CALLER: Hi, Rush. Great to talk to you.
RUSH: Thank you. You bet.
CALLER: You know, I’ve been watching Obama lately, and honestly, I don’t think he wants the job anymore. I don’t. I think there’s no fire in what he’s talking about, unless he’s (garbled).
RUSH: I must step in here and with all due respect: What you’re seeing as no fire is rage and anger that he is no longer viewed any more as The Messiah, as The One.
CALLER: Uh-huh.
RUSH: He no longer has the magic to mesmerize people.
CALLER: Yup.
RUSH: He’s unhappy. The reality that he is not that big a deal to people anymore, has sunk in. He wants to be reelected as badly as anybody who has ever run for the office. What you’re seeing as degeneration and disinterest or whatever, is nothing other than a narcissist facing the reality that the world doesn’t revolve around him.
CALLER: That’s right. And he’s used to be being adored, and he hasn’t been. He’s gotten push-back in the last year. You may be right about that but I just see someone who does not seem interested. I just he just wants to go away and have the title of past president.
RUSH: If he didn’t want to run, he’s be out of there.
CALLER: You think?
RUSH: He wants to change the country. He has said it, and he means it. When you are president, when you’re president and you view your commitment not to constitutional government, not to the market system, not to individual rights — but rather to big government and socialism, group rights — you’re not capable of promoting the common good. You’re not capable of promoting the decency that is this country. So you have to at least try to hide what you’re really doing or mask it in some other way, which is what you’re seeing. Obama cannot be honest with you about what he really wants to do. Now more than ever. So you’re looking at a mishmash of a guy that not even the teleprompter is making sense any more, but he’s a gotta go out there and try because he’s a gotta raise money. He’s ticked off that he has to do that, too.
