RUSH: Here’s Richard in Oxnard, California. Great that you waited. Welcome to the program, sir.

CALLER: Afternoon, Rush.

RUSH: Yes.

CALLER: I’m looking at Obama as the next black president. He would be a third term for Bill Clinton. He’s very Clintonesque in his attempt to have both sides of every issue, to avoid criticism from the left or the right.

RUSH: Both sides? Obama’s got at least five sides to some issues.

CALLER: Yeah. Many faceted, isn’t he?

RUSH: Well, but you know the Official Obama Criticizer here on this program — Bo Snerdley, last week in the most recent installment of the Official Obama Criticizer — I think summed it up very well: ‘Obama is the first black Clinton.’

CALLER: There you go.

RUSH: That’s exactly right. In a way, I marvel at these two campaigns, the Clinton campaign and the Obama campaign. But remember, they both have something in common, and that is a slavish and devoted Drive-By Media, which for the most part (the New York Times lead editorial notwithstanding) make it possible for people like The Messiah or Bill Clinton to wander all over the playing field, changing positions left and right, and not calling them on it. That’s one of the things that Obama knows that he’s going to be able to get away with and it’s why he continues to pull it off and do it.
