CALLER: Absolutely, sir. I just want to say it\u2019s an honor to talk to you, Mr. Limbaugh. I\u2019ve been listening to you since I was 10 years old with my grandfather.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wow.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I want to thank you very much. <\/p>\n

RUSH: I appreciate that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: There are quite a few syndicated radio hosts and it\u2019s great to talk to the godfather.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I appreciate that. Thank you so much.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

CALLER: Also, I want to make a small comment before I get to the topic I called in on, about how America is finally free and they don\u2019t have to work and they could put their kids to sleep<\/a>. That offends me because I work six days a week, full-time job. I have a part-time job two days a week, and I go to school the other three days — and, you know what? I love my boy. I wish I could put him to bed more. But, you know, I work for what I want. I don\u2019t take handouts.<\/p>\n

RUSH: God bless you. I hope it always offends you. I hope that kind of talk always offends you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, I try to pass it along. I\u2019m young, so I don\u2019t have too many like-minded friends, but, you know, gotta keep on truckin\u2019.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s all any of us can do. You gotta keep living by example.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir. But what I was calling about, you know, I was watching the Family Guy, and I saw Mr. Rush Limbaugh on there and I didn\u2019t really know what to think about that \u2019cause, as most of the country knows, you\u2019re the king of conservatism and Seth MacFarlane is kind of an out-there liberal. I was wondering how that came together.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I\u2019ve actually done three Family Guy appearances, and the first one —<\/p>\n

CALLER: The one I\u2019m specifically talking about is the one where you make Brian switch to Republicanism.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay. Well, that was the third one, and that was the result of the first two being well received by the Family Guy view audience. Seth MacFarlane is the godfather of Family Guy<\/a>, and I have a good relationship with him. I\u2019ve always got on with him on the phone. He would be on the phone directing that the first two that I did just voice only from here. The one you\u2019re talking about, I actually had to spend a day out in Los Angeles — well, longer than that — doing that one. I think that… You know, it\u2019s hard to explain or anticipate why. I think Seth —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Did he approach you, or —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. <\/p>\n

<\/a>CALLER: Did they give you a hard time on the set or is it kind of a friendly atmosphere?<\/p>\n

RUSH: No. It was entirely respectful and friendly. In fact, when we had finished and totally wrapped up, he said… I\u2019ll never forget this. He said, “That was just incredible work.” He said, “You wouldn\u2019t believe the number of people who come in here and think just \u2019cause it\u2019s voice, they can just lay it down and leave.” He said that \u2019cause every animated episode takes a year to produce.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, wow.<\/p>\n

RUSH: The animation takes one year to bring one of these animations to TV. He was extremely complimentary and thanked me and held out the option for doing more. I like the guy. <\/p>\n

CALLER: I thoroughly enjoyed it. You know, from what I got from it, you know, I understand he\u2019s obviously got liberal views, but bringing you in and the way they did it, they kind of made it almost… They made conservative views over the top try to portray it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: He\u2019s a smart guy. He\u2019s a smart guy, and he doesn\u2019t want to remain predictable in the entertainment business.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
