RUSH: Manhattan Beach, California. This is Scott, and welcome, sir, to the EIB Network. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, thanks for taking my call.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, today you\u2019ve been talking a lot about the media, and I\u2019ve been saying for a long time that the media is our number one enemy. Barack Obama could be defeated tomorrow if our media would do their job. And the Tea Party has done a great job calling our congressmen, our senators, but they just put a staff person on the phone at minimum wage or whatever they\u2019re paid. And I don\u2019t know that the message actually gets to those people. I\u2019m thinking that the surge that we need to have now is we need to start calling the tip line at our local newspapers, our local ABC, NBC, CBS affiliates, NPR, and take those Tea Party movements, the signs that say “Remember the four dead in Benghazi,” and go to the local ABC News station and stand out in front of their building and call their tip lines, flood the news media. You know, stop calling Congress all the time and put on your speed dial every day, call the news media.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, the congressional phone lines are shut down anyway because of the shutdown, and that\u2019s actually an interesting point, because it would be cool if they could hear from people out there. They are hearing it via this program. But I like your idea. What do you want them to say when they call a tip line?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I want them to call up and say, “Hey, I\u2019ve got a tip. There were four Americans killed in Benghazi. Let\u2019s do a report on that tonight.”<\/p>\n

RUSH: I would disagree with that, and I\u2019ll tell you why. They\u2019re just gonna ignore it. You know what you should do? Your idea is great. Call the tip line with a real local story. Call the tip line with a real story about people not being able to sign up for Obamacare. Call the tip line with something that is really happening.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You could listen to Rush Limbaugh\u2019s show and as you\u2019re talking, be dialing, \u2019cause it\u2019s hard to get through your show, call your local media and report or ask them to do a story on what you\u2019re talking about for the day or go to Drudge Report.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, but you\u2019re really doing a tip. You\u2019re not calling to taunt them.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: This is the message.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Or you\u2019re driving down the road, Rush, and you see a NBC 4 truck. Get it, follow it, and where they set up their camera, go around behind them and stand with your protest sign there. Do not let the media — \u2019cause they are our number one opponent.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, but lead them to real stories. Tip them about real stories.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Susan in Tallahassee, I\u2019m glad you waited. It\u2019s your turn. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Nice to talk to you. I was just thinking, when you hear all the venom that the Democrats have against the Tea Party and Ted Cruz, and then you think about this terrible IRS scandal which, you know, I don\u2019t think is getting anywhere near enough attention —<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s a great example. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. You don\u2019t think it got enough. Well, it didn\u2019t inside the Beltway, but I guarantee you that is another thing that Americans all over this country are aware of and know of because it touched them, particularly the Tea Party. Of course you\u2019re not gonna hear the Washington Beltway news tell you about it or anybody else, but, believe me, its impact was felt far and wide. Don\u2019t doubt me on that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, the thing is that if you look at those four million votes that nobody could figure out, you know, why the Republicans lost it, that\u2019s the vote they suppressed by not allowing tax-exempt status for these hundreds of organizations. That could be the four million votes.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Possibly. It could be a good percentage of them, yes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, anyway, can I just say one quick thing about your tea?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let me see. Okay, go ahead.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Not only is the tea great cold, sometimes I\u2019m by the pool and it stays in the sun for a while, it\u2019s delicious hot. And also, I have a water filter in the fridge and I refill all your bottles with water and go outside and show the whole world that you make water, too.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I gotta share something with you. When we first started the tea business and we designed the bottles, I said to Kathryn, “You know, people are not gonna throw these away. They\u2019re gonna keep these bottles, \u2019cause, A, they\u2019re great, they\u2019re quality bottles. They\u2019re not so flimsy that they squeeze in your hand and crackle and crunch and fall apart. Plus, they\u2019ve got my picture on \u2019em.” <\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing) I said people are gonna keep these and reuse them, so I am ecstatic to hear you say so.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, thank you for everything you do.<\/p>\n
