RUSH: Gonorrhea and syphilis are on the rise in the United States. Right here it is. Bloomberg — I know, we were doing so well. Gonorrhea and syphilis are on the rise, and there\u2019s a reason for it. I don\u2019t have time to tell you right now, but I will in due — I have a health teacher in junior high or high school call it gongorrhea, so if I call it gongorrhea, I\u2019m just imitating him. Don\u2019t think I don\u2019t know what it is.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: It is true, Bloomberg News<\/a>, reports that “gongorrhea” and syphilis — and again, I had a health teacher in high school that called it “gongorrhea.” When he said it in the class, we all kind of looked at each other and tried desperately not to laugh. Then when we asked him questions we would use the word “gongorrhea” when asking him about it, and it didn\u2019t faze him. Look, if you are listening with your young child, you may not want to hear this.<\/line><\/p>\n

You may need to take about a minute away here. The purpose of this program is not to shock anybody, and we\u2019re not here trying to be obscene or any of that. If the discussion of STDs and things like this make you uncomfortable or you don\u2019t want your child to hear this, I\u2019m gonna count down from five, and if you\u2019re still here, then it\u2019s on you, because you\u2019ve been warned. Five … four … three … two … one. When I was in junior high and high school, we were talked to about this by instructors and teachers quite a bit.<\/p>\n

Gongorrhea and syphilis.<\/p>\n

I will never forget this, folks, and I feel safe in telling you this because people who have been offended by it have stopped listening for a while, so they\u2019re not out there to be offended or worried. In seventh grade, the principal calls an immediate assembly of everybody, boys and girls. We all go to the gymnasium in the junior high school where the principal, the principal gave us a lesson and lecture in blue balls.<\/p>\n

This is why I asked audience members with young children to tune out for a while. It actually happened — and, of course, there were some who had no idea what that was. So they went home, and they told their parents. “What happened in school, Llittle Johnny?” “Well, we got a lecture on…” The town was rocked by that, and the principal ended up being dismissed, obviously. It was funny, folks. It was just absolutely hilarious. This was the extent of sex education that we got in health class: Gongorrhea and syphilis.<\/p>\n

Now, I just happened to mention this right before the top of the hour and a couple people on the other side of the glass said, “I thought we had wiped this out. I thought it wasn\u2019t a big deal anymore.” That\u2019s the story. They\u2019re coming up. “Gonorrhea and syphilis are on the rise in the US,” and according to Bloomberg, “mostly in men who have sex with men, a trend the government said is linked to inadequate testing among people stymied by homophobia and limited access to health care.”<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll read that to you again, \u2019cause some of you may wonder, “What the hell does that mean?” Here it is. I\u2019m just gonna read you verbatim. “Gonorrhea and syphilis are on the rise in the US, mostly in men who have sex with men, a trend the government said is linked to inadequate testing among people stymied by homophobia and limited access to health care. The rate of new…” What do you think that means?<\/p>\n

“Gonorrhea and syphilis are on the rise in the US, mostly in men who have sex with men, a trend the government said is linked to inadequate testing among people stymied by homophobia…” Does that mean the people doing the testing are stymied by homophobia, or does it mean men having sex with other men are afraid to admit it because the testers are homophobic? I don\u2019t have any idea what this means. (interruption) What\u2019s that, H.R.? It is a horribly written sentence. It\u2019s not clear what this means at all.<\/p>\n

“The rate of new gonorrhea cases rose 4% in 2012 from the year before, while syphilis jumped 11%, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said today in a report. Rates for chlamydia, the most common of the bacterial sexually transmitted diseases, gained less than 1%. <\/line>While all three diseases are curable with antibiotics, many people don\u2019t get tested as recommended,” and, “That\u2019s especially the case for syphilis, where the rise is entirely attributable to men, particularly those who are gay or bisexual.”<\/line><\/p>\n

I guess what they mean, then, is that gay men are reluctant to go get tested because they think they\u2019re gonna run into homophobia testers, bigots, racists, sexists, and so forth. So they don\u2019t get tested because they\u2019re afraid the people testing are gonna judge \u2019em and give \u2019em the business or what have you, and so it\u2019s going undetected until it\u2019s too late. So it\u2019s a homophobic society, Mr. Snerdley, to blame for this — and inadequate health care.<\/p>\n

But how can that be, because we\u2019ve got Obamacare<\/a>. So it is a homophobic America responsible for rising gongorrhea and syphilis rates because the men who are experiencing the increase are afraid because of a homophobic country to go get the evidence. That\u2019s what it means. (interruption) Mmm-hmm. Mmm-hmm. (interruption) Well, there are symptoms, and you do have to go get checked, but the story is they\u2019re not getting checked until it\u2019s too late, after the symptoms. Then there\u2019s no testing necessary. It\u2019s clear as a bell, at that point. They are waiting until it\u2019s too late. They\u2019re waiting too long to get tested because this is a homophobic country.<\/p>\n

Speaking of which, let me see if I can find this real quick. Totally unrelated. Here it is. Campus Reform<\/a>, one of my all-time fast-becoming favorite websites. This is a bunch of really clever young people running a website, college students and so forth.<\/p>\n

<\/a>“A study by a Cornell University developmental psychologist found that statistics about gay youth may be inaccurate because of ‘jokesters\u2019 who claim to be gay or bisexual when they aren\u2019t. Ritch Savin-Williams, who specializes in the subject, said that many students initially claim to be gay, then later identify as straight because they were either joking or confused. … More than 70 percent of those who claimed to have a ‘romantic attraction to someone of the same sex\u2019 later identified themselves as being straight. … He added that many researchers choose to ignore this problem, and continue to use the statistics found in the study. ‘It\u2019s not that we saw something that no one else had seen,\u2019 Savin-Williams said in an article in Los Angeles Times<\/a>. ‘But they kept using the data; people should have said, “Hold on here, who are these kids?”‘” Seventy percent of them are lying.<\/p>\n

Now, this is funny, except when you realize that they\u2019re using the false data to enact legislation. The false data, because these kids are joking about being gay, is creating a false percentage of the number of gay people, at least on college campi. The kids are just joking. I kind of have sympathy. Not sympathy, put I love practical jokers. I was the king of \u2019em when I was young. You\u2019ve heard \u2019em all. And screwing with pollsters is one of the most fun things you can do and then share the experience with your friends who are also engaged in the deception.<\/p>\n

If this is true, 70% of college kids are lying about being gay just to screw with the pollsters. He-he-he-he-he. Except the people collecting the data, even knowing that 70% are lying about it, continue to use the data.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: By the way, I want to go back to this story from Campus Reform, because it\u2019s actually an LA Times story about college kids lying about being gay to pollsters. The LA Times headline: “Do ‘Jokesters\u2019 Distort Research on Gay Youths?” And the LA Times article points out: “People who were ‘inconsistent\u2019 on their sexual attraction scored lower in intelligence and got lower grades, the researchers found. The questions about ‘romantic attraction\u2019 might have confused them, especially since the survey did not define what that meant.” In other words, some of these students might have been so stupid, they didn\u2019t know what romantic attraction meant. See, this is how the experts are trying to explain away that they got hoodwinked. They had a bunch of college kids in a nationwide survey, 70% of college kids lied when they said they were gay. “Well, we can\u2019t have that. Well, God, that throws everything out of kilter, we can\u2019t have that.” So the people doing the research are now saying, “Well, you know, the jokesters, they\u2019re not very smart. They didn\u2019t understand our question about romantic attraction.” <\/p>\n

I kid you not. I mean, that, folks, that is hilarious. You may not hear about this story anywhere else. I\u2019m gonna tell you, in the deep, dark crevices of many avenues of American culture, this is going to be a huge deal, and it\u2019s gonna cause all kinds of friction, controversy, angst. You go tell these special interest groups that the numbers they have for the percentages of people, young people, who are gay, and then you tell \u2019em 70% made it up, there is going to be panic. You probably won\u2019t hear about it. You\u2019ll see manifestations of the reaction, but you won\u2019t see the reaction. This is gonna be one of those things that will be under the radar.<\/p>\n

The LA Times story is a great indication of how they\u2019re gonna be dealt with, these jokesters. Rather than get mad at \u2019em, rather than give them credit for having pulled a practical joke on \u2019em, they\u2019re saying they\u2019re dumb, they don\u2019t do very well, they don\u2019t get good grades, they\u2019re just not that bright, they didn\u2019t understand our question about romantic attraction. So they\u2019re trying to make it look like they weren\u2019t punked, if you will, that these respondents are just blooming idiots. This is important data to a lot of people, particularly political activists on the left. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
