RUSH: Let\u2019s go to Jay Carney. This is on CNN Today this morning. <\/p>\n

Chris Cuomo is talking to him. He said, “Look, the numbers about early returns, who\u2019s signing up, they\u2019re terrible, Jay. I mean, six people. I mean, it\u2019s just how it is. They\u2019re very low. The real question is, how are you gonna handle not getting to critical mass, which is the key to make sure this affordable, the Affordable Care Act. That ‘affordable\u2019 piece is this pool of coverage. What do you if you don\u2019t get the numbers that you need?” <\/line><\/p>\n

CARNEY: First of all, we are going to get the numbers and (sic) we need. We have to look at Massachusetts, which, under Governor Romney, introduced a health care reform plan very similar to what the president has introduced here. Uh, and in their first month of enrollment, only 123 people enrolled for premium-paying plans, uhhh, in Massachusetts. In the end they had massive enrollment towards the end of the enrollment period. So, you know, uh, we always expected enrollment figures to be low. We were saying that before October 1st.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right. You expected six people, Jay? And then you cite Romney? Why don\u2019t you tell us about how he ran health care while putting his dog on the roof of his car, and why he didn\u2019t care if some guy\u2019s wife got cancer, Jay? You dare go back and cite Romney? By the way, Romneycare in Massachusetts is a disaster, too. They blamed the website crash on high volume. Do you remember this, folks? The website crashes the first day and they say, “Oh, there were so many people trying to get through!”<\/p>\n

They signed up six people! <\/p>\n

Now, they had 4.7 million unique visitors, but six people signed up and they\u2019re blaming high traffic for this. These are not the sound bites I thought we had. Carney is out there saying, “Well, it only affects 15% of the people. This only affects a few people.” Fifteen percent of the people? We\u2019re talking millions of real people! You know, this is the thing that really frosts me. These people on the left, these Democrats — people like Obama and Harry Reid and Pelosi — for some silly reason, they get all the credit for having the big hearts.<\/p>\n

They get all the credit for having all the compassion, and they “care about the little guy.” The little guy is getting shafted and screwed by these people for 50 years! The little guy takes the brunt of every one of their policies, and now the little guy was lied to. The little guy and his family were lied to about being able to keep their plan, and this is important to people. I hate that it\u2019s become this, by the way, but health care is oftentimes the most important thing to people. It\u2019s the thing they fear losing the most. <\/line><\/line><\/p>\n

Some people fear losing their health care more than they fear losing their house. I wish that weren\u2019t the case. That\u2019s also part of Democrat propaganda. There\u2019s no reason to live in abject fear that you don\u2019t have health insurance. There\u2019s no reason for that. But people do. It\u2019s been constructed and so it matters. So Obama comes along and lies, and you don\u2019t get to keep your plan, and what you\u2019re forced to buy costs three times as much.<\/p>\n

So the regime says, “Well, it\u2019s only affecting 15% of the people in the country.” Those are real people! This is the point: Those are real people, real human beings who are told that the Democrats are the ones that really care about them. “These conservatives like Limbaugh, they don\u2019t care about people! They only care about getting rich. They only care about exploiting people. They only care about hurting Obama. We have the compassion. We care about people,” and it\u2019s the exact opposite. <\/p>\n

I\u2019m telling you, from the bottom my heart, we conservatives love everybody, and we want the best for everybody. We just happen to believe that everybody will do much better for themselves if they invest in themselves rather than making somebody else do it, because we know that nobody\u2019s gonna care about you as much as you do. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s not possible that Barack Obama cares as much about you as you do. It isn\u2019t possible. I don\u2019t care what you think. Kathleen Sebelius or Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi don\u2019t care anywhere near about you as you do. You\u2019re just there to be exploited and used, as far as they\u2019re concerned. So now millions of Americans don\u2019t have health insurance. They either can\u2019t sign up or they can\u2019t afford it. And the White House reaction, “Well, it\u2019s a small percentage.” It\u2019s real people, and it isn\u2019t a small percentage. It is not a small percentage. <\/line><\/a><\/line><\/p>\n

But the point is, it\u2019s real people. It\u2019s not statistics. It\u2019s not a percentage. They don\u2019t care, folks. This is all minutia to them. All that matters to them is that they ultimately gain total control over the health care system because that gives them total control over the way you live, because the way you live has cost components when you get sick. And when they\u2019re in charge of whether or not you get treated, that means they can determine how you must live in order to qualify for being treated later on. <\/p>\n

They can dictate to you what you will and will not eat and where you will not go and how you will not get there, and hold that threat of not giving you health care over your head all the time. That\u2019s who these people are. That\u2019s who Barack Obama is, lying in most extreme way, to get this silly disaster of a law signed into law. Telling you the biggest lie he could concoct. <\/p>\n

Now, here\u2019s one little piece of logic I\u2019m gonna leave you with before we go to the break. If keeping your plan was so important — and it was to people, right? — if keeping your doctor was so important, why did we have to go change all of this anyway? If people like their plans and like their doctors, then why did we have to totally turn everything upside down? Couldn\u2019t we conclude that it may not have been broken? If the number one selling point to reform was you get to keep what you\u2019ve got, that translates to people being satisfied with what they\u2019ve got, to me. <\/p>\n

So what did Obama do? He had to lie to people, because most people were satisfied with what they had. So he had to tell \u2019em that they could keep it and that it was gonna get cheaper, because they didn\u2019t want massive reform. But he didn\u2019t care. He was gonna get it anyway. So you had something that you liked, your doctor, your plan, and he had to tell you he was gonna make it cheaper. And it turns out now you can\u2019t even keep it. You can\u2019t keep your plan, you can\u2019t keep your doctor, the plan doesn\u2019t exist anymore, your doctor may opt out, and if you are able to stay in the system, it\u2019s gonna cost you three times what you were paying. All of that is a reality borne of lies told by the president of the United States.<\/line>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Patty in Chicago, great to have you on the EIB Network. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, hello. Rush, I wanted to say that Obamacare has dangerously comprised the middle class\u2019s accessibility to health care with these high deductibles and these high out-of-pocket costs, because we now have to really think twice and three times and four times before we approach a doctor in an emergency room hospital.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s right. Because what if you encounter a doctor who\u2019s not on the network, as it\u2019s called?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: You are screwed. You may as well not have insurance.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You have a surgical team of six people working on you, if just one of them is not in the network, you\u2019re done.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019ll use myself as an example. I only have a $6,000 deductible and a $4,000 out of pocket.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no, no, no. The president said that wasn\u2019t gonna happen. You must be wrong.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, yes. Oh, yes. But on the other hand, I live in Chicago, Illinois. Illinois has expanded Medicaid. So all these people have untethered access to health care. They can run there with a hangnail. I, on the other hand, if I cut my leg, I\u2019m gonna sit there and really judge how bad is it bleeding, will I get a scar. I mean, I may get out the sewing kit, because I\u2019m gonna be facing that $6,000 deductible, that $4,000 out of pocket.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: In my mind, the health care system has flipped all the people that get it for free, they have untethered access. I now, as a middle class person, am at the back of the line. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you\u2019ve identified here what is really the objective, and the objective here is the redistribution of wealth or of income. And the middle class is being lied to and made to believe they are the recipients of the redistribution.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, no, no, no. <\/p>\n

RUSH: A $6,000 deductible and $4,000 out of pocket, I\u2019m sorry, you don\u2019t have insurance.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. No. And, you know, years ago, when I was between jobs, I did have a catastrophic plan. You know, my catastrophic plan way back when was better than this, and this is considered health care? This is insane. It\u2019s just insane what they\u2019re selling.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, it\u2019s by design. All this is by design. You\u2019re eventually gonna be faced with a solution to this, and the solution is gonna be, “You know what, it was a valiant effort, we really tried hard. The Republicans, though, they kept gumming it up by trying to repeal it.” This is what they\u2019ll say. “The Republicans made it worse. They tried to defund it. They tried to repeal it. Look, folks, we gave it our best shot, we\u2019re just gonna have to now, government\u2019s gonna have to — essentially we\u2019re gonna put everybody on Medicaid and it\u2019s gonna be free for you.” That\u2019s the next lie that\u2019s coming. I tell you, I\u2019m frosted like I can\u2019t describe. <\/line>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Here\u2019s Kathy in Melissa, Texas, I\u2019m glad you waited. Great to have you on the program. Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush. It\u2019s great to talk to you. I have a quick question. I was just wondering, who is gonna pay for all the insurance claims for Obamacare?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Who is going to pay for all of the claims. Well, here\u2019s the model. This is not going to happen, but this is the model. What they intended was — how old are you? Do you mind my asking?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m 46.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, you\u2019re outside the target demo for Obamacare.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: The target demo for Obamacare is roughly 18 to 34.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hm-hm.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They are hoping that within that demographic you\u2019re gonna have young, healthy people who are going to sign up because the law says they must. Their premiums are going to be full price. They\u2019re gonna be full price, but they, because they are healthy, will not be making many claims. Therefore, they will end up paying the bill for the poor and the elderly who will be making a bunch of claims. The theory is that young, healthy people will sign up \u2019cause they have to, but after they\u2019re buying their insurance, they won\u2019t use it because they\u2019re healthy, whereas the elderly and the sick use it a lot because they\u2019re not healthy. Well, the problem is, that demographic can\u2019t find work. There aren\u2019t any jobs anymore. Ninety million Americans are out of work. So now, in the absence of that, until Obama gets the government in total control, it will be insurance companies who will be paying the claims.<\/p>\n

CALLER: So if the insurance companies go away, and then it\u2019s just Obamacare, who\u2019s to say that the government is gonna pay these claims?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right. Which means your neighbors, taxpayers, \u2019cause the government doesn\u2019t have any money \u2019til they take it from somebody.<\/p>\n

CALLER: So in turn we\u2019re paying for our own health care and then we\u2019re paying for our own claims?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, and others, because some will be given subsidies. Some who cannot afford what they\u2019re going to charge, because they don\u2019t have the money, will be given subsidies, and your money will be used for that, too.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Amazing.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re gonna pay for it. There\u2019s no other way around it. I mean, you can say the insurance company, but where do they get their money?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. From us.<\/p>\n

RUSH: We\u2019re all gonna be paying for this. It isn\u2019t free, it isn\u2019t a $2,500 cheaper premium. We\u2019re all gonna be paying for it, and it\u2019s so unnecessary. We\u2019re taking something that just needed to be tweaked. I mean, really we\u2019re doing this \u2019cause, what, 15 million, 20 million, whatever it was, didn\u2019t have insurance. Don\u2019t get me started on this again. I just get livid. The whole premise of this thing was false, phony. Running around saying it\u2019s unfair, it\u2019s just not right, the richest country in the world and whatever number they used, it\u2019s changed. Thirty million people don\u2019t have health insurance. That\u2019s immoral. That just not right.<\/line><\/p>\n

Okay, fine, well, let\u2019s come up with a plan that insures them. “No, we have to reform the whole system.” No, we don\u2019t. “Yes, we do. Gotta reform the whole system.” And now we\u2019re learning apparently everybody liked their plan, they liked their doctor, so much so that Obama had to lie to \u2019em and tell \u2019em you get to keep it as part of his reform, which tells me there wasn\u2019t this massive unhappiness with health care in America. <\/p>\n

If the president lies, as he has, big time, if the primary — look at me, folks. Pay close attention to this. If the primary sales point, primary selling point to get you to support this was you get to keep your plan and your doctor, what does that say? It means you were satisfied. That was the big selling point? You get to keep your doctor; you get to keep your plan if you like it. <\/p>\n

Well, then what was wrong? Why the hell do we have to turn everything upside down? If you get to keep what you liked, what was wrong? And now you were lied to, you don\u2019t get to keep your plan. You can\u2019t. It\u2019s not gonna be offered because the insurance companies now have mandates. According to Obamacare, they cannot offer you the plan that you had that you liked. And the same thing with your doctor. So now we\u2019re reforming health care to improve it, make it better for everybody, when instead everybody is livid \u2019cause they don\u2019t get to keep what they want. If the number one selling point was you like what you have, you can keep it, then what was wrong with it?
