CALLER: Hi, Rush. How you doing?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m doing well. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Great. I have two questions I wanted to ask you for a real long time.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

CALLER: First is a personal question. I always hear you mention on the radio your percentage that you\u2019re correct, 98, 99% of the time, but I\u2019ve been married 19 years, and you\u2019ve been married for a little while now. I\u2019m wondering what your percentage is of being correct at home.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing) Let me tell you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I bat about .143 at my house. I\u2019m just wondering how you do.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You bat .143 in your house? I have to tell you something. I am a fortunate man. I cannot overemphasize how smart and bright my wife is. She is literally brilliant. She is indefatigable — I mean, tireless — and it never comes down to whether I\u2019m right or wrong<\/a> or any of that. In the old days, you know, the answer to the question was, “At home, I barely even exist.” Any husband would answer that, trying to get some laughs and some yuks. <\/p>\n

But I have to tell you since you\u2019ve asked that Kathryn is so wicked smart that I don\u2019t have any concerns or cares about that at all. The whole thing about intelligence or lack of it is rooted in insecurity, and sometimes being right all the time makes other people insecure. It bothers them, makes them feel inferior or what have you. She\u2019s totally confident. She\u2019s not bugged by any of these outside pressures of what people think of her and so forth. <\/p>\n

So it really never comes down to that in our house, you know, how stupid am I.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s just a given. (laughing) Once you learn to adjust to it, everything\u2019s fine and dandy. <\/p>\n
