RUSH: Nancy in Albany, welcome to the EIB network. Hello.

CALLER: Hey, Rush.

RUSH: Hi.

CALLER: Twenty-seven years ago my daughter was born and I started listening to you — or 25, however many years you have been on. I thought, ‘This is the worse thing that will ever happen to this country.’

RUSH: Me?

CALLER: You.

RUSH: You thought that?

CALLER: I was an ultra-liberal, and when I was listening to you I’m thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, this is the worse thing that will happen. This man is going to ruin the country,’

RUSH: Why would you think that?

CALLER: Because of your conservative viewpoints.

RUSH: Was it because I was effective and might persuade people?

CALLER: Well, yes. Yes, I was afraid you would persuade people, but thank God you held in there.

RUSH: (laughs)

CALLER: But then in 1987 my son born and I started looking at things a little differently. And now, thank the Lord that you and Hannity and Savage are out there.

RUSH: All it took was the birth of your son to change your point of view.

CALLER: Well, it was that and then I was in a really ultra-liberal church and I changed churches and things like that. Then I started listening to you and you made so much sense. Really, I stopped listening to AM radio for the longest time. I didn’t realize that people… Well, I knew that you existed, but I didn’t realize there were other conservatives out there pointing out the bad things of the government.

RUSH: Right.

CALLER: I started to tune into talk radio again and was like, ‘Oh, my gosh. There are actually people out there who know what is going on and are telling the people the truth.’

RUSH: It had to be a great feeling. It had to be a great feeling for you, Nancy, to have this awakening. All because of the birth of your son. I mean, in your case the child is the father of the mother.
