RUSH: Jay Carney, the White House press secretary. This is from yesterday afternoon, and this was after all this budget talk that we engaged in yesterday and the debt limit increase and the controversy surrounding that. This was at the press briefing, and correspondent Ann Compton said, “Governor Romney says that the economy’s coming back. I don’t think you disagree with that. Does the president think the economy recovery has now reached a level where it’s kind of inevitable?”

CARNEY: (haltingly) The president absolutely does not believe that, uh, recovery is inevitable. We need to do everything we can here in Washington to ensure that the recovery continues. Uh, it is certainly within the capacity of Washington, uh, as we have seen in the past, most recently last summer, uh, to take action that can harm the recovery. We can’t let that happen.

RUSH: That is the White House press secretary blaming the Republicans for the debt deal last summer and saying they could do it again and destroy precious Obama’s recovery — and that again is an out-and-out lie, much as Obama’s lie to the country about the debt limit deal.
