RUSH: It is amazing. Here we had a guy who hated George W. Bush, who hated the Reagan tax cuts of 1986, this guy that flew the airplane into the IRS building, and the media is doing everything it can to connect this guy to the tea party movement! Meanwhile, a real lunatic, this professor from the University of Alabama Huntsville who killed her brother, who opened fire on six or ten other professors, they still have not attached her to any political party, other than to say she was obsessed with Obama. But they’re not blaming Obama and they’re not trying to tie this woman to some fringe of the Democrat Party. It’s another page right out of the playbook, so predictable. I said yesterday that this was going to happen, and it is happening. And we’re going to chronicle that and a lot more.

RUSH: All right, back this. I have two, smack-in-the-middle-of-TIME Magazine articles about Mr. Andrew Joseph Stack, or is it Joseph Andrew Stack? Is it Joe Stack? You know, the media always, when they throw in somebody’s middle name, it’s a key, it’s a tip-off — they’re trying to portray somebody as wacko insane, and this guy probably is, or was, but this is by Hilary Hylton, a dispatch in TIME Magazine from Austin. ‘After the fireball, Cullin said, the black-glass windows blew out the venetian blinds started flapping in the wind,’ and they go on and describe all the damage and so forth, and then there is a link right under this little paragraph in red, ‘See the making of the Tea Party movement’. Right under a description of what happened in Austin! TIME is literally linking Mr. Stack to the tea party by putting a URL link to another article about the tea party in the middle of their piece on his anti-IRS attack!
And then Jonathan Capehart yesterday — and this was three o’clock in the afternoon — 3:01, by the way, right after this program is over, Jonathan Capehart, who is an editorial page writer at the Washington Post: ‘Joseph Stack was angry at the [IRS], and he took his rage out on it by slamming his single-engine plane into the Echelon Building in Austin, Texas. We now know this thanks to the rather clear… suicide note he left behind. There’s no information yet on whether he was involved in any anti-government groups or whether he was a lone wolf. But after reading his 34-paragraph screed, I am struck by how his alienation is similar to that we’re hearing from the extreme elements of the Tea Party movement.’
Did I not tell you yesterday that people like Capehart and Hilary Hylton and the whole State-Controlled Media would be unearthing every stone they could find, every rock, trying to find out what talk shows this guy listened to — they obviously haven’t been able to find that out — so now they try to link this guy to the tea party movement. You know, Pavlov’s dog would be impressed at this. You guys are so transparent. Do you not understand why it is you’re losing sponsors, readers, circulation?

RUSH: This is July 14th. I went back and looked at The New Yorker from July 14th of 2008, in which we are treated to Obama’s response to 9/11, as published in the Hyde Park Herald, September 19th of 2001, in Chicago. ‘I must also hope that we, as a nation, draw some measure of wisdom from this tragedy. Certain immediate lessons are clear, and we must act upon those lessons decisively… We must also engage, however, in the more difficult task of understanding the sources of such madness [that would wreak havoc on 9/11]. The essence of this tragedy, it seems to me, derives from a fundamental absence of empathy on the part of the attackers… It may find expression in a particular brand of violence, it may be channeled by particular demagogues’ or whatever, but we have to study, we have to have empathy for their rage and understand why they don’t like us.
Now, why are our media masters giving so much play to the screed of Joseph Andrew Stack III? Maybe go back and look at what Obama said about 9/11 was the difference in how — nobody wants to understand this guy. Nobody wants to have any empathy with Joseph Andrew Stack III, nobody. I mean, this guy is a lunatic fringe tea party guy! He’s a right wing — even though if you look at this guy’s screed, he hated Bush, he hated Reagan, he hated the tax cuts of 1986, he hated institutions which are mostly favored by conservatives (leaving out the IRS and so forth). I mean, there’s no evidence in what this guy wrote to suggest that he’s a madcap right-winger. He’s just a lunatic. But when something like this happens, they have to try to attach this guy to conservatism, mainstream conservatism. In the meantime, of course, we still do not have any political party association with this Amy Bishop babe who started firing her gun at the University of Alabama at Huntsville, despite she was a far left political extremist who was obsessed with Obama to the point of being off-putting. But we don’t see any curiosity: Was she inspired by Obama? Was she driven crazy by fringe liberals? None of that. It’s actually hilarious.

RUSH: Now, back to this loco weed Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Intelligence Project, this is a guy who finds right-wing extremism virtually everywhere. I don’t know where this guy was when the Obama obsessed professor went on a shooting spree last week. He even admits here he doesn’t know anything about this guy but assumes he’s a right-winger anyway. Chris Matthews said, ‘You see a connection here, anti-government, anti-IRS, with what happened in Oklahoma City, Mark?’
POTOK: Let me say I — we know nothing of this man. We did not have him in our files, we found absolutely nothing in the way of real background on the movement or association with any group. But, yeah, as a general matter his ideas seem connected to at least some of the core ideas of the radical right and in 1995 not long after the Oklahoma City bombing, a man attempted to blow up what I think is the very same building in Austin, the IRS building in Austin back in ’95. In addition there were attempts to blow up IRS buildings by people on the radical right in Michigan and in Las Vegas as well, so this is kind of a traditional target of the radical right.
RUSH: He doesn’t know the guy. This is just knee-jerk page from the playbook sort of stuff for these wacko leftists. You people are so transparent and so predictable. We know what you’re going to say and do days in advance of your saying and doing it.

I’m wondering what Bill Ayers thinks of this guy that flew the airplane into the IRS building down in Austin. You think Ayers admires the guy, Obama’s buddy, Bill Ayers? I wonder what the FALN terrorists that Eric Holder and the Clintons released and gave pardons to, I wonder what they think about this effort by Stack, to fly his airplane into the IRS building. Don’t forget now, this Amy Bishop, she was an instructor at Harvard Medical School. So the question is whether Harvard is now producing mass murdering maniacs. In fact, she got her Ph.D. at Harvard. So if the media were consistent they would be investigating what the hell are they doing at Harvard? She has ties to the elitist left there. She’s an Eastern seaboard Harvard creation. Does that mean Harvard is producing mass murdering maniacs? We need an investigation!

RUSH: My guess is that Bill Ayers, who blew up the Pentagon, one of Obama’s buddies, probably doesn’t think Stack did enough. Ayers didn’t think he did enough. If blowing up the Pentagon’s not enough, certainly blowing out a first floor building in the IRS in Austin is not enough.

The thing I wanted to ask you was about this whole thing that happened in Austin yesterday when they found out this Joseph Stack, this guy’s manifesto is what they’re calling it now, at the very end of it, the two last sentences that he has are, he says, ‘The communist creed: from each according to his ability, to each according to his need, and the capitalist creed: from each according to his gullibility and to each according to his greed.’ Everywhere I see that on the Internet they seem like that’s a bad thing, but to me being a capitalist like that, I don’t see anything wrong with that. Why wouldn’t anyone want to put forth as much work as it takes to and why would you want to be only given what you need and not put forth the extra effort to get what you want and desire?
RUSH: I want those words in front of me. I’ve got them somewhere here. I had them segregated over here and I think I put that segregated stack somewhere, now I can’t find it. But read the last two things you said. I know that communist manifesto, but what did he say about the capitalist manifesto? Say that to me again.

RUSH: That doesn’t describe capitalism to me at all. Gullibility and greed? Here it is. Here it is. Here it is. I found it. Somebody, one of our FReeper friends has got a great post with this guy’s quotes, the anti-IRS screed from the Austin wacko Joseph Andrew Stack, and under a picture of Lenin is this: ‘The communist creed: from each according to his ability, to each according to his need. The capitalist creed: from each according to his gullibility, to each according to his greed.’ That just sounds like gibberish to me, the second half of that. Now, under the picture of Michael Moore: ‘The recent presidential puppet GW Bush and his cronies in their eight years certainly reinforced for all of us that this criticism rings equally true for all of the government.’
Then there’s a picture of Stalin: ‘The wonderful ‘exemptions’ that make institutions like the vulgar, corrupt Catholic Church so incredibly wealthy.’ And under a picture of Pelosi: ‘The joke we call the American medical system, including the drug and insurance companies, are murdering –‘ this guy sounds like a whacked out leftist to me. It sounds to me he likes the communist manifesto and doesn’t like capitalism. He hates Bush; he hates the insurance companies; he hates big business; he hates the pharmaceutical companies. This guy has nothing in common with one member of the tea party, not one. He doesn’t have anything in common with a right winger. What this guy is, is a bunch of screws loose, something popped in this guy way back when, he’s just one of these people that’s off kilter. But this effort to tie this guy — and the media is doing their level best on this — to tie this guy to the tea party, to some anti-government bunch. This guy likes communism, he didn’t like the IRS, but he sounds just like any liberal Democrat I hear campaigning for office. Damn banks, damn insurance companies, damn drug companies, damn Bush.
I mean this guy is almost word-for-word for Barney Frank. This guy’s almost word-for-word for Harry Reid. This guy’s almost word-for-word for Nancy Pelosi. Almost word-for-word for Rahm Emanuel and Barack Obama. This guy sounds like he’s blaming Bush and Reagan. He hated the Reagan tax cuts of 1986. So I don’t know where these people get off trying to say that this guy’s some sort of right-wing wacko anti-government guy trying to compare him to Tim McVeigh. Well, I know why they’re doing it, because they can’t debate us on the arena of ideas, they have to try to discredit conservatism by making mainstream conservatism look like it spawns these kinds of unfortunate lunatics.
