RUSH: Let’s go to the audio sound bites. Savannah Guthrie, an NBC infobabe on Scarborough’s show this morning. He asked her, ‘So how does the president go to New Orleans to talk about Katrina and instead of going over to Mississippi gets on a plane and flies to a Democrat fundraiser in San Francisco?’

GUTHRIE: I think that it just kind of was an exclamation point for those who felt that this was an insult, that he didn’t spend a lot of time there. He visited a charter school, talked to some kids and had this town hall and he was out of there. In terms of just communications strategy, he really opened himself up to it with such a short visit and then jetting off to San Francisco to this $3 million DNC fundraiser, it was $34,000 a couple for the dinner.

SCARBOROUGH: How much per couple?

GUTHRIE: For the couples at the dinner, $34,000 per couple.

RUSH: $34,000 per couple, San Francisco. I think it was at the St. Francis hotel, Union Square. And what happened, a tea party broke out, a tea party! At Gateway Pundit there are pictures of literally hundreds of protesters across the street from the hotel where Obama went in San Francisco. Now, they were leftist protesters, they were rightist protesters, but there weren’t any riots among the protesters. They were all focusing their anger at Obama. He’s inside and a $34,000-a-couple fundraiser for the Democrat National Committee after four hours in New Orleans, and it was basically a flyover. Remember, folks, I told you yesterday what that trip to New Orleans was about. You know, Obama said, oh, if I could write you a check I would. You can! You have written $1.4 trillion worth of checks for money that you don’t have. What do you mean if you could write a check you would? What’s going on in New Orleans, what’s going on in Michigan and Detroit, that’s where we’re all headed if this guy succeeds, this is where we are headed.

He goes into New Orleans and looks at this and says, ooh, okay, I see what my agenda is going to bring to the rest of the country. You think he cares? Remember in San Francisco at a fundraiser where he talked about you, the bitter clingers. In times like this you seek solace in your religion — ooh, pew — and your guns — ooh, yuk. He’s an arrogant elitist but hell, there’s a piece in Harpers, I mean they’re way over there on the left along with everybody else in the media, Harpers has got a big, long column: Is this guy really that smart or is he just plain stupid? The libs are attacking this guy from all over the place. You don’t hear about it in too many places but I got evidence of it here in the stack. Let’s step back for a moment, shall we, and examine situations where Obama has found success, and in each of these instances, Obama’s success begins and ends with corrupting the voting process, and not just the November elections.

I’ll mention me first. The process where bids are taken for NFL owners to vote on new owners, the vote process has been totally corrupted. Votes for the Nobel Peace Prize; packing boards of directors; General Motors and Chrysler; legislation in Congress; card check; the Democrat caucus votes during primaries and the November elections, any time a vote is involved, Barack Obama or his proxies will stop at nothing to delegitimize the voting process and that’s primarily what ACORN is all about. Corruption in the voting process is the one constant to Obama’s success. He either clears the field of opposition or, if the opposition doesn’t go away then they corrupt the voting process. Organizing the corrupt votes of all kinds and then embracing democracy, honest and informed elections will produce a negative result for Obama so his focus is fixated on corrupting and disrupting elections.

Look, folks, more and more pollsters are pointing out — George Will is the latest one, he’s a columnist — but more and more pollsters are pointing out the big problems the Democrats have in the 2010 elections. The Senate and the House both, and George Will points out this is why they’re running like bats out of hell to get all this done before Obama loses his majorities and particularly his 60 votes in the Senate. That’s why they are in a race to get all of this corrupt legislation signed into law, this liberty-busting, freedom-busting and economy-busting legislation passed into law. They’re going to have much more trouble getting it done if they don’t have those 60 votes in the Senate and in some of these things they don’t have the 60 votes now. So there’s a pattern. If there is a vote involved Obama and his associates will find a way to infect the process, from the NFL all the way down to the November elections. The State-Controlled Media will propagandize information related to the vote and then look the other way when laws have been broken and the process has been compromised. And after the fraud and corruption have garnered the desired result, then legitimacy is claimed and a mandate is claimed. Oh, goody goody goody.

Corrupting the voting process is how Obama wins elections, organizes unions, destroys the private sector, and it is how he governs. This story, Charlotte, North Carolina, this is just amazing: ‘Bank of America Corp. said Friday it lost more than $2 billion in the third quarter as loan losses kept rising.’ Now, wait a minute. I thought the economy was back from the brink. I thought everything was fine. I thought we had turned a corner on this. Now, that’s an AP story. The Reuters story: ‘Bank of America’s Lewis gives up 2009 salary and bonus at the urging of the pay czar.’ Now, listen to the AP lead on this story: ‘Bank of America Corp. said Friday it lost more than $2 billion in the third quarter as loan losses kept rising, providing further evidence that consumers are still struggling to pay their bills.’

There’s a story on one of the networks today that food banks are being overwhelmed by people. I don’t think it is being accurately reported just how bad it is out there. People cannot find work. Obama said, oh, I wish I could write you a check, New Orleans. Why don’t you? You’re writing checks for everybody else that matters to you. And now AP reporting, ‘Well, you know, the number of jobless claims are much lower than expected, experts shocked and stunned.’ Still have 10% unemployment on the way, all the way ’til 2012, consumers still struggling to pay their bills. Here’s the thing, this guy, Ken Lewis, the CEO, was railroaded out of B&A. As I understand it — and somebody correct me if I’m wrong here — but as I understand it, Ken Lewis did not want to do the Merrill Lynch deal. It says in the article that I saw last night that his pay salary is being removed because the Merrill Lynch — he didn’t want to do it, he was strong-armed into absorbing Merrill Lynch by Paulson, by Bernanke, and by Geithner, his business sense said, no, we got no business absorbing Merrill Lynch but they made him do it in order to save Merrill. They let Lehman Brothers go. That was the only one they were going to let go.

Then Merrill’s bonus deals came out in public, deals that Ken Lewis had nothing to do with, I believe, and now he’s the goat. They’re making Ken Lewis the goat and he opposed the policies that have created so much trouble for Bank of America here. He’s the fall guy, or at least the first fall guy. This bunch, the Obama team will come up with as many fall guys as they need in order to protect themselves. I wonder if Bank of America would be doing better if their CEO were getting a salary. Can you believe this? They force him to do things he advised against, they’re losing money, they’re going to punish him, no bonus or salary for 2009 from the Obama pay czar, in the United States of America. I know I’d feel better if the guy had some incentive. If I was a customer of Bank of America, and my CEO is being punished for something he didn’t do and is being railroaded and not being paid, I’m going to think, ‘Well, what kind of incentive is there inside the walls of this bank to get anything done?’ I know Obama thinks everybody should work for free, but compensation exists for a reason. ‘Pay czar urges bank guy to give up salary.’ And if the pay czar can urge the bank guy to give up his salary, then none of us, ladies and gentlemen, are safe. And Barney Frank has intimated that he thinks businesses that are not taking federal money should have their compensation regulated by him and the government as well.

RUSH: Grant in College Station, Texas. Welcome to the EIB Network, sir. Great to have you here.

CALLER: Thank you, Rush, and mega fighting Texas Aggies dittos from Texas A&M University.

CALLER: Thank you, sir.

RUSH: Well.

CALLER: Well, as you stated earlier, the Great Messiah is gracing us with his presence here today in College Station, and we have been ‘encouraged’ to not protest and to be polite to the president as he is coming into town.

RUSH: Wait a second.

CALLER: And, you know, I admit, you know, having a president come to the university is a great honor, whoever the president is. But at no point should we be told to not protest when we get a chance to voice our opinions to the man who is making these decisions.

RUSH: Now, who is it that has issued this dictum?

CALLER: Well, we received a letter from our student body president saying that, and there was an open letter from former President George H.W. Bush who is giving him the award.

RUSH: George…? Wait, wait, wait, wait. The student body president, male or female?

CALLER: Male.

RUSH: Okay. George H.W. Bush actually sent a note asking for civil order and no protests against Obama?

CALLER: Right.

RUSH: Well. Now, this is…

CALLER: They don’t want things getting out of control because they’re scared after the election when young —

RUSH: I mean the dirty little secret, Texas is ready to secede from the nation because of Obama!

CALLER: Right.

RUSH: Texas at any time Obama country.

CALLER: Yes, sir.

RUSH: Well, so what are you going to do?

CALLER: We’re protesting. That’s all it comes down to. It’s all right and we’re going to do it because we finally have the chance to voice the opinions to the man who is screwing us up.

RUSH: Man, I can’t believe this. Well, I can totally believe it but I wonder if any such order like this went out when Bush was headed anywhere. Nooooo! ‘We must protect our little Obama! We must protect his image. We can’t have pictures of protesters. We just can’t have that. Put ’em in the parking lot. We can’t have this kind of insolence and lack of respect for the Dear Leader. They don’t do it in Korea; we shouldn’t do it in Texas. They don’t protest Castro in Cuba. We should we do it here in America? And you’d never get a way with this in Moscow. If you protest Putin, you’re gonna find yourself in a jail where you bleed to death. No, we certainly can’t do that here in Texas.’ Thanks for the update.

RUSH: Barack Obama last night in San Francisco, after a four-hour touch and go in New Orleans, where residents in a town hall said, ‘Why are you nickeling and diming us?’ Obama is out there… In fact before we go to 18 and 19, let’s see. Yeah. Number nine, number nine and then we’ll do 18 and nine. This is a Q&A with an audience member, ‘My question is regarding FEMA reimbursements. Why is it four years after Katrina and we’re still fighting with the federal government for money to repair our devastated city?’

OBAMA: Now, I wish I could just write a check. You know, yuh, yuh… You say, ‘Why not?’ (laughing) There’s this whole thing about the Constitution and Congress —

FOLLOWERS: (smattering of laughter)

OBAMA: — and, you know, I, uhhh —

RUSH: It doesn’t matter to you!

OBAMA: Not to mention the fact that, you know, I always… Y-y’know, one of the interesting things you find out about being president is everybody will attack you for spending money, unless you’re spending it on them. So we’ve gotta go through procedures.

RUSH: Whoa, man!

OBAMA: I make no excuses for the fact that the federal government did not work effectively with state and local governments immediately in the aftermath of the storm. To make sure that everybody got the help they needed right away.

RUSH: Whoa! ‘I wish I could write you a check.’ You can! You’re writing everybody else checks for money that we don’t have. ‘Well, there’s this thing called the Constitution and Congress.’ When does that stop you? The Constitution is in his way? He’s not letting the Constitution get in his way on anything else. And there are ‘procedures’? None of this stood in George Bush’s way, did it? None of these things were excuses for George Bush. Were they? So, they gave him the Nobel prize. Well, that won’t buy much, he doesn’t have that yet. That’s going to get eaten up with the travel costs going over there. Oh, well. Anyway, after the fly-by in New Orleans, he then went out to San Francisco whining about George Bush’s mess that he has to clean up.

OBAMA: What I reject is when some folks decide to sit on the sidelines and root for failure on health care or on energy or on our economy —

RUSH: He’s talking —

OBAMA: What I reject is when some folks say (snickering) we should go back for the past policies when it was the very same policies that got us into this mess in the first place.

RUSH: Whiner.

OBAMA: By the way, putting it as, you know, I’m busy, Nancy’s busy with our — with our mop cleaning up somebody else’s mess, we don’t want somebody sitting back saying, ‘You’re not holding the mop the right way.’ Why don’t you grab a mob? Why don’t you help clean up? ‘You’re not mopping fast enough. That’s a socialist mop.’ Grab the mop. Let’s get to work.

RUSH: We are getting to him, folks. We are getting to him. ‘I’m tired of hearing this. I don’t want to hear people say, folks, is trying to sit on the sideline, root for failure.’ Root for failure? (laughing) There’s only one again that’s done that. That’s why my little scheme that I’m hatching that I let you in on in the first hour of the program — I’m going to decide one day out of the blue to come out and ask you to follow me along on this where I come out in total support of Obama’s policies — because the media will drop him immediately since they hate me so much. Now, this business, ‘Nancy, we’re busy!’ they dump on Bush. (crying) And he using Nancy’s mop here. And then he says, ‘You’re not holding the mop the right way.’

Well, there is a right way to hold a mop! If you are trying to mop up a mess with the handle of the mop, and you’re holding the actual mop — and, by the way, is he talking about the Massive Ordnance Penetrator here which is the new bunker-buster bomb from the Pentagon? Man! You know, you can’t take it, they can’t take it. When he’s with his buddies, $34,000 a couple, yes, he lets fly! ‘They hurt my feelings! They say I’m not doing anything. They want me to fail. I’m using the wrong end of the mop. It’s a socialist map. Wah, wah, wah! Bush, I hate Bush!’ By the way, let’s go back, May 7th, 2006, Meet the Press, Tim Russert talking to Pelosi. He said here’s the numbers in terms of lobbyist contributions. From 2004 to ’06, lobbyists gave Republicans 20 million, Democrats 17.8. Both parties get their money from lobbyists.

PELOSI: Well, let me say this. Our party is standing for honest leadership and open government. We will turn the most corrupt Congress in history [in]to the most honest and open Congress. And maybe it will take a woman to clean up the House. Maybe that’s what we’ll have to have.

RUSH: How is that working for everybody? So I guess that’s the ‘mop’ that Obama was referring to: Nancy Pelosi cleaning up the House with her little mop.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Obama blaming Bush for his mess, complaining about it? Don’t forget Obama voted for all of the Bush spending as a Senator. He mentioned Katrina four times in his book Audacity of Hope, talking about how not enough was done before or after Katrina to help inner-city poverty.
