RUSH: David in Indianapolis, you are up next as we go back to the phones on Open Line Friday. Hi.

CALLER: Hello. How are you today, Rush?

RUSH: Very well, sir. Thank you.

CALLER: First I wanted to call and let you know I am not probably one of your most typical listeners. I am a gay 50-year-old man in Indianapolis, Indiana, but I do agree with you 99.2% of the time.

RUSH: Well, 99.2%, and since I’m almost always right 99.3, you’re close.

CALLER: Well, I’m working on it. The double standard that the Democrats have with Republicans. I don’t like a bully and for the first time in my life I voted Republican. I’ll probably not vote Democrat again unless it just dramatically changes and the Republicans don’t stand up for what they should be. I think things have gotten completely out of hand.

RUSH: Yeah?

CALLER: I don’t believe in fascism, socialism, and that’s what it is. I don’t care how you wrap it. And if they try to say they’re not the bullies, they prove it over and over and over again. At the elections they had black power guys in front of the booths. You know, if you would have had Ku Klux Klan people in front of those booths there would have been a total riot. Everybody would have been all over the topic.

RUSH: That’s exactly right.

CALLER: I mean, it’s over and over again. If they show that a white person didn’t do it then, well, they just kind of blow that underneath the bridge. But they show a black person really didn’t do something, then, well, that’s national news. I think what people are getting tired of is the double standard. My generation, especially as a gay man, fought for the rights of equal rights. That’s equal across the board. That’s not redistribution of money. If you work for it, you earn it. I come from one of those white families. I didn’t get anything special. My mom was divorced, had several children, worked and earned a down payment for her home. Nobody gave it to her. I worked for everything that’s ever been handed to me. I didn’t get grants. I didn’t get anything. I worked my way up. Nobody has a right to come in and tell me I don’t deserve it —

RUSH: Well, that’s exactly right.

CALLER: — but somebody else does.

RUSH: The frightening thing, David… You’re Democrat. The frightening thing is how many people do think the opposite? How many people do think they are entitled to what somebody else has if they have just a dollar more? And the Democrats have done a great job exploiting all this class envy over the years. But I’m proud of you. I don’t know what it was that was the tipping point for you, but I’m glad that it happened. I appreciate the call. Thanks very much.
