RUSH: Speaking of coincidences, as you know, there are no coincidences. The Clintons have taught us this, and today on C-SPAN, ladies and gentlemen, C-SPAN was overrun with callers ripping me to shreds, blaming me for all the problems in America, blaming me for having a chokehold on the Republican Party that\u2019s preventing them from doing what\u2019s right and following their instincts. <\/p>\n

It was like a programmed bunch of caller automatons, and we have just a couple of samples here. First up is a guy who called himself Andrew from Rochester.<\/p>\n

ANDREW: The Republicans have a problem in that they\u2019re being pulled too far right by people like Rush Limbaugh. Rush Limbaugh wants the Republicans to fail so that he can (haltingly) have the Democrats running things so that he can yell and scream about the Democrats screwing things up all the time. Rush Limbaugh is Barack Obama\u2019s best friend, because Rush Limbaugh wants Barack Obama to be in office so that he can make more money.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Can you believe this? <\/p>\n

So this is what they tell themselves, that I\u2019m lying to you, that I actually love this situation, just like I loved Clinton being in office. Oh, yeah! Because I can only do this job when I got things to complain about, when I got things to oppose, when I have things to gripe about, when I have things to disagree with. I can\u2019t do this show when my guys are in office \u2019cause there\u2019s nothing to criticize them about. These people actually talk themselves into believing this nonsense, and they run around saying it.<\/p>\n

This is what they tell themselves, because in their hearts they know, despite what they say, I\u2019m not stupid. You know, publicly they say, “This Limbaugh, he\u2019s an embarrassment. He\u2019s stupid. He\u2019s silly.” Secretly, they know I\u2019m a genius, so they\u2019re trying to it figure out. They don\u2019t understand opposing Obama. In their world it doesn\u2019t make any sense. He\u2019s the greatest thing that ever happened. If the Republicans would just sign on to everything, we\u2019d be in utopia. That\u2019s the point of the next caller on the C-SPAN flood the zone with Limbaugh\u2019s-the-problem calls today. This woman is Pat from Cleveland.<\/p>\n

PAT: This president, he\u2019s not going anywhere. He\u2019s gonna be fine! His family is gonna be fine. You\u2019re not gonna hurt him. He\u2019s already made his legacy. But instead of trying to work with him… If the Republicans would sign on for the infrastructure, you get more tax money into the government. You wouldn\u2019t need all these food stamps. You would have what you need. You\u2019d be able to get teeth, you\u2019d be able to get health insurance, you\u2019d be able to get a job, you\u2019d be able to get a house. But you can\u2019t because you\u2019re stuck on those Republicans and that idiot Rush Limbaugh. The man\u2019s worth over a hundred million dollars.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, this is one of these days I wish my parents were alive to see this. Did you hear what this woman said? “If the Republicans would sign on…” You talk about persuading people and what we\u2019re up against? These are low-information people<\/a> who think they are the smartest in the world and they\u2019ve got it all figured out. “If the Republicans would sign on for the infrastructure,” whatever that means. <\/p>\n

The last I knew, Obama fixed that. We did a stimulus for that! As far as that\u2019s concerned, roads and bridges and schools have all been repaired. (interruption) Well, we know they haven\u2019t, but, I mean, as far as what Obama wants people to believe, that\u2019s done. So, “If the Republicans would sign on for the infrastructure, you get more tax money into the government.” Yeah.<\/p>\n

“You wouldn\u2019t need all these food stamps. You would have what you need. You\u2019d be able to get teeth, you\u2019d be able to get health insurance, you\u2019d be able to get a job, you\u2019d be able to get a house. But you can\u2019t because you\u2019re stuck on those Republicans and that idiot Rush Limbaugh.” And it\u2019s Rush Limbaugh that is preventing the Republicans from signing off on the infrastructure — and then she insults me by saying I\u2019m worth a hundred million dollars!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Do you know what the primary infrastructure of the United States actually is, ladies and gentlemen? It\u2019s freedom — freedom and liberty — and that infrastructure certainly does need some rebuilding. That infrastructure certainly does need some attention.
