CALLER: Hi, Rush. First off, I want to talk about your new book but also I have a second point I need your help with if you\u2019ll indulge me. I\u2019m a Rush Baby and if your show isn\u2019t on — if it\u2019s on the radio and if the radio isn\u2019t turned on — I\u2019ll go on and turn it on. I just started your new book, Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims<\/a>, and I think it\u2019s so great that you wrote a book that\u2019s geared toward young readers. With all the trash that the literary world is throwing at children these days, it\u2019s nice to have a good, wholesome book that teaches accurate history to the next generation.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, I am so glad to hear that. Anastasia, how old are you, by the way?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thirteen.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re 13 or 15 did you say?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thirteen.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thirteen. You are so well spoken, and when you describe it as “wholesome,” you flatter me beyond any way you can know. I can\u2019t thank you enough. I\u2019m so happy that you like it. You made my day.<\/line><\/p>\n

CALLER: So many issues affect young people. Me and my mom lobbied against a lot of bills this year, and one of them was a bill that you may have heard of out here in California. It\u2019s AB-1266 also known as the Bathroom Bill. Our governor, Jerry Brown, signed it into law. What this does is, if you\u2019re a boy in twelfth grade and you “perceive” yourself as a girl, you can use the girls showers, the girls bathroom, the girls locker room, and being on the girls sports teams.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. Anastashia, I am aware of this. It\u2019s typical of California. I\u2019m surprised there isn\u2019t more outrage about this, because it\u2019s clear what the purpose of this bill is. She\u2019s right, folks. All you have to do is think you might be a girl if you\u2019re a boy, and you can go wherever the girls are — bathrooms, play on their sports teams — and vice-versa. If you\u2019re a girl and you really think you\u2019re a guy — you were intended to be a guy and you should be — you can go were the guys are. It\u2019s perfect —<\/p>\n

CALLER: I know. It\u2019s like, has Jerry Brown and the California Assembly not been a high school boy? (giggles) I mean, luckily there\u2019s a group out here in California, PrivacyForAllStudents.com, and they started a referendum against AB-1266. So everybody who\u2019s a citizen of California can go to that website and sign a petition.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let me ask, Anastasha.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now you\u2019re 13. I\u2019d be fascinated to know if you have a theory. Folks, if you\u2019re listening, this is a 13-year-old lobbying against legislation here. I mean, this is unheard of. We\u2019re breaking new ground here. Anastasha, you\u2019re amazing. I want to know, can you tell me…? I mean, this seems ridiculous to you, right? It\u2019s loaded with potential problems, also, right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm-hmm.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So why do you think Governor Brown and the Democrats there want this to be the law?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I don\u2019t know. They\u2019re just crazy. I mean, it\u2019s insane. There\u2019s, like, no real reason that you would pass this. There\u2019s some flaws in it and there\u2019s so much room for bad things to happen.<\/line><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<\/map>\n<\/line>\n

RUSH: Well, there has to be a reason they did it. That\u2019s the thing. Now, they may not be being honest about it, but there has to be a reason. They think they\u2019re solving a problem, or they think they are paying back a donor constituency group by authorizing this. But there\u2019s no problem. Segregating young boys and girls, there\u2019s no problem with that. There\u2019s no problem being solved here, but yet somebody thinks there is. You obviously disagree with this, and your parents obviously do. So what are you gonna do about it?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, well, there\u2019s a petition at PrivacyForAllStudents.com<\/a>. They started a petition referendum against it, so any of your listeners who are citizens of California need to go on there and download one of those petition forms and sign it and get all their friends to sign it, too, because we just really need to get this overturned.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What is it, AB-1266 did you say?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, AB-1266.<\/p>\n

RUSH: AB-1266. That means in “California Assembly Bill 1266.”<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: From what I\u2019ve read, Anastasha, this bill is the result of demands made by gay\/homosexual donors to the Democrat Party out there. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They are desirous for this, \u2019cause they would probably say they want to end discrimination.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm-hmm. But the thing is, all the petitions have to be turned in by November 6th, so it\u2019s a really short time period, but we\u2019re going to get it overturned.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s not a lot of time, you\u2019re right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Time is short. How long have you been working on this?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Like a month or something. I\u2019m not exactly sure. You have ninety days from when the bill was signed into law. You have 90 days to overturn it, to get enough signatures.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right. Well, I wish you the best. You know, I love California. I lived out there for almost four years, and I just loved it. But it\u2019s just too weird.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Parts of it are just too weird. Look, Anastasha, did you by any chance get the audio copy of my book or do you have just the hardcover?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, I have just the hardcover.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I want to send you an audio version. I am so proud the audio version of the book. I did it. I recorded it. I\u2019m so proud of this, too, and I want as many people as possible to hear it, \u2019cause it adds a whole new dimension.
