RUSH: I\u2019m fine. Thank you very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I think the reason Obama (unintelligible) decided to go through Congress was because he wanted to hurt our base. He wanted to divide the base from the Republicans in Congress that are for bombing Syria.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

RUSH: Maybe. Although, Travis, to be very honest with you, I don\u2019t think he\u2019s gotta worry about the Republican Party base; it\u2019s already fracturing without anything he\u2019s doing. The Republican Party base is being discarded by the Republican Party. I\u2019m sorry to be so blunt. Can you explain to me why the Republican Party doesn\u2019t push back on anything? Not anything! I don\u2019t care if amnesty, Obamacare, or this. <\/p>\n

Well, they are pushing back on this, because the overwhelming poll numbers the American people are overwhelmingly opposed to this, 100% opposed to this. But, folks, I think the Republican Party is looking for a new base. They\u2019re tired of the conservatives. While Obama is bypassing Congress, the GOP bypasses its base. If what Obama\u2019s trying to do here is dispirit the Republican base by having the GOP go along with him, I don\u2019t know that that\u2019s gonna end up happening. But I\u2019ll think about that. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, thank you very much. I appreciate that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. It\u2019s just a privilege. I\u2019ll get right to what I wanted to say. Syria. That\u2019s all that\u2019s in the news right now, is Syria. You hear it on every news source. Of course, you know, your show is speaking on it, too. But it\u2019s like the forefront of every single thing. I feel like, you know, there\u2019s such a golden opportunity for people. The Affordable Health Care Act, it\u2019s coming up in Congress October 1st. And here Congress is meeting, it was fresh on the ideas of senators and congressmen to bring forth this because so many people, so many Americans — me and everyone else — don\u2019t want this to be pushed on us, and now Syria\u2019s taking forefront. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Let me tell you: I know what you\u2019re saying. You\u2019re worried that Syria\u2019s distracting everybody from Obamacare and amnesty and all that, and it is, in places. But I don\u2019t know. A lot of people think that Obama created Syria out of the clear blue in order to divert people\u2019s attention. People think that kind of thing is possible. He drew the red line back last summer, don\u2019t forget. But Obama didn\u2019t fire off the chemical weapons. At the time he wanted \u2019em fired off. <\/p>\n

But, look, I understand your concern about this and you think that it\u2019s a ploy that will allow Obamacare to not be opposed, no energy for it and so forth. I\u2019m not so sure. The American people haven\u2019t forgotten about it, and we don\u2019t let them forget about it on this program. I\u2019ve got an entire Obamacare Stack here. News is continuing to be made. The Heritage Foundation has their Morning Bell blog today: “10 Ways Obamacare Isn\u2019t Working.”<\/a><\/p>\n

More companies have announced that they\u2019re getting rid of insurance coverage, and a couple of others have said no longer can they afford it. They\u2019re pulling out. Unions are furious, and this is not subsided. Just because Syria\u2019s in the news doesn\u2019t — \u2019cause people are affected by it every day. It has not gone away, Montres, and it doesn\u2019t have to be discussed 100% all the time every day for it to be on people\u2019s minds. <\/p>\n

There\u2019s also a story here about the new American dream. It\u2019s not what you think. Did you hear what the new American dream is? It\u2019s not a house. It\u2019s having no debt. According to a survey from ABC News. But, the exchanges are not ready to go. These Obamacare guides, these “navigators”? They\u2019re way behind in hiring and training them. The whole thing\u2019s a mess. <\/p>\n

I don\u2019t think Obama really cares about that. He doesn\u2019t care that it\u2019s not ready. He doesn\u2019t care that it may not work. All he knows is that it\u2019s gonna be the only option people have, if everything else about it works out. With more insurance companies pulling out and more companies converting to part time to eliminate employer coverage, the mess has not gone away, Montres. But I appreciate your fear.
