RUSH: If you haven’t heard this, you have to hear it. This is Jerry Sandusky. You know what Jerry Sandusky is? Wendy, do you know who Jerry Sandusky is? (interruption) Okay. He has a new lawyer out there. The first lawyer I guess was thought to be a little over the top with be letting Sandusky talk to too many people. So he got a new lawyer. The guy’s name is Carl Rominger, or Rominger, I haven’t heard his name pronounced; and this is what Sandusky’s new lawyer says about why Sandusky may have been taking showers with boys.

ROMINGER: Teaching a — a person to shower at the age of 12 or 14 would sound strange to some people, but actually people who work with troubled youth will tell you that there are a lot of juvenile delinquents or people who are dependent who have to be taught basic life skills like how to put soap on their body.

RUSH: So Sandusky was teaching these boys to lather up, to soap it up. They didn’t know how to shower — and the lawyer continued.

ROMINGER: I was answering, “What are plausible reasons that you could think of?” There are kids that age that have hygiene problems and need to be taught hygiene.

RUSH: Yeah. What are we talking about here, 12 or 14 years old? Don’t know the proper way to take a shower? So Sandusky, that’s what he might have been doing is teaching them to take a shower. Now, folks, I played high school football for one year, and I was the manager of the high school basketball team, and the coaches, I’ll just tell you — even junior high, in PE class — the coaches instructed us on the proper way to take a shower, but they didn’t come in and show us! They got nowhere near us in the shower room. But they told us what to do. Unbelievable.
