CALLER: Hello, Rush. The Democrats just can’t see your genius. We do. Don’t worry about it.
RUSH: Well, thanks very much. I count on the fact they don’t see it.
CALLER: (giggles) Yeah!
RUSH: That’s why we’re so easily able to game them.
CALLER: Exactly. I’m a volunteer caller for the Tea Party, and you are dead on: Elmer Fudd could beat this guy. I take down all of the repetitious comments that I hear, and the big one is: They fear a wolf in sheep’s clothing who is governing against the will of the people. I’ve heard it hundreds of times. I’ve heard, “BO rich: If you are BO rich you are a BO target,” and I love that one.
RUSH: Yeah.
CALLER: But you can’t be elected because they don’t trust him. They don’t trust the un-American attitude, the anti-Israel, and ignoring the people — giving our money away while he’s trying to take our money away. I mean, this is just a small amount. I have hundreds, here, and Mr. Snerdley told me to keep it short, so I will, but no. He can’t win, on anything.
RUSH: Snerdley’s always trying to shortchange people on this show.
CALLER: (giggles)
RUSH: We deal with it once you get on the air, but Obama can win. Don’t get overconfident. He can win. My point is he’s beatable. The conventional wisdom is, “Oh, my gosh! He’s not beatable. Ohhhh, don’t waste the A Team on this one, Rush. We can’t win this.” It’s BS.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Cornelia in Dallas, you’re next on Open Line Friday, great to have you here. Hello.
CALLER: Thanks, Rush. I want to take you back to the State of the Union address where the Democrats were bloody and disillusioned and their tongues were hanging out, and that speech was supposed to be a rousing call to arms, give me a Democrat Senate so I can get my program through, and what did he do?
RUSH: Which speech, now, which year?
CALLER: This year.
RUSH: This year.
CALLER: Yeah. And so he just hung ’em out to dry. He had some grand plans, it was all about Obama again. And I think the fracturing of the Democratic Party has not been discussed properly. And have you seen him out campaigning for anything but himself?
RUSH: No. No. He doesn’t care about anything but himself. I mean he’s told Blue Dog Democrats in the House essentially that. But the State of the Union, the reason I’m confused here, State of the Union is in January, February, after the elections.
CALLER: I know. That’s when they were bloodying and bowed and he shoulda been saying, “I can’t get my program through if I don’t have Democrats here.” He shoulda started then. He didn’t. Did you notice how infrequently there was clapping?
RUSH: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I did make note of that.
CALLER: Of course there were fewer claps.
RUSH: It was a dud. There’s no question, it was a dud speech.
CALLER: That’s right.
RUSH: There wasn’t much energy in there at all.
CALLER: I think the fracturing of the Democrats all the way down the line is an undiscussed thing. I don’t have any facts; I just have a feeling.
RUSH: Well, I know. Even the Shrivers are breaking up. Did you see that?
CALLER: I don’t think it relates to Obama, though.
RUSH: Well, Arnold and Maria are breaking up. She moved out a long time ago. Yeah, it’s just an illustration of how deep the fracture is.
CALLER: Well, you know, the Gores broke up.
RUSH: But they’re never gonna report that. You know that. They’re never gonna report the fracturing. Look, this defeat in the House is major. I can’t even now tell you how profound a victory for the Republicans, or defeat for Obama and the Democrats that was, and it extends way down to the states. It’s huge. But of course they’re not gonna talk about it. The conventional wisdom is the people have changed their minds since then, and Obama’s now unbeatable. It’s all BS.
