RUSH: We\u2019re gonna start in Alexandria, Virginia. This is Ann. Welcome. You\u2019re up first. Great to have you today. Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, hi, Rush. It\u2019s such a pleasure to talk with you. I can\u2019t believe it. Be patient with me. I haven\u2019t done this before, but I\u2019ll get right to my point.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, really? s that what you say to all the guys?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. Not all of them, but a lot of \u2019em.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing)<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Just trying to relax you. Just trying to relax you out there.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, listen. Let me say the obvious here, if I may. I find it kind of ironic and disingenuous of Obama to send Kerry out there to criticize Putin for not honoring past agreements, since Obama doesn\u2019t seem to honor our Constitution or the rule of law in this country. I think they\u2019re using it for designer toilet paper in the White House. That\u2019s what I\u2019ve heard, but, you know, it\u2019s just hearsay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It wouldn\u2019t surprise me.<\/p>\n

<\/a>CALLER: It\u2019s pretty interesting that they\u2019re taking this stand. I think Putin\u2019s situation just has better optics for the low-information person.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Putin\u2019s situation has better optics?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. What he\u2019s doing has better optics. It\u2019s very visual, you know?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, what\u2019s the better optics for Putin?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, you know, it makes better news. You can have camera crews over there and so forth and so on, as long as they\u2019ll let them in.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait, wait, wait, wait. I want to make sure I understand. I can\u2019t possibly be getting what you mean. The optics are Putin\u2019s troops plowing over other innocent people and wiping them out. Is that better?<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s easier to criticize, because it looks so cruel and dictatorial. But when you do it kind of under the radar — and, of course, the American press (whatever there is left of it) doesn\u2019t report on it — it\u2019s more difficult to show what Obama is doing than what Putin is doing for the low-information person.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, I see. I see. I see. You\u2019re speaking in a generic sense.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. It makes better sound bites and all that, and you can see it, you know?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You can put it up there on the TV screen and see it, whereas with what Obama and his minions are doing, that\u2019s not as easy to show or talk about it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: See, I think what she means is… When you say what Obama and his minions are doing, you\u2019re not talking about reaction to Putin; you\u2019re talking about him destroying the Constitution, making up his own laws?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Absolutely right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, yeah. Okay.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And rule of law in this country. He regards the Constitution with as little respect as he would a rat\u2019s turd, okay? That\u2019s in my opinion.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, now, you obviously find it hypocritical —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Sure!<\/p>\n

RUSH: — that Obama cares nothing to the Constitution but thinks these guys ought to be honoring all these decades-old treaties.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, absolutely right, yes. Yes, spot on. Mmm-hm..<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, how about this? If you like hypocritical illustrations, how about this? How about Obama siding with the people who want their freedom, i.e., the people in Ukraine getting their heads busted?<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s the other irony. You would think he\u2019d be in Putin\u2019s camp.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, but what he\u2019s doing to people that want their freedom in this country? He\u2019s sicking the IRS on \u2019em!<\/p>\n

CALLER: There you go. There you go.<\/p>\n

RUSH: He\u2019s denying them all kinds of freedoms. If they don\u2019t want to bake a cake for somebody, by God, they\u2019re going to.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: If they don\u2019t believe in passing out birth control pills, by God, they\u2019re going to.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, so why is he criticizing Putin? He\u2019s just taking what he thinks is his. He probably has more right it than Obama has.<\/p>\n

RUSH: If you want to know the truth, he\u2019s criticizing Putin \u2019cause that\u2019s what it says to do in the How-to-Be-President Manual.<\/p>\n

CALLER: There you go. Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: He don\u2019t care.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Nah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And Kerry? Kerry doesn\u2019t know what he\u2019s doing. People may have forgotten this, but here\u2019s Kerry, “These guys, they gotta abide by agreements! I can\u2019t believe this. It\u2019s the Twenty-First Century, I\u2019m secretary of state, and they\u2019re going in there with a Nineteenth Century tactic.” Does anybody remember that it was John Kerry who was for the US invasion of Haiti to restore the tinhorn dictator Jean-Bertrand Aristide? <\/p>\n

So while we were all in favor of using military force to go in there and wipe out Haiti and reinstall Aristide, we can\u2019t no way… In this Putin thing, as far as Obama and his Regime are concerned, their primary degree of interest is making sure that whatever happens doesn\u2019t end up embarrassing Obama. That\u2019s it. This is a Regime that totally relies on PR, imaging, and so forth. I think Obama\u2019s probably like most low-information voters in this regard, that this is not gonna affect anybody.<\/p>\n

“This is not gonna affect the American people, it\u2019s not gonna affect anybody\u2019s health care; it\u2019s not gonna affect who won the Academy Awards. What\u2019s going on in is not… So what if the Soviet Union rebuilds? So what? It\u2019s none of our business. If they want to rebuild, they rebuild. It\u2019s none of our business. Who are we to tell \u2019em they can\u2019t?” You know, that\u2019s probably the prevailing attitude.<\/line><\/p>\n

Obama\u2019s said as much when he\u2019s been asked about American exceptionalism. “Well, I\u2019m sure the British think they\u2019re exceptional, too, and I\u2019m sure the Russians think they\u2019re exceptional, too.” He doesn\u2019t have any devotion to the idea of American exceptionalism or American superpower status. In fact, that\u2019s a problem. Remember, to people like Obama and Kerry (or you name it, anybody on that left side), the United States has always been the destabilizing force in the world. <\/p>\n

The United States has always been the problem. <\/p>\n

You know, I\u2019m reading an escape novel, just a total turn-my-brain-off novel. There\u2019s nothing to learn from it; it\u2019s just like some people watch the Food Network to just turn off the brain. It\u2019s a book by James Patterson, who churns out 10 books a month, and this one\u2019s called Mistress<\/a>. Do you know that Patterson lives here, Jim Patterson?<\/p>\n

(interruption) Yeah, he lives in Palm Beach. Yeah, I run into him now and then. I run into him at Flagler Steakhouse, over at the country club or wherever. I run into him now and then. (interruption) No, no, I\u2019m not saying his books are… It\u2019s pure entertainment. The books are not brainless. They\u2019re actually good. This one is quite good. It\u2019s just escapism. You read this to get your mind off the humdrum. It\u2019s not a put-down. <\/p>\n

Don\u2019t get me in trouble with Patterson. I\u2019m not trying to insult Patterson. <\/a>. I forget the copyright. It came out in the last two years. And to really cut to the chase here, it is about, strangely enough, the Soviet Union, Vladimir Putin. It\u2019s about Vladimir Putin attempting to reconstitute the Soviet Union by blackmailing the US president. In the book, it turns out — are you ready? — in the book it turns out, here\u2019s a spoiler alert, and I don\u2019t care. I\u2019m gonna tell you \u2019cause I started this. I can\u2019t now stop halfway through it. <\/p>\n

And, by the way, I\u2019m gonna give you a spoiler alert on the latest Liam Neeson movie. I am gonna spoil this for you because before you pay to go see this movie you deserve to know what it\u2019s about. Liam Neeson has done these rescue movies, Taken 1, Taken 2, Taken 5, and now there\u2019s a new one out there that totally takes place on a plane. Anyway, that\u2019s for another minute. <\/p>\n

The Russian intelligence units have learned that the first lady is a lesbian, and there is a videotape of the first lady in a wild sex romp with a very beautiful Washington, DC, CIA agent, slash, model type. And the guy writing the book, the protagonist is a kind of a dork who has a fantasy love affair with this woman, and everyone assumes that she\u2019s committed suicide by jumping off her sixth floor balcony, but it wasn\u2019t her. It was a stand-in. And it\u2019s about how the president is trying to get her assumed dead so that the Russians do not have any leverage over him. <\/p>\n

The Russians are out there claiming they\u2019ve got a videotape, they\u2019re trying to get hold of it. The protagonist actually has it, he\u2019s a computer geek, he\u2019s got it, or thinks he\u2019s got it or wants to get it, but the idea is the president wants to kill the lover of his wife, his wife\u2019s lover to remove any blackmail possibility. So when you\u2019re reading this, when I\u2019m reading this, I\u2019m thinking, now, wait a minute, here we do have relative inaction here. I mean, Putin\u2019s pretty much got a clear view. You know and I know that we didn\u2019t stop anybody. We\u2019re drawing red lines and they\u2019re crossing them. We\u2019re not stopping anybody. Syria, doesn\u2019t matter who it is, secretary of state Kerry says (imitating Kerry), “You can\u2019t do that. You agreed 25 years ago you wouldn\u2019t do it. We\u2019re offended,” and that\u2019s it. <\/p>\n

So you start thinking, well, why is our young president so inactive? I\u2019m not saying there\u2019s any truth to it, and I\u2019m not saying that the book was written with any — it\u2019s just a strange coincidence that at this moment in time — I downloaded about 10 Patterson books, and I picked this one based on the cover, like three days ago. I\u2019m reading it on the iPad. And it\u2019s only last night that I get far enough into the book that I learned what I just passed on to you. <\/p>\n

What are the chances of that coincidence, of all the books that I have bought, that I have downloaded, the one that I would randomly pick because of the cover ends up to be about the very thing happening. In this case it\u2019s Georgia that is being conquered, which has already happened, not Ukraine. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Here is Sean in Dayton, Ohio. Sean, glad you waited. Great to have you on the EIB Network. Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, thank you for taking my call, Rush. I\u2019ve been listening all my life to your show and it\u2019s just a real honor to speak with you today.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know what? Thank you. To have it said that way, “I\u2019ve been listening to you all my life.” The fact that I\u2019ve been doing this 25 years —<\/p>\n

CALLER: — when I was two. (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I appreciate it. I really do.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. Well, my point today was — and I\u2019m so glad that you brought up Russia and the convenient timing, I would say, of Sochi and the Oscars, because I had a sinking feeling that when things were starting in Ukraine came up at the end of the Olympics that Vladimir Putin was gonna take a stranglehold of just the world\u2019s viewing and, you know, just really try to get Russia back in the limelight, and he\u2019s succeeding. And we\u2019re not gonna be able to stop him because, why would he take anything that we say seriously? Obama can\u2019t even keep the promises to his own people, stimulus after stimulus, the Affordable Care Act, all of these things that he\u2019s promised us.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, exactly. Here\u2019s John Kerry complaining that Putin is not living up to agreements. Obama can\u2019t even live up to his own agreement, Obamacare.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hm-hm. Absolutely. And I just think it\u2019s a limp slap on the wrist to just say things to Russia and to send John Kerry, of all people, over there just to try to talk it out. I mean, that\u2019s never worked.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re right. I think, sadly, it\u2019s all PR, messaging, marketing. They\u2019re not gonna do anything to stop Putin. I don\u2019t know who would, in this. It\u2019s a new world. That\u2019s the lefts excuse for everything going wrong. “Hey, it\u2019s a new world and you better adjust to it, pal. Hey, it\u2019s a changing world, and you better get used to it.” That is how every depravity, debauchery, every corruption, perversion, whatever, of our culture going on, political, social, you name it, that\u2019s how it\u2019s justified. “Hey, it\u2019s a new world and you better get right with it.” <\/p>\n

But I do think — and I thank you for bringing this up again — folks, I think it is important — ah, not important. It\u2019s interesting to note that Vladimir Putin, he no question believes that public opinion in the United States matters, which is why he\u2019s continuing to try to manipulate it, or use it. Now, I have no doubt that they have their own agents of influence inside the country. They always have had. The KGB always has had agents of influence, college campuses and so forth. Hell, most college professors are communist sympathizers at the least. <\/p>\n

But, anyway, the idea that Putin would take the time to make these moves during the Olympics and during the Oscar telecast is quite telling. And I\u2019ll tell you something else that Sean mentioned here. Putin is like every one of us. He knows Obama\u2019s not being straight with us. I guarantee you he knows the real Obama, I guarantee you. That\u2019s his job as the KGB. He knows Obama — he knows exactly. And he\u2019s going to take as much advantage of it as he can. Putin sees how things work here. He sees how things are going down. And Putin knows how to use them, too, is my point. Putin knows just as well as Obama how to exploit US public opinion so that it will not negatively impact him, I guarantee you. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Hey.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m wondering, at what point in this Ukrainian invasion will the Drive-By Media decide to play the race card on Putin?<\/p>\n

RUSH: And how would that manifest itself?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, if Putin truly sees Obama for what he is, it\u2019s inevitable the Drive-Bys are gonna have to go to the race card. What else do they have to go on?<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, oh, oh. You know, see, I have to be very honest. When he said that, I\u2019m thinking, what race is Putin attacking in Ukraine? I wasn\u2019t even thinking of Obama. That\u2019s how colorblind I am. I was trying to figure out, what possible race card is there that Putin could play? And he means against Obama, the media, go after Putin for taking advantage of the first black president. <\/p>\n

Grab sound bite 13. F. Chuck Todd, an accredited member of the State-Controlled Media, is really nervous for Obama. Now, F. Chuck is like all of them. He\u2019s in the tank for the Regime. He can\u2019t be any more in the tank than he is and he knows how foolish Putin is making Obama look, and he wants Obama to hop to. He was on Meet the Depressed yesterday and they\u2019re discussing this. Listen to what F. Chuck Todd said.<\/p>\n

TODD: Putin acts; Obama warns. Putin acts; Obama warns. This is a pattern that he can\u2019t afford to stay in here and just continue to warn. You heard John Kerry. More warnings. He\u2019s got to act.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh. This is very troubling, ladies and gentlemen. It\u2019s very sad. The Regime\u2019s own State-Controlled Media realizes how out of their league the Regime actually is. When you have your own mouthpieces say, “You just can\u2019t sit have there and keep drawing lines and warning and warning. You gotta do something at some point.” They\u2019re trying to help young Obama look and act presidential, like, you know, Reagan.<\/a><\/p>\n

RUSH: Tina Brown, well-known left-wing media and social doyenne, was also on Meet the Press during the roundtable discussion. She is the Women in the World Foundation founder. So that means she founded in the Women in the World Foundation. During a discussion about Obama\u2019s remarks about Russian troops in the Ukraine, Tina Brown said the following. You\u2019ll also hear F. Chuck Todd weigh in in this bite.<\/p>\n

BROWN: What I do think does keep to keep outfoxing, ah, Obama is a real reading of what Putin really is. It\u2019s almost as if Putin is brilliant, really. I mean, he\u2019s sort of outfoxing Obama all the time. He\u2019s very clear, and the reason that he wins in a way is that he\u2019s the only one who knows what he thinks. He\u2019s utterly clear. He\u2019s clear he wants to increase Russian power.<\/line><\/p>\n

TODD: He doesn\u2019t care what other people think!<\/p>\n

BROWN: He doesn\u2019t care what other people think. We say, “Well, you can\u2019t do that. That\u2019s not the way in the real sophisticated, y\u2019know, of real foreign policy world behave.”<\/p>\n

TODD: (chortling)<\/p>\n

BROWN: Well, guess what? He\u2019s not that guy.<\/p>\n

TODD: Right. (giggling)<\/p>\n

BROWN: He\u2019s a brutal, crude, cunning, power-enhancing, ruthless guy.<\/p>\n

RUSH: When did these people just figure this out? How clueless have these people been all of these years<\/a>? “He doesn\u2019t care what people think!” Why, that\u2019s not very diplomatic. You\u2019ve gotta care what people think. That\u2019s part of being sophisticated! Putin is really… You know what? The reason he wins is that he\u2019s the only one who knows what he thinks.” No, we all know what he thinks. Every damn one of us knows what he thinks. <\/p>\n

Some of us just have the courage to admit it and others don\u2019t. We all know what he thinks. “He doesn\u2019t care what we think. Yeah, he can\u2019t do that! That\u2019s not the way people in the real, sophisticated world of foreign policy behave,” and that is accurate to John Kerry. I mean, there\u2019s Lurch out there, “Why, you can\u2019t do this! Why, we have agreements. Why, we have the Helsinki Sinker Accord or whatever the hell it was back in 1993. <\/p>\n

“He\u2019s violated the Helsinki Sinker Accord! Why, we can\u2019t do that. He\u2019s using Nineteenth Century tactics, and we\u2019re in the Twenty-First Century! He can\u2019t do that.” What do you mean, he can\u2019t do that? “Well, this is not what sophisticated, learned elitists do. We just don\u2019t behave in this manner!” Liberals make everything about them, and they think everybody that\u2019s any good, anybody that\u2019s decent, anybody that\u2019s smart is just like them. <\/p>\n

This is it. Folks, this is why they\u2019re dangerous. The realize hard, cold reality when it\u2019s too late. Neville Chamberlain syndrome. They realize it after they get beat upside the head. Here\u2019s Charlie Rose. Charlie Rose was terribly concerned — very, very concerned — over Obama\u2019s credibility. He thinks it\u2019s at stake here. This was on CBS This Morning, and he was talking with the former CIA deputy director Mike Morell, and this is Charlie Rose.<\/p>\n

ROSE: (whispering) The other question is: What\u2019s at stake for President Obama? New York Times today: “The Russian occupation of Crimea has challenged Mr. Obama as has no other international crisis, and at its heart, the advice seemed to pose the same question: Is Mr. Obama tough enough to take on the former KGB. colonel in the Kremlin?”<\/p>\n

MORELL: The only thing that Vladimir Putin understands is tough, and there has to be a tough response for Putin to pay attention.<\/p>\n

ROSE: But the president\u2019s credibility is at stake?<\/p>\n

MORELL: I think so.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Really? You hear them? Just listen to way these people talk. “But the President\u2019s credibility is at stake?” “I think so.” Yes. “Well, I don\u2019t know what he reads, Charlie! I don\u2019t know what his foreign policy is. We really don\u2019t know who Obama is. Why, we don\u2019t know who Obama is when he gets out of bed.” “I think so. I think so, yes.” We know Putin now, don\u2019t we? But we had people who told us who Putin was. Sarah Palin did in 2008! Mitt Romney did in 2012. <\/p>\n

We\u2019ve had all kind of people tell you who Putin is — I have, for what that\u2019s worth — and everyone who did was laughed at, mocked, and made fun of, and called stupid and barbaric and other such insults. Meanwhile, these people that think they\u2019re just so smart, the smartest people in the room, sit around wringing their hands, “Oh, my God, poor Obama! His credibility is at stake!”<\/p>\n

They want to know, “How can Obama out-tough Putin?” and the reason they\u2019re quaking in their boots is because they know what a ridiculous proposition that is. That isn\u2019t happening. That\u2019s what they\u2019ve gotta figure out a way of doing. If they can somehow find a way to convince Obama that Putin is Tea Party, then he might toughen up a little.
