts senator John F-ing Kerry to crowds of Iowans.
This audio must be heard to be believed. The only sort of positive thing that can be said about the slurred endorsement is it's better than his infamous 1994 speech for Clinton. (Video) I had to roll this audio twice - once raw and a second time so I could provide translation. Kerry, who is mortgaging his art collection to raise money for his campaign, continued his hatefest with a potshot at Senate colleague and fellow presidential candidate John "the Breck Girl" Edwards.
Kerry quipped that when he returned from Vietnam, "I don't even know if John Edwards was out of diapers." Edwards accepted a forced apology and continued his rise in the polls. That kind of restraint is credited with spurring the Edwards campaign after months of being an asterisk with great hair. |
