RUSH: Let’s see, where is this from? The DailyCaller.com. Here’s the headline, ladies and gentlemen: “Top Christie Donors Told to Head to Trenton — With speculation mounting over a possible presidential run for New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, a reliable source e-mails me this: Big potential donors to Christie have been told to prepare to go to Trenton this Thursday to stand on stage with him for the announcement if he decides to run. He has not decided yet,” but they’ve sent out the call for — dadelut dadelut dadelut dadelut dadelut — donors.

Greetings, my friends. Great to have you here. Rush Limbaugh, the brand-new week of broadcast excellence coming to you live and direct from the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies, or Ideological Purity as it’s also called.

Who gathers their donors to stand beside them on a stage announcing? Many people try to hide their donors. What you do is you gather your supporters. “Mr. Limbaugh, don’t you know the donors could also be supporters?” Yes, yes, yes, of course, donors are supporters by definition, but normally you don’t put ’em on stage up there with you. I don’t know, undecided out there, but donors, he’s gathering his donors for a possible announcement. I don’t know. It’s just a little strange. You gather your supporters.

Ladies and gentlemen, there’s a story here in the AP. “How did it get this bad on Capitol Hill? Why does Congress barely function today?” You know, there was a story last week in USA Today, it was a front-page story in their A section. I call the USA Today “McNews.” But they had this long story, which is unusual for USA Today. Most of their stories are a couple paragraphs, you know, reading level, IQ of a fifth grader, but this was actually like 10 or 12 paragraphs. This was a long story for USA Today. It was by Susan Page and it was all about what could we do to stop this horrible gridlock. What can we do? I didn’t read the whole thing, but it was a three prong plan. The AP story is quite direct. You have to stick with it for a while to get to what AP thinks is the reason why it’s so bad on Capitol Hill.

“Why does Congress barely function today? The legislative branch of the world’s most powerful nation is now widely scorned as it lurches from one near-catastrophe to the next, even on supposedly routine matters, such as setting an annual budget and keeping government offices open.” Well, it’s the Democrats who have not presented a budget in over two years. Somehow that never gets mentioned in this story. What they claim is the problem is this. “At the core of this gridlock is a steadily growing partisanship. Couple that with a rising distaste for compromise by avid voters. Unswerving conservatives and liberals dominate the two parties’ nominating processes, electing lawmakers who pledge never to stray from their ideologies. Instead of a two-party system, American government has become a battle between warring tribes, says Mickey Edwards, a former Republican congressman from Oklahoma,” who may as well be a Democrat, “who has taught at several universities.” If you keep reading. If you stick with this to the second page you encounter this. “The media world has been reshaped by a decline in traditional, straight-news outlets and the rise of opinionated blogs, cable TV shows and talk radio. Republicans ‘live in mortal fear of Rush Limbaugh outing anyone’ for being insufficiently conservative, said Rep. David Price, D-NC, a former Duke University political science professor,” which means he’s socialist. “Rep. Jim Cooper, D-Tenn., in one of several essays on Congress’ decline, writes that ‘Fox and MSNBC … certainly inflamed partisanship.’ Social media, he says, has ‘popularized nonfact-based reality.'” So there you have it, Republicans live in mortal fear of me outing anyone for being insufficiently conservative. Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen, thank you. You stick with this stuff long enough and you eventually do get to the truth. This ticks off the AP. They want this kind of power.

That’s the reason they’re writing this: They’re jealous. They want people live in mortal fear of what AP is gonna say about them, which people used to have: Mortal fear. (interruption) Who am I going to “out” today? Well, I’m gonna out a lot of stuff today.
