| Kerry Is So Very (Colorless) |

Senator John F. Kerry, the richest man in the Senate who consistently opposes the American people keeping more of what they earn, said in last night's debate, "When I arrived in the United States Senate the highest marginal tax rate was 72%. We took it down to 28% under Ronald Reagan." Who's "we," senator? Does this not tell you everything you need to know about this guy? Imagine if Kerry runs in 2024 and, God willing, the Middle East joins modern times.
Then Kerry can say, "When I was in the Senate, we took down Iraq under George Bush." Kerry mentioned Vietnam a lot in last night's debate, turning a question about his anti-war demonstrations - including the day he tossed away Vietnam War medals in protest - into an attack on Bush. He said we "should only go to war because we have to, and if you live by that guidance you'll never have veterans throwing away their medals or standing up in protest."
Did I miss something? Did any soldiers in Iraq throw their medals or anyone else's medals over any wall in this war? Kerry didn't throw HIS medals over the wall, anyway. He was forced to admit they were someone else's medals. I have the real story on this and it's out there if you want to find it, but I'm not going to bother to remind you of it now. Kerry might not even be the nominee. If he is, you can bet the truth will come out. It's Kerry who can't stop talking about Vietnam, after all - proving these people are focused on the past, not the future. |

At last night's debate, where all the candidates looked about 70, Kerry basked in the endorsement of Sen. Ernest "Fritz" Hollings (D-SC). Hollings raised the Confederate Flag over the statehouse when he was governor. He has also used the racial slurs "wetbacks" for Hispanics, and called Africans "darkies" and "cannibals." So all you Confederate flag-waving Dean hecklers should crash a Kerry rally next. That would add some much needed excitement, rather than Kerry droning on about Richard Nixon trying to kick soldiers camping on the Mall in Washington out.
Kerry claimed he was there with his fellow troops when he was really living comfortably in a Georgetown townhouse. Note that Kerry doesn't mention that he went to Vietnam under LBJ, and that President Kennedy began our real combat involvement there. Brit Hume asked Lurch, "Governor Dean has said of you, and I also believe Senator Edwards, that you cast votes that you knew were wrong on the war for political reasons. How do you answer that charge?" Kerry gave his non-answer that he voted for the "right way to hold Saddam Hussein accountable."
What? Kerry only voted for that resolution because he thought he'd never get the Democrat nomination without it. He knew the American people supported - and still support - "finishing the job" as Democrats spent 12 years complaining Bush 41 didn't do. Next, Kerry imagined that President Bush "promised" to beg the UN for permission, build an international coalition (which he did), continue with inspections indefinitely and "only go to war as a last resort." If Kerry had read SJ 45, which he claimed he did not when this issue first came up, he'd have seen that the resolution clearly stated this was the last resort. The only one who answered this question straight on was Joe Lieberman. He deserves huge credit, folks - huge. |
