RUSH: It's unbelievable. Howell Raines, the former editor of the New York Times, has ripped me off. Howell Raines has a column in The Guardian, the UK newspaper The Guardian, and this article is all about helping John Kerry. I find it interesting that both Howell Raines, the former editor of the New York Times, who resigned in disgrace over the Jayson Blair fiasco and Don Hewitt of CBS 60 Minutes -- which is now the Democrat Party Book of the Month Club, which is what that show has become -- both of these guys claim that they're not biased. They're not really politically oriented, but they're both doing -- Hewitt advises Bill Clinton during the '92 interview in the Super Bowl during the campaign when the lights almost fell on Hillary, and Howell Raines has this piece advising Kerry what to do. But beyond that, do you know what Howell Raines does in this piece?

He calls John Kerry Lurch of the Addams Family. He rips me off. He doesn't give me any credit for it, but everybody knows that that nickname and that character was first signed to John Kerry by me on this program. We can prove it, ladies and gentlemen, because one of the premiums that we're offering for people who sign up to Rush 24/7 right now, because it's a subscriber side of the website, one of the things that we are offering includes a John Kerry as Lurch computer wallpaper. We've had this in the production line for a long time. We even sometimes play that Addams Family theme to describe John Kerry as Lurch. So there you have it, once again show prep for the rest of the media. I had to mention this, folks, because I'm being either being ripped off, misquoted, taken out of context, or stolen from all over the partisan mainstream media.

COMMERCIAL BREAK
RUSH: I really can't believe that, Howell Raines just ripped me off. Just ripped me off. I guess it is. I mean, even when you leave the New York Times you commit plagiarism. You know, it's just amazing. I know what they're going to say, "Well, I don't listen to Limbaugh. I mean, I never heard him say that." Well, of course. If that's the case, if that's what Howell Raines will say, if he will deny his plagiarism of ripping off my nickname for John Kerry, Lurch from the Addams Family -- he even talks about, what is it, "Lurch had gone to Choate, got an Addams Family face," is what he says. The only thing he doesn't say that I said is that this guy gets out of a coffin every morning to go to work. And for all I know, that is in the piece.

I haven't read the whole piece. But if they're going to deny -- I know they'll deny it. Of course he'll not even be confronted with it. The press will not go, "You understand that you stole that from Rush Limbaugh?" No, no, that will never happen. But if it were to happen, he'd say, "I never listen to Limbaugh" So the obvious conclusion to that is then I'm not the only one that thinks this guy looks like Lurch and all that that stands for and represents, not even the Democrats think this guy looks like somebody that's actually alive and breathing.
